Escape to this cozy waterfront cottage tucked into a quiet, secluded bay on beautiful Oneida Lake. Ideal for couples or families of up to four with small children, Cardinal Cottage offers a comfortable, well-equipped setting for a relaxing lake getaway.

Enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and water sports right from the property’s 100-foot aluminum dock. Guests may bring one boat; smaller boats can tie up at the dock in approximately two feet of water, while a mooring farther out provides about four feet of depth. The property also includes an on-site kayak, canoe, small boat launch, and parking for up to two vehicles plus one small boat trailer.

Make the most of lakefront living with a propane Blackstone 36-inch flat-top griddle, a lakeside deck with dining for four and an umbrella, and lounge chairs for taking in spectacular sunsets. A portable fish-filleting table is also available.

Inside, the cottage has two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and another with twin bunk beds plus a sit/stand desk overlooking the lake—perfect for remote work. Quality linens are provided. The well-stocked kitchen includes counter seating for three, a Keurig, blender, and Crock-Pot. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, a smart TV for streaming, county water, a propane heater, electric stove and oven, refrigerator/freezer, and a small bathroom with a single shower.

Wooden Gazebo/Deck

Guests have exclusive use of the enclosed lakeside gazebo on the adjacent property; it is not shared with neighbors. With wraparound lake views, a queen sleeper futon inside, and outdoor lounge chairs, it is a lovely spot to relax and unwind.

A maximum of two cars may park in the driveway, with space for one small boat trailer on the adjacent lawn.

We loved our stay! The dock was excellent, loved the marker lights on the end too. The cabin was set up very nice and comfortable. We also enjoyed using the tea kettle every night. It went well with the homemade banana nut bread I brought:) Great process of booking through our stay. We just wanted some peace and quiet on the lake and that’s what we experienced! We did go for ice cream once though :)We had a wonderful vacation. We will definitely be booking this again.

This cute property is an adorable cottage with a million-dollar view over lake Oneida. There are amenities galore and the attention to detail was great. Everything needful was provided, it was all comfortable and overall an excellent stay. We very much enjoyed sitting on the deck with coffee looking out over the lake …. It was a truly relaxing and refreshing couples retreat that I highly recommend!

The place was clean but small. You could tell they tried to make it nice. The bunkbed room is extremely small. The microwave never worked but the owner didn't seem to care when I mentioned it. The gazebo which we were excited to spend time in was not good. Messy with tons of webs and dead bugs so we just stayed out. The view was beautiful and the dock was very nice. I got in an accident and asked to check out a little later then 11 am because I was moving slower then usual but she said no. Once we got home we were accused of damaging the porch yet we have video showing we didn't. There appears to be alot of dishonesty, fraud and red flags in the owners accusation. It's very sad and disappointing especially since it was my first experience with VRBO. It's just not worth the headache. Keep looking.

Our listing accurately states that Cardinal Cottage is a cozy, approximately 500-square-foot lake cottage, and the room sizes are reflected in the photos. Regarding the deck, our post-departure inspection documented multiple burn marks consistent with firework use, along with empty firework packages on the property. During our messages after checkout, you acknowledged using fireworks and apologized for the damage. We first attempted to clean the deck before obtaining a repair estimate and sought to resolve the matter privately before opening a VRBO damage claim. We strive to be fair, responsive, and transparent with every guest. Fortunately, the overwhelming majority of our reviews reflect the experience we work hard to provide.
