About this property
Doig Cabin: Support a great cause while on vacation!
The Doig Cabin at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is located just five minutes south of Government Camp in the stunning Mt. Hood National Forest! Your rental will not only deliver an unforgettable stay, it will support a great cause!
Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is a non-profit organization that empowers children and adults with disabilities through equitable access to the outdoors and recreation. Our 22-acre campsite hosts 500 campers each summer, multiple winter retreats and a Family Camp. On any given day, our campers are catching fish, conquering their fear on the adventure course, whitewater rafting, canoeing on Trillium Lake, and dancing the night away at campfire. Camp doesn’t only offer outdoor activities, it offers the chance for people with disabilities to make new friends and build a community in a non-judgmental environment.
MHKC relies on generous contributions from donors, and renting out our facilities during the off-season (September-May) to be able to provide an affordable experience for all campers.
Our Doig Cabin, built in 2013, is perfect for a family vacation or a secluded getaway. September and October feature beautiful sun, changing seasons, and warm weather, while winter offers access to skiing and snowshoeing. Camp is located near multiple day hikes that leads to Little Zig Zag Falls, Paradise Park Trail, and the Timberline Trail. We have an adventure course on site that could be utilized as well for an additional cost. When the weather begins to turn, the magic of the mountain really shines. We are located five minutes away from Mt. Hood Ski-Bowl and ten minutes away from the chair lifts at Timberline Lodge.
Our cabin provides privacy while still remaining very close to Timberline. The cabin can sleep five people and has a fully functional kitchenette (convection microwave, 2 gas burner stovetop, refrigerator/freezer, and coffee pot). Your stay here helps ensure that we provide an affordable and truly life changing experience that empowers our campers to live their lives without limits.
Please note that parking is approximately 300 yards from the cabin. A cart or sled (depending on the time of the year) will be provided next to the parking area to walk your belongings to and from the cabin.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was very clean and quiet. A small creek runs behind the cabin making a nice peaceful sound. Knowing the money went for a great cause was the cherry on top. We had a great time!
Perfect spot for a family of four to hit the slopes right near here. Loved the location and the cabin was super cute and cozy. Had everything we could want.
We loved the property and the cabin. Had a little snow but also enjoyed hiking around and looking at all the mushrooms and wildlife. Thank you for the wonderful experience!!
We enjoyed our stay at this cute cozy cabin! Great spot for a family if 4. The sleds made the walk from the parking lot easy even on a snowy/icy day. The cabin was simple, warm and inviting. We would definitely stay again!
This place was a great spot for me and my boys to basecamp for a ski trip. Enough space for me and 3 teens, and had everything we needed. Close enough to Govy, but feels remote, which was great. We'd definitely stay again.
We had a great time in this adorable cabin. The camp host set up everything we needed at the fire pit and we loved sitting in the rocking chairs and listening to the creek. We’ll be back!
This was a perfect home base for spring skiing. The cabin is cozy and set in a camp with hiking trails and a nearby waterfall that we enjoyed exploring after skiing at Mt. Hood. All and all a wonderful experience.
Wonderful cabin in a great location supporting an amazing cause
Beautifully renovated cabin in the heart of a well known summer camp. It's in a great starting location for exploring all the mountain has to offer. Property manager was very friendly and helpful. With part of the cost going to help Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp, this place is a special find.
Beautifully constructed and furnished cabin is located a few feet from the Little Zigzag River. There are no other cabins nearby, so guests have the area to themselves. Trailheads nearby for short or long hikes to lakes or waterfalls.
This was a wonderful weekend getaway. The cabin itself was warm and cozy, and we often sat out on the porch overlooking the creek. There were several hiking trails nearby, which was very convenient. Being located in the camp, with no other visitors, it was quiet and serene. Plus, we befriended the local camp cat, who is very sweet! We would definitely stay here again.
Very quaint cottage 'off the beaten path'. A couple of things to know, however. Be prepared to walk a couple of hundred yards from parking. The WIFI is also very spotty, so don't expect to conduct business or video conferences from the cottage. However, if your goal is to escape from that - this is the place to be. The property manager and staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. We would love to come back and stay again.
