Great stay with extended family

Had everything we needed for a great week with extended family. Sleeping accommodations were perfect with many beds, large shared open space, large deck overlooking large yard and lake. We used the fire pit every night and a short walk to the dock. We used the kayaks and canoe provided and had luck fishing. We caught pan fish, bass and walleyes. Vacasa was very quick to respond, but they sometimes had to work with the "local" team, which sometimes took a little longer, but not terrible. We would stay again!

Great lake location

Overall, we had a great time at the cabin! There was ample room for our group and the living room and kitchen was a great gathering space. The check in process was very easy, but communication was difficult as all replies were from different associates and their answers did not match to clarify our questions. The cabin was in a great location and easy access for the boat! All we wished was different was communication for clarification and more of a step by step checkout list to complete.

Swimming frontage with great fishing off the pier for Walleye! Private setting was perfect for our family gathering Everyone had fun, lots to do close by and not far from the famous Windmill ice cream shop that is a big tourist attraction. We will be back:)

A Great stay

House was as advertised Big and just a little dusty but otherwise clean. Could use a better dock situation for boats as 18 people use more than 2 boats, also the dock is very high which is trouble for fishing boats. The home could use another Fridge as again 18 people go through food and drinks. The washing machine and dryer need upgrade as well. Overall a great stay.

Somewhat over priced. Ice maker in refrigerator didn't work. Lawn was uncut when we arrived. Boards are rotting out on the dock... one is broken. Second toilet on main floor does not shut off. Left side garbage disposal doesn't work.

Irresponsible Maintenance Management

First day we arrived the Fireplace was not working. I've spoke with a lady from maintenance the next morning and she said that she can't send anyone to fix it because all the services are busy for weeks ahead. Now we arrived at the cabin in the winter and without fireplace? This is not good at all. I had to call fireplace repair services around myself and eventually I did find someone so they came the same day and fixed it. The owner paid for repairs. Then we didn't have internet the whole time. They've sent a maintenance guy and he said that the owners don't like to pay their bills so that's why we didn't have internet and they couldn't connect it at all. We had small kids with us even babies and our baby monitoring devices work trough wireless internet so that was very frustrating.

Cabin Trip

This is a great place for a weekend getaway. The lodge is big enough to fit a large group and have enough space to do stuff. It is right next to the lake with dock which is great for swimming and fishing. The only downside about this lodge is that the wifi/internet is slow. It’ll be great if it was faster as there is not much phone service and many people will be connect to the wifi. Overall, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick getaway with a large group of people.

Came to do our annual fishing trip with another family. Place is very nice but there is a lot of appliances out of order which is a bummer given the price. The stove top didn’t work at first and probably should be serviced.

Lots of Potential

Derek summarized things pretty well. This is a wonderful home in a great location but for a big family and an expensive rental fee, we expected things to be working properly and to be fully usable. We also found that there were not enough supplies to last the week (paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags). We had to purchase more to make it through the week. The home was VERY clean when we arrived which was a plus. I also agree that the property description should include the lake frontage; the sandy/pebbly shallow was really nice for the smaller kiddos and it would have been nice to know there were inconspicuous stumps under water near the dock. We were able to get around them and were careful, but would have been nice to know - or even better to be removed. The map of the lake in the house was VERY helpful and could have been followed up with a detailed description of where the immediate stumps were. There is plenty of space for everyone to sleep (5 bedrooms, 4 with king beds for the adults) and 4 sets of bunk Beds in a loft for the kiddos. The loft also had a tv and video console which was very popular with the kids. There is also a nice, large deck with plenty of seating (but with a table that was ready to fall apart). We didn’t use the screen porch at all except for storage of life jackets, rafts, fishing poles, etc.; it was not very appealing. The wifi…..well, it works. But it was not strong enough to handle streaming anything or the demands of all of our teenagers and adults with smart phones. I know I know - who needs wifi when they’re on vacation at the lake?!?!? We did for cranky littles and a rainy day. But it was also nice to have a DVD player and some VHS tapes (throwback for sure!!). We had a great time, but we won’t return at the price point unless some upgrades happen.

Everything’s broken.

This property has so much potential, but everything needs maintenance. While it was relatively clean when we arrived, the place needs a deep cleaning (baseboards, shelves, etc. VERY dirty). We soon realized our week would be filled with constant discoveries of broken things. Below is a list that would need to be satisfied before we would consider renting again. Most items were annoyances, but when you have 2 dishwashers and neither work… dishes by hand all week for 13 people is NOT my idea of vacation. Dirty diaper found behind a bedroom dresser Neither of the 2 dishwashers work Broken shelf in fridge We fixed the towel bars that were barely hanging in the wall or had fallen off Some patio table tiles are missing and leg support is damaged Upstairs and master bathroom faucets are loose No kitchen towels or wash cloths were provided Coffee maker doesn't work No small (0-12 year old) life jackets Screens on 3 season porch are ripped Large hole in yard (my sister twisted her ankle) Everything needs a deep clean (floors, rugs, lights, deck, patio, etc.) The listing needs to be more specific as to what needs to be brought or what is provided It would be nice if paint in the rooms are the same color (bathroom wall should be all white, even after being patched) Pots and pans are disgustingly dirty Lots of broken kitchen items (we left them in a container on the counter as we found them) Vacuum cleaner is broken Main bath shower head squeals and tub doesn’t drain Unable to turn on fireplace as the remote doesn't work. (We fixed with two AA batteries) All door hinges (and oven) and door knobs need to be oiled with WD40 Oven door doesn’t close all the way *Also, the lake is full of stumps near the shore that protrude from the water a few inches. Some lurk just below the surface. (Nothing the owner can do, but it’s a concern for people planning to rent a boat who are less experienced on the water.)

Could be great

So here's the thing. This property was probably great a few years ago. However, it needs love. To summarize the issues with it - plates and cups are chipped and need replacement, almost every piece of bathroom hardware is loose or totally falls off the wall, kitchen cabinets are very chipped with loose doors, the fridge drawers are all cracked, the dishwasher (the one that works - there are 2 and one is totally out of order) is so loud and bangs plus the door is bent, garbage disposals do not work, all but 2 of the fire pit chairs are cracked or totally broken, the screen porch is pretty much unusable with broken screens and a daybed with linens outside - ew, the air conditioning doesn't seem to ever stop running no matter how you set the thermostat, the pier has a boat lift that is broken and clearly hasn't been usuable for multiple seasons, the dock area is surrounded by stumps and should be advertised as such, and finally the lofts for the children all have loose railings and loose rails on the beds - that is a safety risk that needs to be fixed. We contacted Vacasa with all of this info as soon as it was discovered and were told a property manager would reach out, but never did during our 7 day stay. This house could be great, but it needs an owner to go in and do lots of general maintenance as described. We didn't even touch on the issues on the deck including the broken table and filth everywhere. Cleaning crew needs feedback.
