This cozy cabin is perfectly located in Island Park Village, the heart of Island Park. Remodeled kitchen and brand new bedroom! The cabin has four bedrooms and sleeps 10 with great views of Sawtelle Peak and neighboring lodge pole pines. Located just 25 minutes to West Yellowstone and is just down the road from the only grocery store in Island Park. Island Park Village is close to several great gateways to ATV, snowmobile, fishing, golfing, kayaking, hiking and biking trails.

The Space:
This cozy cabin is located in the heart of Island Park in Island Park Village, which includes a 9-hole public golf course, tennis and pickle ball. Just off Island Park’s 36 mile main street, Lux Mountain Escape is conveniently located just 25 minutes to Yellowstone and is just down the road from the only grocery store in Island Park. The area is home to more than 500 miles of snowmobile trail riding and countless backcountry riding. In addition to snowmobiling, Island Park is also close to several great gateways to ATV riding, fishing, golf, kayaking, hiking and biking trails. It is also a spectacular spot for spotting various species of wildlife such as moose, elk, and sandhill cranes.


Need a place to eat? No problem! Lux Mountain Escape is just down the street from a great restaurant and close by to other local dining spots in Island Park. Property was excellent. It was comfortable and clean. Instructions were clear and responses from property manager were prompt. There was one minor issue, the light and the fan switches upstairs still don't work properly. Also there is a golf course visible from the property, something that can be advertised.

Wonderful Home!

We really enjoyed our stay at this Island Park home. It is a beautiful, well maintained log cabin. It is in a super location, both easy to get to and with excellent access to the grocery store, as well as the main road to go to West Yellowstone and Yellowstone. We would gladly stay here again. The home has an excellent layout and plenty of living space and comfort. We also loved the pool table and foosball in the basement. Owners were easy to get a hold of when we had a question, and super friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this home.

Great service but property had water leak broken deck

Had Internet connectivity issue but the service person Tyler took great effort and get that resolved. I really appreciate his work and dedication. Had a three night stay with the following issues 1. We could not use the basement game room because of water leak 2. Deck was completely broken and so no outdoor enjoyment 3. Heating not working on basement As promised by the service associate I did not receive any refund due to the property issues.

Moose bellows nearby

Enjoyed our August 2020 stay (Dad, Mom and our 4 young adults)! The manager was very helpful in fulfilling a special request we made prior to our arrival. Most memorable was the sounds of a moose heard from the balcony at dusk and the bedrooms at dawn. (Hope to actually see the moose next time.) The house was very clean and in a nice neighborhood with a view of distant mountains. There is a small food store three blocks away and a grocery store in West Yellowstone, MT. Our family enjoyed the grill and dinners on the deck at the picnic table. The shower water pressure was excellent. The washer and dryer are in a spacious room in the basement along with the game room and one bedroom. A second bedroom is on the main floor. The master bedroom is on the second floor which makes it warmer than the other floors. All three bedrooms are very spacious with large closets. Renters take trash three blocks away to a 24 hour drop off location at no charge (no fee). Although no surprise, I would have liked it if the house had a dishwasher; however, we got by with paper products to avoid cleaning dishes. From this house, it is a 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park (west gate entrance) where we spent our time. Personally, should we be so blessed to return, I would prefer to camp in the park or stay in the town of West Yellowstone, MT at the park entrance because there is so much driving to do to explore the park itself. However, the family enjoyed the pool table and foosball; so, I think this house will win the vote for a return stay. Yellowstone National Park was spectacular! Hope to return soon.

Bucket list vacation

What a beautiful cabin and location for a Yellowstone vacation! Four adults and four grandkids had no problem sleeping and relaxing in the spacious cabin, quite neighborhood, and a surprising number of places to eat very nearby. Everything you needed was provided as advertised! It is a short 25 minute drive into Yellowstone West and then on the the park! I would definitely rent this cabin again in a heart beat, Ty and the Sawtell folks are wonderful to work with, and great communicators, this was our 2nd VRBO vacation, clearly the best! Rent this cabin! You will love it!

I think it needs to be more clearly stated that there is no dishwasher. Also, wall-to-wall carpeting in the bathrooms is very unsanitary.

Yellowstone Adventures

The property was very nice and plenty of room for everyone. Especially appreciated the large washer and dryer as we were mid-way in our trip and needed more clean clothes. There was one night that the power actually was out for about 2 hours. The only downside I see is that you have to haul your own garbage to the dumpster area which was not easy to find. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at your property and would reccommend it.

This is a great house in Island park just a short easy drive from Yellowstone park west entrance everything was clean and house was well stocked plus good communication with manager and since there was two couples it was a hundred dollars cheaper than two hotel rooms for three nights

Great mountain cabin for our Yellowstone stay

The property was a perfect location for our families vacation. We had several days planned for Yellowstone. The location was approximately 20 minutes from the town of West Yellowstone. The place was spacious and stocked with the basic amenities to cook a meal or just relax after a long day in the car. The property management company was easy to work with and provided a helpful list of grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay again if visiting the same area.

Good alternative to west yellowstone

This cabin is about 25 minutes from west Yellowstone. The rooms are clean. The cooking utentials are plenty. The basement has billiard table and mini soccer table and TV. The only inconvenience is it only has two baths.

Good location with disappointing property management

The cabin is a fifteen to twenty minute drive to the west entrance to Yellowstone. The convenience store is a block away and has everything you might need. The cabin has three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have beds that will fit two adults and one bedroom with two full beds. There are three couches that convert to beds. The problems with the cabin: I became sick with severe stomach pains. I received notice from the property management the following day that the water was contaminated with E. Coli. This means that the water was contaminated with human or animal waste. Ty, the property manager, was sure to point out that this contamination was not his fault. There was no offer of a solution or assistance with the problem of contaminated water. When there is a problem that a customer is facing, the reply of management should not be that it isn’t their fault. A better response would have been, “We are sorry for the illness and difficulty this issue has caused you. I will bring by several cases of bottled water for you to use in the cabin until this issue is resolved .” At least an offer of compensation for the almost $100 we spent on bottled water to avoid everyone getting sick would have been appropriate. The cabin is dated. All of the kitchenware is from the 80s or from a thrift shop and needs replacing. The pans are warped and don’t sit flat on the electric stovetop. The fridge doesn’t close unless you push hard on the bottom left corner. The back slider door won’t lock unless you push on the upper door frame to get the latch to line up. The shower water will change temperatures when someone flushed a toilet or runs water in a sink. I was able to move out of the water before getting burned, but you have to be quick. Two of the bear proof metal roll up doors that cover some of the windows are out of the track and don’t operate properly. The folder with instructions for the cabin was one page only and there are no instructions for checking out. Positive things about the cabin: It wasn’t all bad. The beds were comfortable. The location was great for visiting Yellowstone. The internet works ok and the television works once you get signed in to Hulu, etc. the washer and drier work well and were convenient for restocking on clean clothes. This would be a much better place with a little effort put into upgrading and repairing. The property management needs to brush up on their customer service skills.

So the property management company was great going out of their way to help us with anything we needed and great communication. What was not great was the furnishings of the property which was due to the owner. The kitchen was very sparsly supplied with basic ammenities, not enough towels, most of the lamps in the rooms had no light bulbs. Also, it did not list no AC and it got very warm in the house during the day up to 85 degrees. We were told the house is under contract and hopefully the new owner will do some updates such as put in a dishwasher, new stove, and hopefully some AC or at least window units for all the upstairs the basement was the only tolerable location in the house. At night it took till almost midnight to cool down to a tolerable temp to sleep. Another thing I hope the new owner does is provide an instruction binder on how to work the wifi, streaming services for the tv since there is no satellite etc.

The place had a sigen out side that said it was sold

I was disappointed to see that there was no patio furniture on the deck , and light bulbs was missing in bedside lamps and the down stairs closet. I know that is small things , but for the price I payed it would have been nice if there was patio furniture like in the advertising. But we did have a nice time staying in the house.

Was good and clean. The grill was in the garage, and there were no railings on the deck. That was not consistent with the photos. Also, cracks in the back door let’s ants in. We tried messing the property mgmt but they did not reply. We still enjoyed the place and our trip.

Great Time

We had an amazing experience. A lot for the teenagers to do, plenty of space for all of us, clean facility with all the amenities. The property manager sent us a list off grocery stores and restaurants near by, he was great to work with, and responded immediately to questions.
