prachtig uitzicht vanaf het dakterras

Het huis bleek toch meer afgelegen te zijn dan dat wij verwacht hadden. Het huis op zich is goed ingericht al heeft het wel een opknapbeurtje nodig in onze ogen. We hebben wel heerlijk gewandeld in de omliggende natuur en vooral erg genoten van het fantastische uitzicht. Dit maakt veel goed.

thanks for the review - Abdet is a small mountain village, we do explain this in the information. There are bars, in the area, and shops in the the nearby villages. We are continually renovating the house - there is always a lot to do, we think the price we charge offers very good value for money

Pueblo con vistas impresionantes

Fue una experiencia muy buena !! Al estar en plena montaña tienes unas vistas espectaculares. El bajo de la casa muy fresquito la zona de arriba un poquito más calurosa. Tiene de todo puedes lavar tu ropa y secarla en un tendedero. Lo único que no nos gustó fue la habitación de abajo y que las escaleras para subir arriba son de peldaño muy alto!! Esta el pueblo de Guadalest muy cerca, un sitio precioso con su lago turquesa!! Por lo general la experiencia fue muy positiva y m dio mucha penar dejar esas vistas maravillosas!!! Por cierto fuimos con nuestro perro y gatita ylo disfrutaron a tope!!!

Tout ce qu il faut....au calme...pour ceux qui aiment etre a l ecart de la foule et proche de la nat

Pour nous deux...c etait bien grand...mais on a profiter des deux terrasses...d une des chambres et une des salles de bain....de la fete au village ce samedi et de tout les alentours.

precioso entorno

Casa en el fondo del valle preciosisimo de guadalest.Carreteras de montaña con curvas cerradas pero bien asfaltadas. Casa amplia pero con cuatro alturas si contamos la azotea de la foto. La limpieza es un poco justa ,así como el mobiliario. Las duchas son imposibles de controlar en la temperatura. La casa esta en medio del pueblo. Una de las habitaciones esta soterrada con poca iluminación,y ventilación,quiza humedad aunque no la utilizamos.

Abdet Trail Running Week (Feb-17 to Feb-24).

An unforgettable week in the Costa Blanca mountains! Each day featured a unique and rewarding trail to run with great company. I cannot wait to return and explore further. The area boasts stunning and diverse terrain, from gorgeous sea cliffs to mountain tops and scree fields, with Abdet firmly squared as the perfect launching point. Tom is a gracious and kind host, providing an experience which satiated both the legs and the belly (delicious dinner feasts each night!) From start to finish, the trip was well-organized, comfortable, and rewarding.

Peaceful Mountain Hamlet

If you want a quiet and peaceful mountain retreat this is the place! Gorgeous mountain and valley views! Very small mountain village. Perfect for adventure, hiking and scenic mountain drives. Several small villages nearby to visit and sample the different local foods. The home here is comfortable. We stayed in Late December so the outside temperature was very cool early morning and nighttime. Cool but pleasant and comfortable during the day. The home has enough heat from pellet heating stove and electric heaters if needed. This was a great place to relax, cook meals and enjoy the mountain retreat. Tom was very responsive before and during our stay. We would definitely return. Would love to experience Abdet in the spring or summer!

Fantastic location for walking, running & cycling

A week of fantastic guided runs with around 60 miles and 20,000ft of ascent which excludes our sunrise and sunset adventures. Comfy accommodation, great food and a perfect host Thomas has been happy to accommodate us with all our requests. Looking forward to coming back and exploring the region even more.

Good property in a great location for a relaxing quiet holiday

We had a family reunion over a school Autumn half term holiday in this property. We pick this place mainly because one member in our family is a keen hiker and a cyclist to which provided plenty of walking routes. We visited Guadalest castle, Benidorm and Calp beach, Water fall of Algar, Castle ruins near Benifarto during our stay and all within an hours drive. The property is well equipped and we had a comfortable holiday during our stay. The only downside to the property is that the internet was very slow and unavailable most of our stay and the electric load to the property is not adequate to use multiple appliances at the same time. But the owner has kept us well informed on these issues and it didn't prevent us from having a great time.

Perfect trail running in spectacular scenery

Thank you Tom & Penny, every time I leave your wonderful place in Abdet I can't wait to come back the next time. A week of running, dining and drinking with you and your other guests recharges me better than anything else I've ever done. I always come back rested in body and soul despite having put in 80 miles plus over those glorious mountains and feeling fitter than I've felt for months. Thanks again.

Clean, comfortable, peaceful holiday cottage.

Great comfortable base for our road cycling trip. Abdet in September was warm and sunny with a pleasant freshness in the air. Cycling out everyday on the well maintained, quiet roads was a delight. Stopping off at small mountain villages for coffee's and lunch gave us a real taste of the true Spain. Fantastic!

Very nice traditional house with simply amazing views from the roof terrace. Lots of options for walking in the surrounding mountains. Some beautiful villages to explore and ruined castles, wildlife, etc. Saw some incredible vultures on one walk, and even Golden Eagles!

Entorno privilegiado para unas vacaciones relajadas

Pasamos unas vacaciones muy agradables en familia (2 adultos, nuestra hija de 10 años y nuestros 2 perros). La casa es muy espaciosa y está equipada con todo lo que se necesita. Hemos disfrutado mucho de nuestras cenas en la terraza del patio interior. :) El pueblo está ubicado en un entorno privilegiado y se presta para una multitud de actividades al aire libre. Las montañas son impresionantes. También sirve de excelente base para ir descubriendo castillos (p.ej. Guadalest) y para ir a la playa. Tom, el propietario, ha estado en todo momento pendiente y nos ha informado sobre rutas de senderismo y puntos de interés. Una atención inmejorable!

Excellent base for active holidays

We visited Abdet to trail run and climb - what a fantastic location! The house, the hospitality, the food were all superb. An excellent base for running - Tom has a wealth of knowledge reaging local routes, short or long. Tom and Penny are great hosts and extremely knowledgeable regarding the local hills, history and flora. The local crags (some within walking distance) are also fantastic - well bolted and easily accessible.

Stunning location

I have just returned from a fantastic weeks cycling in Abdet (April 2016) staying with Tom. If you enjoy cycling/trail running/walking/climbing, (basically the outdoors), this is a fantastic location to base yourself. The house is located in a typically Spanish village and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with the bonus of stunning views from the roof terrace down the valley to Guadalest. Nothing better than enjoying a cold beer/glass of wine in the sunshine after a hard days cycling up and down the numerous mountains. I was fortunate enough to go on a fully guided/catered week focussing on cycling with a mountain run thrown in on our rest day. Tom’s knowledge of the area is second to none which added to the experience and made sure we could always find a café con leche when we needed one! The area in general is superb for cycling, with smooth road surfaces, and refreshingly, the Spanish seem to respect cyclists and give plenty of room when passing. It was also very nice to be able to discard all the winter gear and enjoy cycling in just short sleeved top and shorts in pleasant temperatures. (Gilet required for the descents, as they’re long!!) Obviously after a day out on the bike good food was important. Tom’s catering was excellent providing a variety of wholesome nutritious , home cooked meals Overall I had a fantastic week that was made special by the fact that Tom adapted it to suit everyone. Given everything that was included the whole experience represented exceptional value for money and I would not hesitate to book again. Thanks Tom!

mountain trail running week and some cyclocross

Just spent an excellent week doing a mixture of trail running and cycling (off and on road). Tom and Penny supplied full board with excellent wholesome food with an emphasis on natural ingredients. warning despite the 25 hr of exercise I put on weight! There were 9 guests with a similar interest. Tom is able to suggest ideas to suit for walkers runners cyclists rockclimbing and combine them with the local history and flora and fauna. accommodation was comfortable, roof terrace in the sun for after the days exercise. Tom is also excellent at taking photos / videos- so many evenings were spent reviewing the days events and stories. highly recommend - great way to get some fitness in and beat the UK winter

Warm, spacious, clean and well maintained place. It has character, style and quirky giving it a unique feel. Felt very much at home and really comfortable. Surrounding area is something else, the property has amazing views of the mountains, worth getting up to see the sunrise and popping up to see the sunset. Great area for walking, running, cycling and rock climbing at all levels, just step out the door and off you go. The pub is less then two minutes away with friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Great base for climbing and walking holiday.

Lovely Spanish town house has everything that we need for a quiet holiday. This is the fourth year that we have stayed here. Breakfast every morning up on the roof terrace. Dinner in front of the fire on the first four cold nights (very cosy) and BBQ on the rear garden terrace for the rest of the nights when it warmed up. Quick access to some great climbing and walking areas locally and easy access to inland motorway system. 10/10 Dave & Helen

Nice and clean, well looked after property.

Just got back from a busy week road cycling in Abdet, with Thomas Philips and 4 others. The routes that Thomas took us on had fabulous views, alot of hill climbing which helped me alot, at gaining strength to tackle them. company was great, we did have the lucky option of Thomas catering a 3 course meal every night when we got back home, which i can not fault at all , the food was amazing, and plenty of it to. plus we also got breakfast and lunch to take with us. the house we stayed in was very clean and well looked after. I will be back next year for another great training week. Thanks Thomas

Ideal property for a cycling base

Really good weeks cycling, quiet roads, excellent scenery, smooth tarmac. Clocked up 600K in 6 days. Tom cooked some excellent meals and plenty of it! comfortable house. Tom knows his way around the areas roads like the back of his hand. Seems he might know about the paths / trails and rock climbs equally well. Thoroughly recommend it.
