We were there for 2 nights. It was clean, and rustic. I enjoyed watching it snow fall while I drank my coffee. I would definitely stay here again as it was a short drive to Lexington. Thsnk you!
You can feel the history of this place while it still has all the modern amenities. It was very unique, cozy and secluded but still within 15-20 minutes of anything you could want. The stone stairway up to the cabin absolutely does add to the charm and was fine for us to navigate but I could see where it could be a little difficult for those with mobility issues. Definitely would stay here again if we are back near Lexington!
The property was full of character. It was decorated tastefully. The bed was very comfortable with great bedding. We enjoyed the history of the property. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.
It was a very cute cabin. Also very quiet location. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you

Great Stay, Price Reflects Property
Overall, this was perfect for our weekend! It is fantastic to see something in its original condition. Owners were upfront about the size and the unique challenges of old structures. The only problem would be that the bathroom and shower need some TLC due to peeling wallpaper. In addition, the parking space was a little tight for our vehicle. We made it work, but parking was a challenge. For under 80 a night - no complaints! However if price were to increase we probably wouldn’t stay again unless there were upgrades.
Stayed here 2 nights at the end of our babymoon trip. Cabin was as described on site and located on a quiet street. Appreciated the local suggestions in the guestbook. Very peaceful and relaxing stay and would recommend to anyone looking for the same.
Great location and perfect for a long weekend. As mentioned in the description the steps to the house are a little daunting and steep but we did enjoy the house and loved we could being our pup with us. You can't beat the price for this house. Make sure to swing by Proud Mary's BBQ right down the road for good food and music!
We found multiple restaurants nearby which were all very good. We came for a concert at the Rupp Arena and the cabin was conveniently located. We especially enjoyed hiking at nearby Ravens Run. The communication with the host was excellent and the cabin was a special treasure! We were blessed to make some treasured memories!
Rustic/ modern mix just off the highway. Friendly neighbors who minded their own business and we had no problems whatsoever.
10 minutes away from downtown Lexington, yet felt like we were in the middle of small town USA.
I would definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.
Loved our stay and was sorry we had only stayed one night. Very well-equipped quaint and cozy cottage in a very pretty setting. Surprised to find something like this so conveniently located. We’ll be back!
Very cute and peace place. Truly and old cabin, low ceilings. Steps are step and corners are tight in places. Shower is very small. But very relaxing and just right off the interstate but on a very calm street. I didn’t see anyone else at all.
We wanted a different experience and this cabin provided. It was decorated appropriately and quite cozy. There were some cracks in the planks and possibility of critters getting in but we had not issues with that. Fun cabin adventure stay.

About the host
Hosted by Laura Ratliff
Our Family loves farming and living in rural Lexington, not far from the Cabin. Laura is a native to the area and grew up on the same road we live on. We attend church close by where Chris serves as the youth director. Their 3 daughters are active in the family business and enjoys leaving special treats for youngsters that are staying with us.
Why they chose this property
This 1907 cabin will take you back into time. You won't even feel like your 15 minutes from the city. The nostalgia and the coziness of this beautiful home will encourage you to rest, relax and tap a nap. While we would encourage you to unplug and play some board games or enjoy sitting outside listening to the ripple of the river, we realize you may have to work or check in with the world via internet so high speed wireless internet is also available.
What makes this property unique
This cabin was built in 1907 and while clean, sturdy, and cozy, it does have the character of some un-level original hardwood floors. The loft with 2 twin beds is accessed by a ladder only so picturing a scene from Little House on the Prairie should help you understand the cool factor of your stay.
