WHAT'S INCLUDED: The Cabin is fully stocked for your needs. We provide pantry supplies, kitchen condiments, teas and coffee, towels & linens, and first class finishes throughout. We also share our collection of navigational maps, hiking guides and adventure books, grill, and top area picks when requested. Some fly fishing gear and “townie” bikes may be available; ask if you’re interested.. Some items require reasonable advanced notice.
MORE ON THE AREA: Reflection Cabin is in a picture perfect natural setting. Bright sunny mornings, moonlit evenings. The cabin is sheltered under the crags and cliffs of Little Prospect Mountain just upstream of the convergence of two snow-fed mountain rivers. Redemption is on the east side the Big Thompson River as it enters historic downtown to meet Fall River. An open treed riverbank is just across a narrow street. The road is used by pedestrians, bikers, horse carriages, motor vehicles, and buses; and the river is used by fly fishermen, tubers, and kayakers. The riverside is for outside meals, coffee, reading, and solitude.
IDEAL WALKABLE LOCATION: At This Mountain Life, you get a great walkable location. Getting to Historic Downtown is a simple downstream stroll along a cabin filled lane. There you will find the best of Estes Park's local attractions, festivals, restaurants, coffee houses, wineries, craft beer breweries, retail shopping, green parks, outdoor concerts, riverwalks, hiking paths, and other exciting places to be active or quiet. The Historic Clatworthy Studio, and Eagles Landing Restaurant are upstream to our immediate South. Piccadilly Square, Rock Cut Tap House, Estes Angler, Hunan’s Chinese Restaurant, Day Salon, Fun City, Sweet Basilico Italian Restaurant, Rock Climbing School, Estes Park Microbrewery, and Open Air Adventure Park are a short walk around the river's bend. Entrance into Rocky Mountain National Park, its wilderness, alpine lakes, trails and spectacular scenery is just 2 miles north or 3 miles west. A few reminders for 2024 Summer guests … Make sure to get your RMNP Timed Entry permits for access the park between 9am - 2pm. For more info, go to https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086910. A a few days before your arrival date we will be sending you Arrival & Access Instructions that will guide you to your guesthouse and help you to get settled in.
The property is tightly situated between crags of the Little Prospect Mountain and the winding Big Thompson River. It sits among diverse nature in a semi-urban setting. From towering blue spruce to champion poplars. Mountain chickadees to green winged swallows, eagles and hawks, chipmunks to bobcats, deer, and elk. There’s a rushing snow fed mountain river, passing pedestrians, and multi-modal vehicles of all sizes and shapes.
R is close to all the action yet set far enough apart to be peaceful, quiet and private. It's a short walking distance down east riverside to the center of downtown Estes Park. All year the river plays white water songs. For short periods of time here and there, roadway traffic can be seen and vehicle sounds can be heard.
This Mountain Life guests easily access the best Estes Park has to offer. From riverwalks to fishing spots, public parks, top restaurants, festivals, venues, craft merchants and shops, breweries, wineries, and sweet shops. From care free strolls to heart pounding treks. All this and more just moments out the door.
Then, for amblers to scramblers, they set out further for some life changing expeditions. Guests that venture into Rocky Mountain National Park and nearby high mountain ranges find world class scenic drives and wilderness trailheads, unsurpassed wildlife, hiking, backpacking and climbing, pristine nature trails up bubbling brooks and cascading waterfalls, through lush basins, wild flower fields, and chaos canyons to stair-stepping pools and alpine lakes, frozen tarns, imposing glaciers, snowcapped massifs, tantalizing 13’ners and 14,000′ sawtooth ridges. Looping back whenever, wherever, their heart’s content. Never feeling so alive.
This Mountain Life guidebooks and top picks make for great guest experiences, rest, recalibration, rejuvenation, wellness from easy going to vigorous mountaintown living.
REFLECTION CABIN’s parking space is limited to compact vehicles only. For free front door parking, no vehicles longer than 14.75 feet. For larger vehicles, free and paid off-site parking is your option. See rental agreement for details.
Outside security cameras are on the premises. If you would like them off during your stay please speak with owner.
For this summer, you may want to use an alternate route to your cabin utilizing a bypass to avoid construction work connected with the downtown highway realigning “Loop”. During your visit, you may encounter higher volumes of detouring traffic and sounds of construction activity. The closest construction is across the river on West Riverside Drive with limited visibility from your cabin and you might hear it outside or on a walk toward downtown. We believe inside your cabin it will be quiet and cozy as usual. Some of the ongoing work is slated to be completed as the season progresses. Construction work is limited to 7am to 7pm. If we learn anymore we will let you know. Notwithstanding the traffic disruptions, we are confident you (coming with a little extra humor and grace) can experience the best of This Mountain Life, Estes Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park. The digital map in the photo gallery shows the winding Moccasin Bypass from your point entering town (Highway 34 or 36) to your cabin front door. This route will divert you from traffic disruptions. Can't wait to see you!
