About this property
Treetops- Stunning Classic, Modernized Chalet w/Mt Leconte view above Gatlinburg
***Level-2 60amp dedicated EV charger!
Treetops Chalet is a cozy cabin but with a free-flowing, open-floor plan containing rustic elements and natural materials, along with oversized windows that allow all areas to enjoy natural light and views through the whole day! Enjoy perfect location as Treetops is nestled close to the borders of the Smoky Mtn N.P. and with only a 5-minute drive to center of Gatlinburg and the main entrance to the Park. Ober Mountain Resort 1 mile away! The Chalet is great if you just want to stay home in nature and enjoy the mountain views. Enjoy excellent 'self-contained' recreation: integrated outdoor spaces with gas grill, hot tub, well equipped kitchen, hi-speed WIFI Internet, Smart TVs, 64-game commercial arcade machine, family games, and books of local interest.
Treetops has the 'bones' of a traditional mountain cabin, but has been modernized with functional high-end, modern finishes common to upscale accommodation that will suit the needs of a family or a small group 6-7 adults (with use of loft twin-daybed). The Chalet can be entered either through the side door by way of a 5-step staircase or the backdoor - accessible by a ramp.
The first floor includes an open, airy living room/dining room/kitchen that are fully renovated yet maintain the classic lodge atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and has black-steel appliances while the living room includes a riverstone wood-burning fireplace with large, pull-down 65” Smart TV. These spacious common areas have been tastefully renovated to complement the natural setting while the kitchen and bathrooms have been completely modernized with walk-in showers and glass partitions. Downstairs is a king bedroom with wall mounted Smart TV, modernized bathroom, and utility/wash room with door exiting to back deck. The second floor includes a modern bathroom, and individual king and queen bedrooms with wall mounted Smart TVs alongside the open loft area that is equipped with daybed for supplemental reading/relaxing next to a side wall of windows and an authentic cocktail-style arcade machine.
The Chalet is situated on top of a wooded ridge with expansive views of the forest and mountain views from all rooms. The front wall of windows is set up high, looking towards Mt. Leconte in the Smoky Mountains. The back and sides also have custom, oversized bedroom windows that take in the peaceful, wooded setting of the opposing mountain ridges. The location is heavily wooded with flowering mountain laurel bushes but opening to capture good view of the surrounding ridges. Through much of the year you are likely to have daily black bear sightings as a bear trail runs along the ridge behind the Chalet.
Treetops has a front deck with café tables that make it the perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee or enjoy the sunset reflected off Mt Leconte in the early evening. In back you will find 2 decks with a favorable shady setting in the forest with views of the mountains. This upper deck contains a hot tub and the lower deck a Weber gas grill along with dining area . The area is perfect for enjoying the afternoon and early evening, as it is largely shielded from direct sunlight, but captures the last light of the day. Day turns into night with suspended, LED patio lights allowing entertaining into the evening!
Access to the Chalet Village members' clubs in summer expands the recreational possibilities. Homeowner's clubs include swimming pools, tennis courts, playground, fitness center and other facilities are available to guests during season (end of May through end of August for pools). Treetops is only half a mile to the South Chalet Village owner’s club with the largest pool, located at 1319 South Baden Dr. Ober Mountain Ski Resort and Amusement Park, downtown Gatlinburg including Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, and the main entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park as well as park visitor center (Sugarlands) are approx. 5 min. drive away. Dollywood and the attractions of Pigeon Forge are a short 10-mile drive.
For larger groups, Treetops can potentially be rented jointly with our property Honey Bear Chalet (150 ft away) - vrbo.com/1202547.
