Quintessential New England Home on Private Beach

The classic 1906 built home with modern amenities sits quietly at the end of Atlantic Avenue directly on Misquamicut Beach. The home is just steps to fine dining, shops, groceries, night clubs and ice cream bars. Recently renovated, the family retreat has a private sandy beach, features ocean views from the second-floor bedrooms, and includes a secluded backyard. This family get-a-way is the perfect spot for a week or more on one of New England's most pristine beaches.

The house is situated on the quiet end of the beach away from the traffic of the state and resort beaches but is only a short walk to great dining, shops, nightlife and public beaches. Walk 2 miles along the beachfront to reach the Ocean House, the historic Carousel, East Beach, Napatree Point and the village of Watch Hill.

Inside you will find the recently renovated home has an open plan first-floor, a galley kitchen and a deck overlooking the backyard with the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the beach just behind the seawall. The second floor features two large ocean-front bedrooms with spectacular ocean views and the calming sound of the waves at night. Two more charming bedrooms on the second floor make the perfect setup for the entire family!

This beach house is one of the few on the street to offer a true "backyard" experience. Enjoy BBQs, dine on the screened back porch or out-door picnic table, play backyard games, and make memories with your family surrounded by sand, beach grass and the ocean. A hot and cold water out-door shower makes it easy to rinse off the sand before going in the house to get ready for a night on the town! The driveway provides off-street parking for four cars.

Perfect spot for a week long ocean getaway with your family. Home was very clean, rooms were huge and beds were comfy. The private beach access in the backyard was amazing. Our children and us loved the space and the accessibility to the ocean.

Perfect beach house

This is such a lovely and comfortable house on a beautiful beach. The views from the two bedrooms that face the ocean are especially wonderful, and the whole outdoor area is laid out really elegantly for barbequing, or just sitting and looking at the waves.

Incredible Family Trip

Our stay was perfect for our family. The location is convenient and steps to the beach, making it easy to get the kids on and off of the beach. The private beach with small children makes it stress free and easy to keep an eye on them, allowing us parents to enjoy the day as well! Comfortable Beach Vacation

This house is in a wonderful location in a quieter section of the beach. The house itself was very clean, charmingly decorated and comfortable. We were happy that there were not a lot of strong scents or plug ins, just clean. Quality linens with plenty of towels. The deck on the dunes offered a great view of the ocean and we loved the outdoor shower. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Lovely! What an amazing house & hosts! I have rented many houses but nothing that compares to this one. The kitchen was so well stocked - the best I have ever experienced. Our hosts were amazing, they were there to great us on arrival & even delivered home grown tomatoes too! The house was perfect for adults & kids ages 6 & 9, the beach was right out the back door. Beautiful patio & deck to watch the waves roll in. The house was perfect! Clean & comfortable. It was hard to say goodbye. This was my first trip to Westerly, and I’d like to come back. Well appointed beach house

Great location, on a very nice beach. During the first day of our stay, the beach was a little too rocky for the little kiddies; however the sand filled in nicely for the last 3 days. A couple of decent restaurants are conveniently located within walking distance. The house included everything we needed to be comfortable, with good quality cooking equipment, appliances, bedding, towels, etc. Because of a large jetty, there is no view of the ocean from the first floor (living area) or back yard. Two of the upstairs bedrooms however have great ocean views, and the beach is very easy to get to. There is a plethora of beach equipment (toys, chairs, beach towels, sand games, etc).

Perfect Setting

This house sits right on the beach, and I mean right on it. You can hear the surf from your bedroom as you sleep. There isn't a view of the ocean from the first floor but the trade off is that the back "yard" is protected from the wind. The house is cozy and the front bedrooms are generous in size. It's well appointed and we had a lovely time walking on the beach, watching the sun set, and having meals around the dining room table.

Beach house

We had a fantastic time at this beach house! The house is perfect for kids. The back of the house opens up to a sandy play area and there are lots of beach toys provided. There’s an outdoor shower as well which was a lot of fun. The ocean is right there and you can hear the crashing waves at night. The house itself was well appointed with all things necessary that made our stay easy. The owners are very nice and responsive. We didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful home, amazing hosts!

My husband and I rented this home for our two children and shared with my brother and his family. The size is perfect for two families with young kids. The house has everything you need—the hosts really pay attention to detail and made it so that we were so comfortable. The hosts were also extremely responsive and accommodating when we needed them. (The fridge was not cooling properly and they went out at 9pm on a Friday to purchase the largest mini fridge they could find so that our groceries would not go bad! They then purchased a brand new fridge.) The upstairs king bedrooms have amazing ocean views. The bathrooms seem to have been recently redone or are just immaculately maintained. The linens and towels provided were of top quality. Outside the backyard is spacious and there are tons of toys and games, beach chairs, umbrellas etc (anything you would want). A few steps take you to an absolutely beautiful beach, and the house location is so convenient to town. Overall it really felt more like a hotel stay than a house rental. We look forward to returning!

The owners met us at check in and gave us a very informative introduction to the property and how everything worked. So many times you are left to read the binder to try and figure it out. We have VRBO’d many time and this was the first time the owners had ever met us! It was very helpful! We had 6 adults and 3 children, ages 4-8. The property is extremely well maintained and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and even had basic spices and supplies to minimize what was needed at the store. The house was larger and even better than the pictures. The beach was just a few steps away and was beautiful! We really enjoyed our time in Westerly and will definitely come back to stay at this 5 star property!

Better than you dared to hope

Truly, at every turn this stay was a glorious experience. Kathy and Jerry are, thoughtful, attentive, and make every comfort available. Our group of 6 was way beyond comfortable, we were giddy! Could easily fit more people though. The house is right on the water with fabulous seafood options right around the corner. If you didn’t love 3 season porches already you will after staying here. Truly, such a gift of a stay!

We were overwhelmed at all the ways we felt comfortable and relaxed. These owners have gone out of their way to spoil their guests with ample provisions and perfect touches everywhere you look. Their communications were prompt and responsive; accommodations precisely as described, but just BEING there really takes the cake! The outdoor shower and beach supplies, grill and picnic table, screened-in porch and yard really extended the living space right out into the ocean! Very special memories made for our whole family. Perfect Week on the Beach

Beautiful, well-stocked home just steps from RI’s best beach. The owners have thought of everything to provide a very comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the screened porch and outdoor shower. Central air was a nice perk and beds were very comfortable. Beach is very private and quiet which was perfect for our family. Just a short drive to lovely Watch Hill and many excellent restaurants. We hope to enjoy this beautiful beach home again soon!
