What a place to spend a few days! The kitchen gets the most amazing sunrise for your morning coffee. Lots of wildlife around the area including Howler Monkeys, Capuchin monkeys, armadillo and a small army of hermit crabs. So beautiful and peaceful

Wonderful little house by the sea. The surrounding is absolutely beautiful and the house has so much charm. We spent a great week there despite a bumpy arrival that the owner was quick to react to. This house is in very close proximity to nature, which means that visitors should expect to see some animals around the house and some insects both inside and outside. For those that don't mind that, this house is a real paradise and we spent a wonderful week there.

Our family had such a wonderful, adventurous time at this property! Cabuya is a beautiful spot. While the experience was great, it would be helpful if the listing specified exactly which room has air conditioning to avoid any confusion. We ran into a few hiccups with some of the older appliances, but I can't speak highly enough of the host—they were incredibly responsive and fixed everything for us right away. We truly appreciated their care and would happily recommend this spot to others.

Unique Gem

Beautiful and unique place to stay in Montezuma. Surrounded by wildlife and the ocean and close to amenities. The house had everything we needed and the property manager was so accessible and super helpful. I would recommend this lovely gem to anyone staying in the area.

A wonderful spot with kids. Our kids explored for hours in the garden and tide pools. Listen to the information provided by the host - especially tides and what beach area to use during them. Going down to the rocks and turning right led us to an amazing ocean and lagoon swimming area. The town itself is idealic. We didnt cook, and realized quickly not to leave bananas on the countertop in the kitchen (this home is not "sealed" which is part of its charm!). Lynn was amazing with local recommendations. The neighbors are warm and friendly, my kids loved the daily visits from their sweet dog and I loved waking up to the roosters. Beds were comfortable, showers were hot & wifi was strong. Overall, an amazing trip and we will definitely be back.

Lovely!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Las Rocas! The location was amazing! We had a wonderful view of the ocean and there was a great beach for swimming just a couple minutes walk from the house. The property manager, Lynn, was super helpful in answering all our questions and recommending fun activities in the area. Would definitely stay agian!

Amazing location between montezuma and cabuya

We had a wonderful time! It really is a spectacular location, feels private, and has great beaches within walking distance. The house itself has such a great vibe - you will feel like you are one with nature here - so fun for the kids with all of the lizards and hermit crabs wandering on the property. The towns of montezuma and cabuya are both a very short drive away with amazing restaurants. Highly recommend!

Nothing short of AMAZING

This property absolutely what I was hoping for. The gardens and nature as well as the views were stunning. The vibe of the house was perfect for the setting. And I can’t say enough about Lynn who was so helpful with everything, such an incredible resource.

We Will Be Back!

Everything was perfect! We could have stayed another week or two at least! We loved walking down to the fresh water river and lagoon.All of the food we bought to cook at Las Rocas was wonderful and so fresh! Noa and her daughter Lyn were wonderful hosts! We'll be back!

Amazing location!

We loved our stay at the beautiful property just outside of Montezuma. The peace from the front porch, hammocks, and garden area is incomparable, as is waking up each morning to gorgeous views of the ocean! Enjoy the stars at night from the rocks just in front of the house. We highly recommend this property which is close enough to everything you might want in Montezuma (restaurants, yoga, shops) but far enough to be super tranquil. It very much gets you in the pura vida spirit that is Costa Rica!

Great House! Great Location!

We were very pleased with our recent stay. The house location was exactly what we wanted. Far enough away from town to be peaceful and quiet but close enough that we could take advantage of everything in Montezuma. Tad was very easy to work with during the booking process, even accommodating a last minute change on our end. The check in process was easy. We met Lynn onsite and she explained everything about the house and gave us plenty of pointers on things to do during our stay. Overall we couldn't be more pleased with our stay.

Beautiful

Everything was great. We mostly stayed at the property, but did go to Montezuma a few times to buy produce and visit restaurants. We bought fish from a guy on the side of the road and spent a lot of time in hammocks. The man next door was really friendly and didn't seem to mind that i didn't understand a word of Spanish! I came here to see monkeys and saw so many monkeys at the property.

Perfect oasis

We absolutely loved staying at this magical property. The beach out front has a small space for swimming, which is perfect because nobody else was ever there. Sitting outside in the shaded area to read was particularly peaceful. The place is rustic and yet very well stocked for all your needs. We loved sleeping upstairs in the open space with a few fans. We shared the space with some lovely animals, and had so much fun feeding the hermit crabs, and playing with the puppy visiting from next door. We did have to drive for dinners, but that worked out fine. The restaurants the hosts recommended were truly delicious and special. An amazing stop on our honeymoon trip.

Love love love!

We loved our stay at Casa Las Rocas! The listing and reviews are totally accurate. The home is so unique and has such a beautiful vibe. We cooked all of our meals in the lovely kitchen with the perfect outdoor eating space. The view and nature is spectacular! We woke up to Howler monkeys most mornings! Lynn the onsite property manager was very helpful before the trip, providing guidance and recommendations via WhatsApp and she met us at the property to explain things. We visited over Semana Santa (Easter) weekend so things were busier than usual, including the campsite nearby but we quickly adjusted. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a local, nature filled Costa Rican adventure! Thank you, Tad!

Oceanfront retreat. Serenity, sunsets and solitude

This property is the perfect oceanfront retreat, yet easily accessible to the wonderful village of Montezuma. The compound is large and private, the monkeys and iguanas provide endless jungle entertainment. The evenings are so simple and magical, listening to the waves, enjoying quiet time with friends or family on the terrace, and watching awe inspiring tropical storms from the terrace or upstairs bedroom. It is a place to get back in touch with nature, and yourself. It has a well equipped kitchen and games, cards etc. which we enjoyed together in the evenings. We highly recommend the restaurant called "Cocolores" in Montezuma. The Italian cuisine was the very best I've encountered and rivals anything I've had in Florence, Rome or Naples! We brought several of their entrees and side dishes home each eve to enjoy on the peaceful terrace here at Las Rocas. The owners, Tad and Jana were very helpful, as was the property manager, Leanne and her husband, providing lots of information about the local area, the beaches and good hikes. We loved the canopy zip line over Montezuma Waterfalls. If you are looking for a magical, natural setting, and enjoy privacy, ocean, and simplicity, this is your place.

Jungle House Living!

Our stay at this property was great! Starting with the booking and communication with the property owner. We always heard back very quickly if we had any questions. We were met at the property by Lynn, the property manager upon arrival and she was always more than willing to help with anything or answer any questions that we had about the surrounding area. She even made a special trip to bring coals for the BBQ so that we could cook up our fresh caught fish (caught out front). Montezuma is a quaint village and we enjoyed either walking 25 minutes into town (very scenic) or getting a taxi for 8USD. On days that we didn't go into town we enjoyed spending time at the nearby beach, fishing with the locals or hiking to waterfalls - also very near to the house. The house itself has everything that you need. The reason for only giving 4 stars for property description though was that we were expecting a washing machine but did not see anything available to guests while we were there. We visited in February and the heat was pretty intense. Thank goodness for the newly installed A/C in the downstairs bedroom. It was wonderful! Unfortunately, our friends who were sleeping upstairs found the heat and lack of significant breeze hard to sleep with. Keep this in mind if planning a trip during the hottest months. Other than that it was a great experience that we would definitely recommend to others who are looking for something unique and truly authentic Costa Rican.

The home and property were amazing. We loved the water front views and all of the outdoor space. The host was exceptional and helped us with whatever we needed. She helped us book a fishing charter and we caught wahoo, spanish mackerel and bonita. While staying there we enjoyed all the wildlife that included howler monkeys, coati, tons of hermit crabs, chickens and lots of different bird species. It’s very private and was such a fun experience.

I loved Las Rocas! It was close enough to town, but also quiet and secluded. I loved heating the waves’. The outside kitchen table was our hangout! Ron & Leanne were helpful and available if we needed anything! ♥️🇨🇷

Nature Lovers Dream

We had an amazing time at this amazing, off the beaten path home. Perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy nature. Leanne and Ron were super helpful, providing us with a huge list of recommendations and suggestions. Ron even met us late on arrival night to guide us to the property. Like the description says, you will see and hear tons of wildlife. We enjoyed the monkeys, geckos, iguanas, bats, hummingbirds, hermit crabs, and even the neighbors chickens and dogs. This place is best described as a remote jungle home, right on the beach, yet still close enough to Montezuma for meals, excursions, etc. We had the nearby beach/river to ourselves most days. We do recommend a high clearance vehicle like an SUV for all the potholes and rough gravel/dirt roads. If taking alternate transportation to Montezuma, we would recommend renting an ATV for the week to get around. We rented one for one day and took it to Santa Teresa and beyond to visit multiple beaches. Highly recommended and can't wait to visit again.

Magical!

We had a wonderful family stay in this beautiful spot. You will find Leanne and Ron super helpful in taking care of all your needs and small details like information, maintenance, etc. The property is somewhat off Montezuma, so it's pretty isolated, very quiet and with lots of animals - a unique experience for nature lovers.. Rustic beach casa

We stayed in a wide variety of places while touring Costa Rica. This house was a welcome change to the air conditioned resort in Manuel Antonio. It was peaceful and quiet (except for the birds and monkeys) and exactly like advertised. It is a little remote, but that is what we were looking for. Pura vida!

Authentic Costa Rican home

My husband and I stayed in this house for a week. It is a perfect location if you want an authentic nature type home. There’s no AC but they provide plenty of fans and it gets low enough temp in the evenings that you never feel too hot. Make sure you use the bug net canopy around the bed in upstairs room for extra protection from bugs while you sleep. We never had a bug issue though. We had gotten a big can of OFF and used about two sprays the whole trip. It’s close enough to town that we would drive in town for every meal. You absolutely do need a 4x4 vehicle though. Preferable one that sits high lol Montezuma has a lot of dirt roads and a lot of pot holes. We loved this home so much. We saw howler monkeys above the house on three mornings. They just say up in the trees eating their breakfast and watching us. So cute. Stay here if you want to be close to everything and you want to visit the cute town of Montezuma. We flew into Tambor airport. Super convenient to get to this home. Thanks Leanne, for being awesome and super attentive with any questions I had. We’ll be back!

Ultimate Relaxation Location

This house and location are amazing! The listing is as shown and the manager/host made sure we had everything we needed for an amazing stay. There is so much to do and see in the area, but we found that the property was so beautiful, it was hard to leave. What absolutely fantastic memories we will have from this experience. Everyone in Montezuma was friendly and helpful. It is a nice quiet little town without being totally isolated from activities. This is a perfect choice for those who love outdoor activities in a beautiful setting.
