Charming village townhouse in the heart of the Old Town of Frigiliana (voted the prettiest village in Andalucia by the Spanish tourism authority).
Your first sight of Frigiliana will be that of the dazzling white houses and the Mediterranean sea in the distance just 6 kilometres away. The Axarquia region of Andalucia is well known for its 'pueblos blancos' but Frigiliana's historical quarter is generally considered to have best preserved it's Moorish charm.
Tastefully renovated to a high standard in a traditional Moriscon style, the house is an opportunity to enjoy the village life of this picturesque 'white painted', Andalucian town. A short distance away from the lovely coastal resort of Nerja and only 45 mins from Malaga airport.
The house is typical in style of many traditional houses in Andalucia and oozes charm and character. It is within walking distance of some superb restaurants, friendly bars and shops for essentials or beautiful local crafts.
It also retains some original features and we believe the 'cave' bathroom must be unique! The roof terrace is ideal for dining 'al fresco' or just for relaxing and enjoying the views.
It also offers a terrace on a lower level. Perfect for watching the world go by!
The delight of staying in old town Frigiliana is being able to easily explore the beautiful cobbled streets and discovering something new everyday! There is still a strong feeling of community in this lovely historic village and the mainly Spanish residents are friendly and welcoming.
There is a regular bus that runs between Frigiliana and Nerja. It costs 1 euro and only takes approx 15 minutes! Nerja is famous for it's beaches (ten in all , two of which have won Blue Flag awards) and for it's reluctance to lose it's 'traditional spanish feel'.
The buses from Nerja will take you to many places. A city break? Granada and Malaga are less than an hour away!

The apartment is very cozy and located in the heart of Frigiliana, close to bars and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace with great view of the sea! Would definitely recommend and come back!

Charming and comfortable

Frigiliana is an idyllic little village and this rental is perfectly situated in the heart of the old village. We loved everything from the "cave" bathroom to the rooftop terrace with extraordinary views. The house was clean and well maintained. The clothes washer in the kitchen was ever so nice to have. There is a great selection of books and some good movies too in the sitting room. We loved our home away from home.

Andalusian magic! Comfort and soul in one.

We spent 9 days in the house and it was unforgettable time! The house, with its charming architecture, perfectly captures the spirit of the region. Situated in the heart of town, it's an ideal base for exploring, surrounded by charming stores and excellent restaurants. The location is unbeatable! The house is well-equipped, clean, and cozy. Each level - kitchen, living room, and bedrooms - has its own charm, but the rooftop terrace was our favorite, offering beautiful countryside views. We spent many peaceful mornings and evenings there, enjoying the sunsets. The owners were helpful and friendly, providing invaluable tips. Their recommendation of the beach in La Herradura was spot-on! It was intimate and scenic, and without their advice, we might have missed it. As with older homes, there were minor inconveniences. The lack of air conditioning could be challenging on hot days, and the multi-level layout meant a lot of stairs. Ants appeared but were no issue as long as food was stored properly. Additional advantage: our child learned to stay tidy, thanks to the ants :). In summary, this is a place with soul and character, a home, not a house, ideal for those seeking an authentic experience, not just a generic hotel. We were absolutely delighted and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true Andalusian stay.

Buenas vacaciones

El primer día casi me doy la vuelta, por la cantidad de escaleras que tiene frigiliana, por no haber aparcamiento en la zona, si llegas más tarde de las 8:30 no encuentras aparcamiento, y subir las maletas se hace muy pesado si no estás en forma, el coche hay que dejarlo si encuentras sitio, en la calle principal o parking de pago, empiezas a subir tus maletas y cuando llegas arriba, estás fundido, está es la parte mala, bueno el apartamento no tiene aire acondicionado, que eso también es punto en contra. Ahora en cuanto a tranquilidad , y demás es increíble el pueblo es precioso, la casa al principio parece como si una cueva, pero en cuanto llevas dos días te empieza a gustar , escaleras no le faltan , 3 plantas cocina arriba del todo, en medio el salón y abajo la entrada dormitorios y dos baños, pero load importante es el pueblo, que se respira paz, que es muy turístico, que te enamoras de el, al final las cuestas ya no pesan tanto, y empiezas a disfrutar del entorno, me a encantado, volvería seguro, pero espero estar un poco mejor de forma

Very Spanish & incredible view

We had a really good time in Frigiliana! The landscape, town and also the Apartment was very pretty, welcoming and very Spanish. There were a few issues but the roof terasse really makes up for it all! As so often in Spain, we had to store literally everything edible in the fridge because ants would come in through windows etc and get on it immediately. In general the Apartmenent was clean, though it doesn't meet hygene-standards we are used to in the UK, Germany or wherever, but we expected it to be so! The bathroom was super cool! Some color and sand was coming down the stones and there was a leak, so we had to mop some water up occasionally. But it was ok and we passed it on to the owners. The service was really good! The owners and the house keeper were very friendly and answered very quickly. We were two friends and there were sheets only in one bedroom. The house keeper came by within one hour of our call and brought sheets for the second bedroom. I also recommend the welcome package, it was more than we expected and it got us through a couple of days! We would definitely book this Apartmenet again!

Traditional, quiet, beautiful.

Quaint, traditional Spanish house in the quiet, traffic-free part of the old town. The views are stunning, and we loved to watch the mule delivering supplies for the workmen every day ! We had to hunt around for restaurants/bars that were open after 9pm. The ants were a put -off in the kitchen and bathroom, but nowhere is perfect ! Buses were so cheap ! We came from Málaga airport to Nerja for €4.50 each ! The steps and steep streets are not for the elderly and infirm, but it is quite beautiful .

Nonostante le alte temperature esterne abbiamo sempre riposato bene visto che le camere da letto si trovano al piano terra; abbiamo sempre tenuto, in ogni caso, le finestre chiuse di giorno e aperte di notte. Very Pretty traditional home in Old Town Frigiliana

We absolutely fell in love with the house. It has a very cosy traditional style which fits the location perfectly. We spent a lot of time on the roof terrace, enjoying the roof top views across Frigliana to the sea at Nerja and watching the sun go down. Because the bedrooms are on the ground floor, they were cool and very comfortable. The bathroom was quite something! The fabulous, roomy shower was great. The starter pack is good value, at € 15. We especially enjoyed the home made piccalilli and the pineapple marmalade. It really helped us to find our feet with shopping. Frigliana is a beautiful base to explore the Costa del Sol and the mountains of Andalucía. We loved coming home at the end of each day to such a comfortable and beautiful place. Thank you

Hübsches Dorf u. typisches andalusisches Haus

Sehr schönes Dorf in den Bergen. Das Haus über 3 Etagen liegt zentral mitten in der Altstadt (nur über teils steile Treppengasse erreichbar). Das Haus ist hübsch dekoriert, verfügt über 2 Schlafräume im EG und hat eine kleine Terrasse mit wunderbarem Ausblick bis zum Meer. Das innenliegende Felsenbad ist wildromantisch, erfüllt aber nicht unbedingt den Hygienestandard (Putz und Steinchen rieseln von der Decke). Es fährt täglich mehrmals ein Bus nach Nerja und zurück für 1 Euro p. P. die Fahrt. Leider war zu unserer Zeit im Juni das Meer voller Feuerquallen (Baden meist nicht möglich). Die Höhle von Nerja ist aber einen Besuch wert. Zu empfehlen ist auf jeden Fall der Nationalpark El Torcal im Hinterland von Málaga.

Wonderful tastefully decorated townhouse in the heart of Frigiliana.

We had a fantastic and very comfortable 2week holiday at Casa Christina. The village house is in the heart of the town but easily located after a few steps from the main square. The house is beautiful and full of facilities and the top terrace absolutely delightful.

Exceptional!

We absolutely loved our stay in Frigiliana and this apartment/house was the ideal base. It is right in the heart of the old town and a quick walk to everything. It is on a quiet street without cars so sleeping was excellent. The bedrooms downstairs stayed nice and cool and were a great place to retreat when it got hot outside. The third level with the kitchen has a wonderful balcony with an amazing view of the town and even the ocean in the distance. We alternated days in Frigiliana and the beaches at Nerja which were a 15 minute bus ride down the hill. Honestly, we loved this home more and more each day we were there. So much charm yet also very comfortable and convenient. Highly recommend.

Cette maison correspond exactement à la description, rien ne manque. Elle est décorée avec beaucoup de goût et la salle de bain est géniale ! La location est vraiment située au coeur du vieux village avec une superbe vue de la terrasse sur celui-ci et sur la mer. Pour ceux qui recherchent le calme, cette location est parfaite.

Un séjour dans cet appartement est pur plaisir qu'on soit sur le balcon avec vue panoramique sur mer et ville blanche, ou à l'intérieur alliant un bon goût avec sens pratique. S'il y a des questions, il y a Amanda qui est prête à vous aider avec un sourire.

We purchased this property in 2015 and we absolutely love the village (and the house).
We have another holiday letting property in rural France which we have owned and let for over 12 years.

Why they chose this property

The property was completely renovated about 15 years ago to a very high standard and with some very interesting features. Prior to that the house had been occupied for over 50 years by a local lady. In keeping with the 'Barrio Morisco' (Moorish Quarter) the internal deco of the house is in a Moorish/Moroccan style which we have embraced.

What makes this property unique

Right in the heart of the old town a short walk away from some wonderful restaurants with lovely views over the sea and mountains.
