Location, location, location!

Our luxurious holiday home 'Stay' at Widemouth Bay is situated in Madeira Drive, being a quiet no-through road, directly opposite the main entrance to the beach.

Ideally situated in this spectacular coastal village, Madeira Drive is closest to the beach, the local stores and the award-winning Bay View Inn.

Stay is a modern bungalow of spacious proportions that accommodates up to 7 people in comfort.

The property is fitted-out to a high standard and its open-plan layout keeps its guests united during their stay.

The bright, sunny lounge contains comfortable leather sofas, and entertainment is provided by way of a large Smart TV, DVD player and games console supported by a good selection of family orientated movies and games.

There's a Sonos speaker for those wanting to bring their own music, and reliable wireless broadband throughout.

The modern high-gloss kitchen is well appointed with an induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, along with a full compliment of cooking pans and utensils.

The adjacent utility room features a supersize sink with spray tap for washing out your beach gear, together with a washing machine, tumble dryer and drying racks.

For those arriving with little ones, Stay is equipped with a travel cot and bedding, high-chair, plastic crockery / cutlery and baby monitor to save you bringing those bulky yet essential items with you.

Stay has 3 comfortable bedrooms.

The south-facing master bedroom is home to a comfortable Super King size bed, with crisp white Egyptian cotton linen and sliding doors that lead out onto the patio area. It has its own ensuite bathroom with high-pressure shower.

The master bedroom is also furnished with a widescreen TV.

Bedroom 2 has twin 3' beds, and bedroom 3 contains sturdy 3' bunk-beds in addition to a separate 3' bed. Again all beds are dressed in crisp Egyptian cotton linen.

A full compliment of towels (including beach towels) are provided.

Facing directly south, Stay's private and fully-enclosed rear garden is a perfect sun-trap. Its sizeable patio and upper deck area make for some great outdoor living, with a range of outdoor furniture and gas BBQ being provided.

Stay has its own off-road parking area for 2 vehicles, with further kerb-side parking being available in front of the property. Both the parking area and front of the property are covered by CCTV. There are no cameras within the property, nor any coverage to the sides or rear of the property to spoil your privacy.

Stay is equipped with a 7kW electric vehicle charger that can be enabled for a pre-paid supplement of £10 for each night of your booking.

Fantastic Stay in Widemouth Bay

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Widemouth Bay. The property is stunning and fantastically close to the beach, while being located in a quite cul-de-sac backing onto fields. Stay is very well equipped and provided a great base for beach adventures, exploring Bude and just relaxing- with fabulous BBQ equipment a real bonus. Thank you Emma and the team for being friendly hosts that made us feel very welcome - already looking to book again as soon as possible.

I love Widemouth so this is an easy house to recommend. In addition to the great location this house is brilliant, good space, inside and out, good parking, easy walk to the beach. What's not to like.

Return to Widemouth Bay

Stay is a great home in a great location in Widemouth Bay. We have visited Widemouth Bay many times before but it was out first time at this house. The house and garden are great and very well equipped. Even in November we were able to open the lounge doors and enjoy lunch in the garden which was a real bonus. A great time at Stay!

Lovely place to stay in great location

We had a lovely week at Stay with our friends and two dogs. The property was well equipped with everything we needed and much more, clearly every possible need has been thought about and provided. The garden was secure for the dogs and it was a very short walk to the lovely beach. Emma was great at communication prior to our visit and we had no reason to contact her or the property manager during our visit. There is little else we can praise that hasn't been mentioned before.

Better than the photos suggest

We were already excited about staying here but on entering stay we were very pleasantly surprised, the living room/dining/kitchen was much larger than expected, immaculately kept and the perfect space for our family to spend early mornings and late afternoons after activity filled days with the local treats on offer. The master bed is sooo comfy! Three bathrooms beautifully done and the kids rooms were great for our two, the 4 year old had to try a different bed each night and wasn’t disappointed. The garden is spacious for lots of play and eating outside on the patio. The location is fantastically close to the beach, split into two large sandy beaches and a couple of extra private coves to explore either side. The bay view inn just up the road is just lovely, great food and really nicely kitted out throughout with a pirate playground at the front which our 4 year old became obsessed with. Thank you for so much an amazing holiday at Stay. It’s one we’ll never forget.

Amazing stay in this beautiful house!

It’s not often you turn up to a holiday rental and it completely exceeds your expectations! The house is stunning both inside and out and we immediately felt at home. Emma was really helpful from the moment we booked and got back to us really quickly when we had any queries before we arrived! The whole family loved the house and the location was perfect- just a couple of minutes walk to Widemouth beach and a very short drive in to Bude! Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Easter Retreat

Property is lovely, no phone signal tho and has an induction hob! Would of been amazing to have a heads up on both as with the hob we had to try and cook a christmas dinner with hardly any pots as ours where not suitable for an induction hob! But over all nice property and Emma seems lovely! The guy who came over as we where leaving wasn’t so pleasant tho unfortunately and there seems to be little communication between the owner the house manager and the cleaning team as I did inform both the owner and the property manager I was running late with checking out due to having to ferry christmas stuff back and forth. Other than that fab location and I’d definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay in the area!

Thank you for the 5-star review - we're pleased that you liked the property. For the benefit of future guests, our listing does state that Stay has an induction hob (being close to the breakfast bar, this type of hob safest for our guests), and Stay is equipped with a good selection of induction pots and pans. Mobile phone coverage is patchy in Widemouth, but most mobile phones have 'WiFi Calling' where your calls then come in via the WiFi network. Simply switch this (no cost) feature on and your mobile phone will work normally, even with no signal coverage. I hope this helps, and thank you again for the 5-star review. :)

All round good property and location.

Good all round property, kitchen very well equipped. Would benefit from more seating in the lounge. 5 adults can be a squeeze on two sofas. Excellent waste management and all bins well labelled. Even one for dog waste. Spacious secure garden for the dog. Quick and easy to operate heating system. The weather wasn’t too friendly to us😂😂. Good location for walking and beaches is as states a 2 minute amble. Plenty of supermarkets at Bude if needed. We would visit again.

Just Perfect!!!

This house is amazing! Beautifully decorated and lovely detail. Very well equipped, at a very high standard. Views from property are lovely and a very short walk to beautiful Widemouth beach. It was loved by all, from ages 78-2! I can not recommend this property more highly. I hope we are lucky enough to stay again! We were so sad to leave. Nearby Bude is also lovely, gorgeous beach, very suitable for small children with all the rock pools and lovely canal and paddle boats. So much to do!! A beautiful house in beautiful Cornwall!

Perfect holiday home

We stayed at "Stay" for two weeks, for the second year running. Stay makes the perfect base. Only a few minutes walk from the beach and coastal path The house has everything we needed for the two weeks, very clean and well thought out.

Wild and windy half term break

Lovely break in this very comfortable and well equipped house. This was our second stay at Stay and we loved it. Thoughtful extras like scones for humans and biscuits for dogs were very welcome. Perfect location for wild walks on the beach and cliffs but so quiet and peaceful too!

Stay, Madeira Drive, Widemouth Bay October 2019

We arrived to find this house immaculately clean and warm. Emma had left us a bottle of wine, scones with cream and jam and some milk. There was ample room in this house for the five of us and the teenagers were particularly thrilled with the jigsaw puzzles (two complete), board games and especially the Wii. The house was perfect for our surfing week, close to the beach and a hanging rail with a drip tray for the wet wetsuits. There was also an outside tap set up with a hose where all the gear could be cleaned off. Wetsuits could have been dried off on the large patio but unfortunately weather did not allow for that which is why the inside facility with drip tray was so wonderful. Large garden to relax in after the beach during the summer months with a large barbeque. All the facilities, ie dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer etc, were of a high standard. The bay is beautiful with good surf and Bude is only ten minutes drive away. The house could not have been more perfect for our needs and we felt very settled in and would definitely like a return visit.

Fantastic 5 days

Stunning beach house very conveniently located to the beach. Widemouth perfect for our family - great surf. Bit unlucky with the weather, but didn’t stop us going to the beach every day and coming back to the lovely house. Beautifully furnished, very clean with lots of home comforts. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing !

Initial impression was how clean and comfortable the house was. Having stayed for two weeks, we all agreed how peaceful and relaxing the house was and during that time there was nothing that we needed that wasn't already provided. The location was perfect, ideal for coastal and country walks, and for days (and evenings) on the beach. Can't wait to visit again.

Fab accommodation

Loved everything about Stay. The open plan living is perfect for socialising....we have family in Bude so it was lovely to have the space to have them over as well. Great for a barbecue.....plentiful crockery etc for the extra people. Great location for the beach and walks. Would definitely choose this property again .

Fantastic property, would love to have stayed longer

My husband, our dog and I stayed here for two weeks recently. Such a fab location, was lovely to just be able to walk down to the beach. The house itself was well equipped, was a lovely place to come back to after longs days exploring the area and even had decent kitchen knives which we find is a rare thing! The garden was perfect for our dog, very well secure which meant we could let him out in the garden without worrying that he’d try and escape! The only thing we struggled slightly with was the WiFi, which even after rebooting was rather slow. Overall we were sad to leave, can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend :)

My husband and I have been holidaying in Cornwall since we first met some 30 years ago, and these cherished trips have continued as each of our four children have arrived into the world.

The six of us were holidaying just to the North of Bude late in 2010 when we stumbled across Widemouth Bay on a sunny October afternoon. The beach was wide, diverse and spectacular, but the biggest appeal to us was how it belonged entirely to this unassuming coastal village.

From the beach we headed into The Bay View Inn, which being in the Good Food Guide is what brought us to Widemouth in the first place. The pub was homely, the staff friendly, the food great and the views spectacular, and although we thought spontaneity was something from our youth, we finished our meal agreeing that we would try to buy a home in Widemouth Bay for our family to enjoy.

A few months of Internet research followed until a few days before Easter in 2011 we saw Stay come onto the market. We were booked to be in Cornwall over the Easter break, so arranged to view the property and instantly fell in love with its perfect location.

As a family we all lead very busy lives, but Stay has become a haven for us to get away from it all, and we warmly invite you to enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

For us, Bude offers something for the whole family. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, and whilst the town is well-appointed with a healthy choice of shops, pubs and restaurants, it has retained its traditional Cornish charm.

Throw in 3 great beaches, spectacular scenery and some of the best coastal walks, it really does tick all the boxes.

Bude is situated just off the A39 (also known as the Atlantic Highway) which runs parallel to the coastline and provides an easy drive to a host of must-visit Cornish locations to include Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Polzeath, Rock and Padstow.

What makes this property unique

Stay wasn't refurbished simply to be a holiday let - it is our 2nd home. This is evident in the quality of the fixtures and fittings used, and the way it contains everything needed for a true 'home from home' break.

The property sits within Madeira Drive, being a sought-after, no-through road located opposite the entrance to the beach. Madeira Drive is closest to Widemouth's general stores and award-winning Bay View Inn, which is an easy 5 minute walk away, and often a little longer coming back! :o)
