Button Bay Road is part of a cruise featured in Best Bike Rides in New England by Paul Thomas.

Birdwatching-
The bay is recommended in Birdwatching in Vermont by Ted Murin and Bryan Pfiefer. There are bald eagles, ducks, geese, loons, herons, etc. Watch osprey’s dramatic aerial show daily from your deck.

Fishing-
Lake Champlain hosts the Annual LCI Father's Day Fishing Derby and nearby Otter Creek is Vermont's longest river, with an unbelievably diverse watershed that attracts fisherman from far and wide.

Local Attractions & Activities-
Button Bay State Park with Nature Center-
A child-friendly pool and beautiful hiking trails. Two public islands in the bay are great to canoe or kayak to from the house. One of them, Button Island, was featured in a 1996 Boston Globe article on the newspaper staff’s fifteen favorite places in New England.

Basin Harbor Club -
Offers an 18-hole championship golf course and fine dining, as well as the Red Mill which is a more casual restaurant/bar. Partnering with Basin Harbor Club is the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum with wonderful history and artifacts. Basin Harbor Club even has its own air strip if you want to fly in, or docks to boat in and grab lunch!

Vergennes-
Just a 10-minute drive to the quaint town of Vergennes, named one of the “nine best small towns for food in the U.S." by Tasting Table online newsletter in October 2016. You will find a local supermarket, numerous great restaurants, art galleries, antiques.

Middlebury-
A wonderful college town approximately 30 minutes away and Burlington, Vermont's largest city, is about 45 minutes away.

Both towns will provide shopping, fine restaurants and historical attractions.

Outstanding location and beautuful views over Lake Champlain from the large upper deck. Saw 3 juvenile eagles and 2 loons. Such a treat! Well appointed kitchen with coffee pots, air fryer, and new major appliances. Large dining table. Nice gas grill on upper deck worked great. The outside space is magic.Check in and out were easy and owner very accommodating. Large new bathrooms. Bring your own shampoos and soaps. You will love Vermont and this location is centrally located and a joy to come home to.

Excellent Stay! House very well appointed, especially the kitchen. Lots of pan choices, great/newer appliances. Handy laundry room w/ storage for off the kitchen. Beds newer and very comfortable. AC units in the right places within the house. While there’s limited space between the house and other homes, we were able to get out 14’ kayaks down to the lower deck, and then down to the shore. The shore is flat shale, no sand. And this part of the lake is very shallow, so while there’s no jumping off the dock, fishing is possible/feasible. Great biking around the area - both paved and gravel. Very quiet part of the lake for good SUP and kayaking. Loved this home. Owner obviously cares for this property and has instilled a lot of creature comforts. Highly recommend!

Family Reunion

We had 3 generations of our family converge on this house and we had a wonderful time. It had easy access to the lake for those who are good with stairs. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, hiking, fishing, shopping, and sunrise coffee on the decks. Marty was a great host!

Great Family Time Getaway

The location was great. There was plenty to do for myself, teenage kids and my parents. The easy access to the lake with the kayaks and to watch the sunset was amazing. The house was clean and had everything we needed to make the stay fun, relaxing and enjoyable. My mom even asked if we would consider going back again next year. Marty was helpful and hospitable.

Lovely lake Champlain House

Property was well equipped, clean and had the most beautiful views! Marty the owner was very available to answer questions about the property and area. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. Gravel road leading to property and several other properties so need to drive slowly up the drive which is not very long so no big deal.

Overall nice and relaxing. Was very disappointed the dock was not available. It was one of the main reasons I chose your location. The house was beautiful. The master shower curtain kept dropping. The master shower mixer valve didn’t work properly, so it was either too hot or too cold. Not sure what we were doing wrong, but the dishwasher didn’t seem to run a full cycle without starting it a few times. The house’s furniture felt very comfortable.

Gorgeous renovation + Great Lake access

The title of this home is perfect... Newly renovated lake house... It was our most comfortable VRBO rental ever, where the pictures UNDERstate the size and comfort of the living area, dining room (with a gorgeous table for 10!), and bedrooms (super comfortable beds and linens)! We loved our morning kayaks on the lake and sunset drinks on the deck!

My wife and I just love to travel and vacation all over the world. However, we were blessed with a son and needed to settle down. We figured if our travel was limited with the little one we should get a home that has the most vacation fun possible....so we did!This was originally our home and we developed it with TLC we hope that you will find it as warm and comfortable as we did. Oh...the home is very 'child friendly' as well.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I Love life in Vermont. We are huge fans if hiking, boating, skiing and snowmobiling. This house placed us directly in the middle of all of this.

Additionally;Burlington,Middlebury and Vergennes provide a nice mix of culture and entertainment. Fort Ticonderoga is rich in history and just across the bridge to NY. We are centrally located just minutes from cultural & entertainment cities so you may enjoy various activities with your friends and family.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique in so many ways. We can accomodate either small or large parties in total comfort. The layout of the house is conducive to allowing several different groups to gather together while each maintaining their privacy.

We have hosted a few family reunions and our guests always compliment us on the fact that no one feels crowded. With two living rooms, office area, 1600 sq feet of outside decks and a dock different age groups tend to gather at various locations throughout the property. The kids have their own living room, adults their area, BBQing on the deck and others on the dock and in the water all at the same time.

Sunsets are incredible over the Adirondacks are breathtaking. Sunrises over the Green mountains are equally as inviting.

Lake access for boats, cross country skiers, ice fisherman, snowmobilers.
