The listing show 3 beds and sleeping 6. Also coffee maker. It has 2 beds. When i ask how 6 sleep i was told look for air mattress. No bedding for air mattress or sofa. No coffee maker. Water pressure NOT.
Unfortunately our stay was cancelled after we were given the “keys” to the house, less than 24 hours before arrival because the owner double booked. Because it was so last minute on a holiday weekend, we couldn’t find another home to stay in and ended up having to book a hotel. Vrbo compensated us a bit we still ended up with a more expensive bill. We are very disappointed in the owner and Vrbo for not making right something that wasn’t our fault.
If you want to feel unsafe, climb a stairway with filthy carpet to reach a door that looks like it has been involved in a domestic dispute, then walk inside to a hot apartment with 3 window AC units this is your place. The outside of the property looks nothing like the photos. The space is listed as a condo in a middle class neighborhood, it’s an apartment in a low income neighborhood. Only 2 AC units were running when we arrived. All of us in our party felt very unsafe, we left and notified the owner we would not be staying. We requested a refund, which he denied.
I was concerned about my decision to reserve this property after reading a recent review. When we arrived, though, I wasn't sure what the fuss was about. We never felt unsafe for the 5 nights that we stayed. There weren't people loitering around, no graffiti, etc. The area was quiet. Yes, the carpet on the stairs to the entrance of the apartment has seen better days. More like it was there when the updating was being done and got some stains. It certainly didn't smell and it wasn't ripped to cause a trip hazard. We only saw it in the morning when we left, and in the evening when we came back, so it didn't bother us. All 3 of the air conditioners worked well and kept us comfortable in the heat. The apartment was bright and clean. It's in an older building, but there was no old building smell, no bugs or critters seen. The main con to the rental was that the shower had a sweet spot for getting much of any water pressure and it was apparently the warm water pipe so you had to turn it off until you were ready to rinse off so you wouldn't get burned. As it's an older building, the updating wasn't perfect, but for the reasonable price of this unit, I don't need perfect. The location was convenient to many downtown sites, the fair, Como park, the Mall of America and the airport. We have no regrets about choosing this property for our stay.
