The Retreat at Hempstead is nestled on five acres in quiet Hempstead, Texas. The property includes a beautiful newly renovated 4900 sq. ft. country home - THE RETREAT HOUSE and a 2160 sq. ft. event venue - THE BARN @ THE RETREAT (requires separate event fees). Whether you are looking for a girl's weekend getaway, family vacation or reunion, birthday or graduation celebration, weddings and anniversaries, scouting weekend or small group/corporate day or night retreat, we have the location just for you!
The Retreat House has 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, and kids/teen sleeping and lounge room. Accommodates 24 people (up to 28 with sofa beds and futons). Large game room includes bar with seating for 4, living room area, dining table seats 14, breakfast room seats 6, and kitchen bar seating. The multi-purpose room with mounted flat screen television is ideal for meetings and presentations, wellness and yoga, arts and crafts.
Enjoy the outdoors bug free on the 2000 sq. ft. screened in patio. Sip and Soak in the Hot Tub and Bar area. Lounge by the fireplace, cook on the grill, dine al fresco or just relax with a good book or take in a sunrise/sunset.
Take a walk on the nature trail, cast your luck in the stocked catch and release pond, take an afternoon nap in one of the hammocks, and end the night with a campfire under the stars.
Plenty of outdoor games and activities for all ages. Basketball, ping pong, volleyball, badminton, archery, horseshoes, corn-hole and more!

Perfect and Peaceful GetawayWe had an amazing stay at this beautiful home! The house was spacious, immaculate, and beautifully designed — perfect for our group. The outdoor space and barn were incredible for our dinner, and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Even when a storm rolled through, the owner went above and beyond by bringing us lanterns just in case the power went out. Wonderful Retreat for the Weekend!
This property was an incredible spot for a ladies retreat weekend, and Jennifer and Tracy were such attentive and helpful hosts! The house was spacious and clean as described, but we especially loved the large screened back porch, hammocks, fire pit, and hot tub areas. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it!

Happiness at Hempstead Retreat
We had about 23 adults and 2 kids with us, the house was PERFECT for all of us, very well-built surrounded by gorgeous scenery, lots to do (games) for entertaining all ages. This was the best place for all of us so far since starting up our Reunions, Thank you!

30th birthday at Hempstead

Great get-together for my dad's birthday

Great Experience!
We enjoyed this property so much. There were plenty of areas to congregate and if we needed downtime lots of lovely bedrooms. The kids enjoyed fishing and playing air hockey in the game room. We had a really wonderful family reunion at this great location!

Definitely a retreat
If you are looking for a quiet, secluded getaway this is it. A peaceful property with lots of good old fashioned fun (hammocking, board games, hot tub, ping pong, fireplace and bond fire, etc.). Plenty of room to spread out and relax.

Our family purchased this property in July 2019 and underwent a three-month renovation. We wanted to be able to share our beautiful retreat we created, hence our name The Retreat at Hempstead, with family and friends. But we didn't stop there and opened our dream getaway to other vacationers and even created an event space, THE BARN at The Retreat, for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, birthdays and more.

The Retreat at Hempstead is our mini resort with so much to do. Soak your worries away in the hot tub or sip your cares away at the outdoor bar. Fishing, horseshoes, archery, ping pong, cornhole, ladder ball, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, air hockey, poker, and games galore. Relax on the 2000 sq ft screened in patio, nap or read a good book in the hammock zone, see the stars and enjoy s'mores at the 625 sq ft flagstone fire pit, listen to the sounds of the lighted fountain or fish for largemouth bass off the floating dock in the 1/2 acre stocked pond.
