Ausable River Cottage

Enjoy the tranquility and solitude of the North Woods in our 3 BR, 1.5 BA cottage, located on the Upper main branch of the Au Sable river between Grayling and Gaylord in Fredric Michigan.
Ideal for several couples or a large family and perfect for the up north get away. One BR with a queen size bed and a full BA on the main floor, and 2 BR and a 1/2 BA on the second floor, 2 full size beds in one bedroom and a queen size bed in the other bedroom with a balcony overlooking the River. A full size kitchen and a wood burning fireplace adds to the rustic feel. Close to all attraction the North provides - blue ribbon trout fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling, hunting,skiing and much more. One dog allowed with an additional daily fee of $35.00 per day per pet.

A relaxing getaway

My husband and I brought our 2 kids, ages 15 and 12, to Michigan for a little getaway for a few days. The cottage was great, very clean and comfortable. The views off of the balcony and deck were great. We would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful location and very comfortable, quiet and Clean cabin!

We loved the quiet location and comfortable cabin . It was only a few minutes from several state parks and also Grayling and Gaylord for supplies and gas. We highly recommend Frederic Inn for great Mexican food and only 3 minutes away! The only issue we had was with our VRBO account on the day of our trip, but thank goodness we heard back from Rosemarie, the property owner.

This is second time we stayed and had an absolutely fabulous time from hanging out olaying in river to visiting other areas. 10 ot of 10 for us. Cabin was cozy and relaxing couldnt ask for a better time

Very nice and quaint. Dock to the river was great; beautiful woods setting. Well stocked kitchen. Could use a new bbq grill, but overall very nice.

Quiet little cottage in the river

Rosemarie was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. Check in process was very easy, had a great time relaxing on the river. Our two dogs had a great time as well. Cottage had all the essentials we needed. We will be visiting again. Also just an fyi there is a neighbor right next door with a dog, but they are also friendly and were gone most of the time.

Beautiful and Clean

Home is nice and clean. Kitchen well stocked. View of the river is beautiful. Our second time there. Great for kids, adults and the pets. This was our second time at this home and we will be back next year. Cannot go wrong with the home or view. Enjoyed the AC and extra seating on the deck. Thanks again see you next year.

Older cottage but clean and comfortable

It is a nice place to stay. The river is very relaxing and offers some decent trout fishing. The neighbor “Jeff” is super friendly and is gone most the day so very quiet location. Only complaint: the outside grill…not good, one of those old state park type grills. Luckily my brother brought a small grill for us to use. But all in all worth the money to us as it was a perfect location for seeing family and friends. One observation: the house rules state that the wood stove cannot be used but it’s advertised in an amenity.

ADORABLE LITTLE PLACE ON THE RIVER

We had a absolutely wonderful time. THe pictures of the river don't do this place justice. The water is crystal clear and nice and cool for the hot days. We waded in the water a few times and enjoyed the tranquility of the location. Super quiet here. The neighbor closest on the one side wasn't there so it was super secluded. Recommend going downtown Grayling. Excellent restaurants there. We rented a pontoon and went out on Otsego Lake which is only about 15 minutes away. We had a blast! Everything we needed was supplied in the house. Very cute and clean. We're looking forward to staying again :)

We had a great stay on Cindy Lane! The setting on the AuSable is enchanting! The cabin was spacious, well equipped, and very clean. Campfires and music ended our days!

Mostly as pictured. Don’t be fooled by the listing saying it has AC, which is true, it does, however it’s a small window unit in the dining area and no way does it do anything for any other room. Which is why each room has at least one fan, some have two. Unfortunately, you can’t open windows to the screen for a lovely evening breeze…you can also tell that dogs are allowed by the amount of “hair” under beds and around baseboards. Overhead kitchen lights don’t work. There was a dishpan under the kitchen sink that was half full of disgusting black moldy stinky water that I had to throw outside. The best thing it has going for it is the beautiful setting.

Overall stay was great! Enjoyed the cabin and the property, loved the seclusion. Could have used an extra helping of napkins, roll of paper towels, more than one extra garbage bag, and maybe emergency flashlights in case of any power outages. enjoyed the walkout deck to the river.

Quilt shop hop northern Michigan

Was a nice stay definitely good cabin vibe. In the woods. If you like the woods and river side and cabin feel this is one for you. We loved the deer that came to the back yard while we were there. Close to Grayling and Gaylord.
