Pinon trees are one of our favorites in the mountains- Just like Pinon Hideaway will be your favorite place to stay in the cool pines of Ruidoso. Spacious home has wonderful wooded and mountain views, the decks are the best place to rest and relax. Make new memories with friends. Pinon Hideaway does NOT offer air conditioning for Summer months...fans help bring the cool mountain air into cabin in the evenings.

Could have been better

The cabin itself is in a good location with pretty views. We enjoyed the view from the upper deck and the neighborhood. Checking in and out was quick and easy. There were enough beds for our family of 5 to spread out. However, there were some things that need improvement. There are 3 bedrooms. Two upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs bedroom has a memory foam mattress that is hard. I mean HARD. Like I lifted up the sheets to make sure it was really a mattress under there. Since there is an entertainment cabinet pictured in the website, I thought there might be a tv in that room, but no. It’s storage. The bathroom connected to the downstairs bedroom has doors that are tough to use. Seems they’re not set right and don’t properly close. Also there are very few amenities in the bathrooms. One bar of soap each that we are supposed to use for both handwashing and showering I suppose, but we used it for neither because the soap didn’t lather at all. No place to set my shampoo, etc. in the shower, so put them on the floor. Just kind of annoying. Last, the kitchen. There is no dishwasher, which all by itself is not a huge deal. However, guests are required to wash and put away the dishes. Also not a problem….except that there was not a scrub brush, sponge or anything to be found. That resulted in dirty dishes being left for us when we got there, but put away in the cabinet as clean. Gross. Seems the housekeeping service should be checking this.

Don't wait to book this place!!

My family & I decided to take a last-minute spring break trip & booked this SUPER CUTE cabin just 3 days before our arrival in mid-March 2023. When we drove up to the property we were immediately impressed with this A Frame cabin! It had everything we needed for our 4 day stay in Ruidoso! Before our trip I made sure to watch the weather & the forecast called for snow, but the forecast changed a few times before our actual check-in date. The first night we got a few snow flurries that continued our second day, then the snow came in pretty heavy throughout the night that second night & we woke up to about 3-5" of BEAUTIFUL snow! The cabin was especially charming with all of the snow! This property is in a neighborhood, but the neighboring cabins weren't close so it made us feel pretty secluded which is what I wanted! The wifi was great for the kids to play on their PS5 we brought, the cell service was strong so you don't have to worry about not having service. Be careful of the steep driveway if you're not used to mountainous terrain & there can only fit 2 cars so back in if you can, I was able to! The front deck has a wonderful view of Sierra Blana Peak that will take your breath away! The back deck was great, but unfortunately becasue of the snow we didn't really get to enjoy cooking, eating or sitting out there. There is a snow shovel, but we just didn't take the time to shovel the back deck. One morning we did hear some elk nearby, but unfortunately, they didn't come say hi to us. This property is a quiet & quaint little gem that is close to everything in Ruidoso & it's just a short BEAUTIFUL drive to Cloudcroft if you take HWY 70 to NMSR 244 through the Mescalero Reservation! That route is truly one of the most beautiful drives I've taken! You won't be disappointed staying at this Cozy Little Cabin!!
