Cozy cottage

This place worked great for our stay seeing family. House was comfortable, well equipped. The location was convenient access to town, a little noisy at times but still good. Would stay here again!

Exceptional Cottage

Surf’s Up Cottage was an exceptionally well stocked, clean and comfortable cottage. The surfing decor was cute, and not overdone. I definitely will look for the availability of this next time I want to book a stay in Long Beach.

This is a house built in the 1890's so I get it. It's old, the rooms are small, no insulation in the walls, etc. HOWEVER, jamming queen-sized beds into tiny bedrooms is ridiculous! I had to crawl across the bed to get to the far side. I tried walking sideways next to the wall, but between the snaggle of extension cords on the floor (fire hazard, anyone???) and the roughly 6" of clearance, that was the worst option. We tried the second bedroom on the next night, but the traffic noise was so awful we got up in the middle of the night and changed back. The mattresses were soft and lumpy. We've owned a beach house. I know how hard it is to keep things clean and updated in a marine environment. The layouts of these older homes is usually odd (this one definitely was) but this was just not an enjoyable stay.

Cute cottage!

The house was very cozy. Four adults staying there was very doable. The house is located on the main drag. I was worried about traffic noise, but turned on a fan in the front bedroom and slept like a rock. Beds were comfortable although a bit tight along the wall. We walked around town and had a blast. We would stay there again when traveling to Long Beach.

It was well supplied. They need a dishwasher. Might install a microwave above stove then move air fryer and toaster to shelves. The kitchen rug is very dirty. Bedroom near front needs a small bench to place suitcases on. We loved the details in 3 ring binder.

We rented this home because it had a ramp and lift chair, which was wonderful for my mother in law that uses a walker. The location was good too, an easy walk to the shops and she could ride her scooter. The home did have a smell to it but I guess that’s expected in an older home near the ocean. The bedrooms are small and it was difficult to get in with a walker but we made it work. There are a lot of extension cords which was concerning. All in all we had a nice stay.

Birthday at the Beach

Just as advertised. Close to town, well furnished, clean. A little noisy at times (it's right on the main road through the peninsula) but quieted down by bedtime. The instructions for using the TV should be updated to current components, but we (or I should say my wife, who has a master's degree in educational technology) figured it out. We'd go back.

Not quite ADA

Cousin in wheelchair reported that 1) the gravel in the drive was too loose to allow a wheelchair to function, and 2) the ADA bathroom was not big enough to allow the door to close when a wheelchair was in it.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner of this property has an adult daughter in a wheelchair and will appreciate knowing the issues you had. They have been adding cement mix to the gravel driveway to harden the gravel. We will look into the door in the bathroom. Again, thank you for reporting these issues you encountered while you stayed. Two couples came for kite festival

We were happy to be walking distance from the main event, and it is always cheering to see how a cabin that started out in 1895 can be a delightful place to stay in 2022, as you can see from the listing, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, made it good for two older couples.

A Perfect Cousin Stay

We had a wonderful time and stay at the Surfs Up. This property was cozy and fun as well as clean. The location was perfect for us. We could walk town and the beach. My only suggestion would Netflix or a smart TV to watch movies at night. Really happy with our stay!

The “ Teal” beach house

My grand daughter loved the fact that everything was themed and color coordinated! She got the biggest kick out of finding all the matching things in the cabin. The house was very cozy and comfortable . The kitchen table was perfect for our needs and the back fire pit area was just right for relaxing and roasting marshmallows. And the second powder room was a nice surprise! We will definitely stay here again. It is close to shopping and restaurants.

Great accessible property in downtown Long Beach

I rented this house for my son who is in a wheelchair for our family reunion. The ramp leading to the door had a low incline which made entering the house easy and it was laid out in a way where there were no obstacles. They loved it and made it easy to get downtown to explore. Would stay here again.

Great cottage, great location!

We came here for a family reunion. I needed it to be wheelchair accessible. It worked well since I can stand and pivot. Just three of us stayed ere but we did comfortably visit in the big living room with several family members. Also, the two bathrooms in this small cottage made it really convenient. It was tastefully decorated too.
