About this property

Private Waterfront Luxury on the Bras D'Or Lake with Hot Tub and Barrel Sauna

Modern relaxed lake front home with floor to ceiling windows giving you amazing waterfront views.
Open bright layout with wood burning stove in the living room to warm up on chilly evenings.

Huge deck with outdoor eating area and outdoor sofas and chairs to relax and watch the most memorable sunsets you will ever see.
Firepit (my kids built it!) with camp fire sticks available for roasting marshmallows and smores.
Hot tub for four on a deck at the back yard overlooking the Bras D'Or Lake.
Barrel sauna on the pathway to the lake to warm up after swimming or kayaking
Lots of privacy as neighbors are over 500 ft away.

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven and stove.
Master bedroom has a king size bed with ensuite washroom. Second bedroom has queen size bed and third bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is also a main washroom with bathtub and shower.
High speed fibre optic internet is available.

The property is approximately 6 acres and registered guests have private use of the property during their stay as well as use of the private path to the the lake.
You are welcome to use our kayaks at your own risk. Please put them on the kayak rack after use to prevent the kayaks from being washed out with the waves.
The paddles and life jackets are in the shed.
The kayaks are put out usually in June until October with weather permitting. The Bras D'Or lake usually takes 2 days to settle after strong winds or other weather conditions.

Please do not bring salt water from the lake in the sauna as this will damage the heating elements. Use only water from the house.
Please do not bring glassware to the hot tub area. We have plastic patio dishes and cups for outdoor use.
Please do not bring electrical devices to the hot tub area as you will risk electrocution.
We do have a security system at the cottage with one camera facing the driveway. The driveway camera helps us to secure our property between reservations when the home is vacant and is in no way to invade our guests privacy.

My family of four (two teenagers) recently spent five days here and had an amazing time. The whole property is well-maintained, very clean, and comfortable, with all of the conveniences of home. The views are simply unbeatable and people in this area are very friendly. Sauna, hot tub, and a wide deck with plenty of seating invite you to truly relax. Highly recommend this spot!

Despite the rain and the fog. the cottage provided us with all of the amenities to make us comfortable. It is an amazingly beautiful spot and so tranquil. We all loved it and our host and caretaker were responsive and helpful every step of the way.

Gorgeous lake retreat

We had a wonderful time with a stupendous view and cool dip in the waters and warmth in the sauna and hot tub. Flowers lovely and fragrant.

Wonderful cottage on Lake Bras D'Or. The pictures of the property are accurate. There is great privacy at the property and lots of room to spread out and enjoy yourself.The view is absolutely spectacular and we loved option of both a hot tub and a sauna.

Great weekend getaway!

Beautiful cottage with fantastic views! Perfect for a weekend getaway. Fabulous great room with wood stove and excellent chairs/couch for curling up with a good book. Well equipped kitchen. Very clean place. Close to hiking trails and amenities. Host was very responsive. Would highly recommend this place!

A beautiful home

The property itself is beautiful and the view is spectacular! I spent several sunsets in the hammock reading a book. The house is very comfortable and easy to settle into. There are also kayaks available for exploring the lake which is such a treat. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the perfect spot in Cape Breton to explore the region from.

Lakefront privacy

The setting is very private with a stunning western view of the Bras d’Or Lake. If you enjoy sunsets this site is extraordinary. At night dark skies give way to beautiful stargazing as well. The house has everything you need and I would highly recommend it.

We do our best to keep them at bay and will continue to do so. guests have not mentioned this before as an issue before but we will continue to be diligent.

Relaxing stay!

The property had an amazing view. It had both indoor and outdoor furniture to make it relaxing. The only problem was how hot it was inside with no air conditioning. The big windows allow for a great view but also let in full sun during the whole day. Open windows and fans helped but only in the evenings. and no air conditioning

Serenity and Bliss

When we finally found the house, thanks to the neighbours who are very used to tourists taking the wrong turn as per GPS instructions, we were in awe of the view. The waterfront property is beautifully kept; we met a lovely caretaker who came by to mow the lawn while we were there. He was kind and very friendly, like most Cape Bretoners. The home was bright and clean. The bedrooms were quaint. The kitchen was very manageable, however, a little smaller than website pictures. But we did just fine. The sitting area was lovely. We walked the very rough rocky beach... the Caribbean temperatures forced us to the water, which was warm and welcoming. And as clear as I have ever experienced. Future visitors; Bring sneakers or water shoes of some kind... the water is not deep enough by the shore, so you have to walk a distance. It was worth it. All in all... a 5 star. * a small suggestion; replace a frying pan or two.

Vue magnifique, emplacement tranquille.

Chalet impeccable, avec décors de plage chic, mais minimaliste. La luminosité est incroyable, mais pourrait rendre l'intérieur trop chaud en été (plus de raison pour profiter de la cours et de la vue). Meubles et accessoires d'excellentes qualités.

So Relaxing

We spent a lot of time reading, napping and relaxing. The sounds of the ocean lull you into relaxation mode. We did venture in to St. Peters for a few hikes and excursions, but ultimately we were here to relax and enjoy some family time. Board games, camp fires, impromptu chats...all made possible by just BEING in this beautiful spot. Had some bunnies and an eagle visit a few times and the view is just amazing. Such a great way to spend our family vacation! Everything you need to unwind and just BE together!
