Lovely, comfortable cottage
Dun Brae is a charming, beautifully decorated cottage. I loved all the paintings and prints (I personally feel there is no such thing as too many pictures on a wall.), and I thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the lovely collectibles. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped. We had a very enjoyable stay. I did think the arrival and departure times were a bit stringent.

Period cottage in heart of Dornoch
Comfortable and tasteful cottage well placed for golf and centre of town. Period pictures and classical Greek literature lining the bookshelves was a talking point.

A wonderful place to stay. Spacious, clean and a short walk to all the towns amenities. Highly recommended.

Remodeled bathroom
No more quaint bathroom. It has been beautifully replaced with a “shower room”, meaning the bathroom is tiled from top to bottom. Guest’s, six feet tall, can comfortably stand under a waterfall shower head. The other fixtures have also been replaced to a high standard and are easy to use.

8/10 Good

Pleasant cottage to stay in but a few changes would make Dun Brae more comfortable.
Some minor adjustments would be recommended: improve lighting in both lounges and bedrooms - not easy to read comfortably. Install working fires in both lounges to replace disconnected gas fires which we were not informed about. A few more mugs, dinner plates and side plates would be helpful. Mirrors to be added to bedrooms. To free up work-surface space in kitchen, wall-mount the microwave eg above radiator beside bin. Change/repair front door lock - difficult for key to insert. Re-arrange lounge next to kitchen so that sofa is not in front of radiator; we moved it around which improved heating of room (returned it to original position on departure). A roller blind on kitchen window in the front of the house would be useful. Leave a note as to where information about the house is located. We found it in a drawer in the lounge next to the kitchen after searching in various places. A washing-up bowl and draining rack/mat would be helpful.
