Overall, the property was nice and a good value for the price. The bunk beds were a bit wobbly and could use tightening, as another guest had also mentioned in the guest book. The house also had an odor when we first arrived. We eventually got used to it, but we did purchase a few gel air fresheners to help. We also found a cockroach near the bunk beds and bought roach traps. The biggest issue during our stay was the washer and dryer. We successfully did a load of laundry on the first day, but during the second load we noticed a burning smell. When we went outside, we saw smoke coming from the washer. Thankfully we were there and acted quickly—I turned the washer off and unplugged it before it could become a fire hazard. As a result, we were without a washer and dryer for the remainder of our trip. We were also interrupted several times by plumbers and delivery personnel attempting to replace the washer, but they were ultimately unable to install a new one during our stay. The rental company did offer to let us drop off laundry, but the location was about 35 minutes away off the island, which wasn’t practical. We tried it once before deciding it wasn’t a workable solution. They did pickup and drop off the last day. Aside from the washer/dryer issue, the house was fine overall. There was nothing outstanding about it, but nothing else significantly wrong either. While we probably wouldn’t choose to rent this property again, we felt it was reasonably priced for what we paid.
