SEA HORSE A Charming Beach Cottage

Sea Horse is a sweet beach cottage on a quiet court in Salvo. This cozy cottage is the third lot back from the community beach access. Relax and listen to the ocean waves while enjoying your morning coffee on the comfortable screened in front porch. The open living room is well equipped with plenty of seating for the whole family. WiFi, Netflix, DVD player, movies, books and toys are provided. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook your favorite meal.
There are two bedrooms, a queen and a twin, both with a big closet and a dresser. Linens are provided. There is an outside shower with lights under the house. From the ocean side crow’s nest, enjoy the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the Pamlico Sound.
The quiet neighborhood is a perfect place to walk or ride your bike . The local ice cream shop is in walking distance for your after dinner treat.
Sea Horse has been completely remodeled. It has been completely repainted inside and out. There is new flooring in the entire cottage. The oven and microwave are new. A washer and dryer are provided.
Sea Horse is pet friendly to well behaved pets with an additional pet fee. A medium sized dog crate is provided .
This adorable cottage is perfect for your next family vacation!!

We loved our week at the Seahorse! A very cute place with close beach access, and perfect proximity for a nightly ice cream stop at the Village Conery. Sally was so responsive prior to our trip. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Salvo!

Perfect obx experience

The property is clean, private, attractive, and a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood is peaceful and located in a beautiful part of the Outer Banks. The host is very nice and very responsive. Overall a wonderful experience!

Adorable cottage, very nice and clean. Sally was very nice to work with, answered questions quickly. It was however a bit different than described. There was no tub, just a nice large shower.The veiw from the crows nest was not as described. You can not see the ocean nor do you have a clear view of the sound side..There weren't supposed to be fireworks around the subdivision but the 3rd and 4th of July there were and scared my dogs. Its still a nice home in a nice area. I would still recommend it.

5 year wedding anniversary

We had a much needed relaxing week in Salvo with our dog.Sally was very nice and communicative with us.The extra dog leashes were a special touch when taking the baby out to the beach.The neighborhood was very nice and quiet.The hot water in the shower outside was very appreciated by us and the furrbaby coming off the beach.We had a nice visit at the neighborhood ice cream shop.All in all a great pleasant trip.

Sweet Simple Perfect Place

My husband and I just wanted a long weekend getaway and The Seahorse Cottage was absolutely perfect! The location to the beach is ideal. The neighborhood is peaceful and well maintained. The trees and shrubbery around the property made it feel so secluded. We had plenty of room to play our corn hole without bothering the neighbors. The cottage itself was a perfect size. The kitchen was well equipped. The decor was simple and tasteful. I absolutely loved the outdoor shower with hot water! So nice to get all the sand off before heading inside. Overall, a great place. We hope to be back soon!

Classic cottage on Hatteras Island

My family and I have stayed in the Salvo area for the last 8 years and picked this little gem this summer. The host was lovely and very responsive, and the house is as described. It's small, but the main area has vaulted ceilings that give it the feel of a much bigger space. For anyone thinking of trying the Salvo area for the first time, the beach access is very close by (the street is actually in between two nearby access points), but the walk through the dunes can be strenuous. We're used to it, but just something to keep in mind if you have anyone in your party that has trouble getting around. The uncrowded and beautiful beach is absolutely worth the extra effort!

Amazing Journey

Our first trip to the Outer banks was an amazing journey. The cottage was everything described in the listing and so very cozy. Just the right amount of everything for the two of us. Everything was so well organized. The beds were comfortable. The community was quiet and welcoming. The beach was perfect. Sally was exceptional, 10 out of 5 stars. We needed to extend our stay due to car trouble. She worked with VRBO to make it happen, recommended resources to contact and kept us informed to conditions on Hwy 12 due to stormy weather. What could have been a nightmare was a memorable experience thanks to Sally. We explored both ends of the islands. It was everything we hoped for and more. We're already planning our next trip. Carol

Perfect Little Cottage

I've been to the Outer Banks many times, and this little neighborhood in Salvo might be my favorite place to stay. Sally's cottage was quaint and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the dead-end street and the screen porch. The walk to the beach is short and very pretty, with trees forming a tunnel across the path at the entrance to the dunes. I was a little wary of visiting in June, as I've always come in the off season to avoid the crowds. The beach was still surprisingly quiet, just how we like it!The cottage was well-equipped. The outdoor shower was incredible and I don't think anyone showered indoors all week! We did miss some courtesy supplies, such as a starter roll of TP and things like trash bags and hand soap. Definitely grab TP to have with you if you're arriving after a long drive! The Dollar General is close by and has all you'll need, though. There was also an odd smell in the bathroom - possibly cat urine - but Sally was very responsive and gave us instructions for cleaning the floor. I think that was an oversight on the part of the cleaning company rather than the owner. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay and had a lovely time.

Perfect location, great host, we loved it!

We traveled as a family. 2 preteens and 1 dog. House was so nice, clean and right size for 4 people and a dog. Sally was a great host. She gave us all the info. So, my kids rented a bike, walked to the ice-cream place and enjoyed it everyday. Beach was so close by and huge. Yes, there is a dune part, but you can easily walk through. We walked our dog at the beach every morning. There are restaurants or little markets, very close by. Food Lion is 20 minutes drive. It is a very convenient and safe place. My kids had so much fun. They were so tired from swimming, riding a bike and walking to ice cream place. House has everything. Games for kids, books, cooking utensils. You need to bring your towels and bed sheets only. it was a home away from home. Special thanks to Sally. I wish I have a neighbor like her. She was very helpful. We will be back.

Nostalgic Beach Cottage

Visiting Sally’s cottage took us back in time. The decor, location, and screened front porch was nostalgic. Everyone in our small family took showers all week under the house in the outdoor shower and we found no issue having only one bathroom all week. It took us back in time. The kids rode scooters on the quiet street and enjoyed putting together a puzzle from the game chest. I will say - while this was a block off the beach… there is a slight “trek” through thicker dune sand to get to the beach. Our beach wagon wouldn’t work and we ended up taking less items (not a bad thing) to the beach. Our rule with the kids was - if you can’t carry it, it’s not coming to the beach. The wagon was pointless on that thick sand. But oh what a treat coming over that dune to a wide, beautiful private beach!!! It was awesome! Not crowded at all on July 4th - to give you an idea. And, the proximity of the house to the sound side beach access was very convenient. The kids loved swimming in the sound. If you are seeking an affordable, comfortable cottage in a quieter area with a wider, private beach - this is the spot!

Our Second Time Around

We loved this place so much we came back! It is absolutely perfect for a couple to get away and bring their furry friend 😊The cottage is a perfect size, the neighborhood is friendly and quiet, and the beach is just a few minutes away. My favorite thing about the place is still the wonderful outdoor shower with hot water. It makes getting all the sand off a MUCH more pleasant experience. The owner rocks, too. Promptly answered all our questions. We would stay here again!

Amazing House in Amazing Beach Area

Words can't describe how this trip made me feel. Perfect homie spot, a home away from home. Perfect for me and my small family (wife and toddler). The beaches were clean and not crowded. The shallow water on the side of island was perfect for baby girl to learn how to work in the water. Just overall couldn't have been happier. And Sally was absolutely wonderful to work with leading up to the day we left and anything we needed. Highly recommend.

Love this place

Our second time staying at this property and just as great as first. Love the location and the “quietness”. Close to beach and short walk to ice cream shop which we used regularly. Cozy Cottage for a relaxing stay!

My family stayed at Sally’s cottage for the week. It was a relaxing cottage with comfortable beds, close to the beach on a quiet dead end street. It is the perfect place for a small family to relax, spend time at the beach. The outside shower at the property comes in handy with great water pressure. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach wasn’t crowded at all. From the start of the rental to the end Sally was in communication offering advise with things to do and letting us know that she was there is we need her. We will definitely rent from Sally again.

Cozy Clean Beach House

We loved staying in this cute beach house! It had everything we needed and more. The screened-in porch was a big hit with kids and dogs, and the outdoor shower was so handy to have for after the beach. The beds were SO COMFY- even the kid beds! The kitchen had everything we needed, and the stacked washer/dryer combo was very convenient. We were able to walk to the beach in five minutes with the kids which was great. The neighborhood is quiet and close to all the amenities. The yard is very big and was perfect for our dogs. There was no dog poop in the yard when we arrived, which was terrific because we have stayed at places where you have to pick up all the old dog poop left over from the previous person, which is such a hassle. Great yard for dogs!

My husband and I live in the Shenandoah Valley in VA . Our family vacationed in Nags Head when I was little. In 1974 my parents built their own little cottage in Salvo on the next block from here. In 2017 this sweet cottage was for sale and we decided to buy our own. A dream come true.

Why they chose this property

This cottage is on a nice secluded and quiet court and a very short walk to the beach. It is the perfect size for a fun family vacation. You can ride your bikes or walk around the neighborhood. We ride our bikes to the stores that are close to the neighborhood.
