Nature and bird watching:
The local area is rich in both bird and animal life, the Cromarty Firth is a haven for migrating wildfowl and waders in the spring and autumn. The firth also plays host to bottle-nose dolphins and various dolphin watching trips set sail from Cromarty and Inverness. They can also be viewed from Chanonry Point on the Black Isle.

From April to September Ospreys fish along the foreshore of Nigg Bay adjacent to the cottage. The owners also have a small bird hide at the bottom of their garden that you are free to use when you are staying at the cottage.

The RSPB also have bird hides located at Nigg and Udale bays.

Host profile image
I have lived in the area most of my life and have lived in my house which is adjacent but detached from Osprey Cottage for more than 35 years.
I am a self employed joiner and work locally.

Why they chose this property

The cottage was originally a substantial stone outbuilding and at the time there were very few self catering cottages in the local area. As we have always chosen self catering holidays we decided to give it a go and renovate and extend the cottage to make it what it is today.
