About this property

Charming Cabin In The Pines

Our cozy, charming cabin has everything you might need for an amazing, peaceful or adventurous, stay near Rocky Mountain National Park (4.7mi or a 12 min drive). Nestled in the trees on 1 acre in a quiet residential neighborhood, quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. We have plenty of free parking in the private driveway, easy access summer or winter. 4 steps with a sturdy handrail lead from the driveway up to the deck and front door. (We live right across the road in case you need anything during your stay but insure you have the privacy you need.)

Our cabin is conveniently located on the south side of town, between Highways 34 & 36, no need to fight summer in-town traffic after a long day of hiking or exploring. And yet we are just a 6 min drive or very pleasant 2 mile walk along the paved Lake Estes trail to the center of downtown.

Our cabin is a short 2 minute walk to the paved Lake Estes Trail which will lead you to several beautiful spots in Wapiti Meadows for fly-fishing on the Big Thompson River or to the Estes Lake Marina. Following the Lake Estes Trail the other direction will lead you to Lake Estes picnic spots, Stanley Park which has a beautiful, clean playground and a fun zip line for kids, or to Estes Park Visitor's center (1.5mi) where you can find lots of ideas for fun things to do or pick up the RMNP shuttle or shuttle to downtown. The Farmer's Market is held here in the Visitor's Center parking lot Thursday mornings during the summer. The famous Roof Top Rodeo is held the second week in July.

Enjoy your morning coffee/tea or evening wine on our quiet deck, shaded by beautiful Ponderosas. Save on meals with our gas grill or well-stocked kitchen for quick and easy dinners. Our deck is perfect for viewing frequent wildlife passing by or enjoying a peaceful view, at the start or end of your day, of Mount Olympus and a sweet meadow where deer and elk frequently graze.

Our cute cabin is comfortably suited for 4 guests with
2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The cabin arrangement offers privacy as the bedrooms and bathrooms are on opposite sides of the cabin, separated by the kitchen and living room. The front bedroom has a queen bed and the front bathroom has a tub and shower. (The second bedroom currently has a bunk bed with full/double bunks top and bottom.) The back bathroom has a shower and a full size washer and dryer. *PLEASE NOTE: BEGINNING JANUAURY 2026 THE BACK BEDROOOM WILL HAVE ONE QUEEN BED instead of the full size bunkbeds.

We offer free WiFi and Direct TV, a wood-burning fireplace with free firewood provided. The full-size kitchen has a full-size range and refrigerator, a microwave, toaster and crockpot, Keurig and regular coffee maker. Spices, tea, coffee, hot choc, popcorn and basic condiments are provided. You are welcome to use what you find in the kitchen. Many guests leave what they haven't used for the next guests. The dining area has seating for 6.

Estes Park offers a variety of activities, hiking, shopping, miniature golf, bumper cars and boats, mountain coaster, Jeep tours of RMNP, off-roading, rock climbing, horseback riding, dining, golfing, wildlife viewing. If you have questions, send us an email.

This property has security cameras, one near the front door which covers the front door, front deck, front stairs and driveway and one near the back door which covers the back door and back step and one near the slider on the back deck which covers the sliding door and the back deck.

Come stay at our charming mountain cabin for your best vacay ever.

Check-in was seamless. The property is cozy/authentic, feature rich, super clean and 100% functional. Location is 10/10. Joy is extra friendly and responsive when we had questions. This is my 3rd or 4th VRBO stay in recent years. And, while they've all been positive experiences, this one exceeds by a wide margin.

We loved this property! It had everything we needed and more. It isn't too often you rent a place that looks better in person than in the pictures. The location was perfect! The owners were great as well!

Great location, very comfortable

Close to town, close to RMNP. Very clean, quiet, comfortable. Great views from the deck. Manager Laura gave us great restaurant recommendations. We were looking to get away from it all for a week and this was the perfect cabin to do it. We plan to stay here again when we return.

Wonderful!

We loved staying here! This was the most well stocked VRBO we have ever stayed in and we enjoyed being close to everything. Our kids loved playing in the yard and seeing Elk across the street on multiple occasions. The owners are very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank-you for a great stay in Estes!

Great Property! Comfortable and Cozy!

Our family of 4 stayed here while we visited Rocky Mountain Park and Estes Park area. It was perfect! The house was very clean and we felt very comfortable while we were there. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals and the grill on the deck was fabulous! I also appreciated having a washer and dryer available to use. The property manager, Laura, was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Experience

We had a lovely stay at this cabin! It is very comfortable and has all the amenities you could possibly need. It was snowy while we were in town, so we especially appreciated the snowshoes and the fireplace! And if you, like us, need to do some work while you're in town, the internet is very reliable. The communication with the hosts was super easy an they made sure we had everything we needed. Overall we had a great experience an I would recommend this cabin to anyone!

Perfect Cabin!

My family and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. The owners were very kind and hospitable. It’s was extremely clean and user friendly. Located 5 minutes from the grocery store and down town made everything very convenient. My kids could not be happier seeing the Elk roam through the yard, sledding in the back yard and warming up next to the fireplace. This was the most relaxing vacations I ever had. Thank you!

fantastic stay

The place was great. The owners were in touch nearly instanly when we needed anything. They also did a great job with the little things - spices in the pantry, soap/shampoo in the shower. The only knock I have is that the sleeping space was not quite as advertised. The top bunk had very little room before you hit the fan. Overall, this was the best vrbo I've been at and the owners were fantastic.

Estes Park Cabin is a Jewel

This cabin was exactly as advertised. It was clean, comfortable and had the most well-stocked kitchen we have ever seen. The gas grill was immaculate, which is unheard of for rentals in our experience. A heard of elk surrounded the cabin one evening while we were relaxing on the new composite deck. We also saw deer several times and even a bear with cub one evening. The owners are nearby and easy to contact by text if you need them. Location is good and has a great view. We will stay here again.

Excellent!!

Do not hesitate to book this cabin! Joy was great with communication. The cabin is very, very clean and we loved its charm. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need, plus some. We really enjoyed the fireplace, wood provided! We visit Estes Park every year but this was out first year staying in a cabin, best way to go! We look forward to returning in the future! This was a very relaxing Spring Break retreat for a very tired teacher! Thanks for the hospitality!

This property was exactly what we expected and saw in the VRBO website.

Joy and Rich were amazing property owners. They greeted us upon arrival and told us everything we needed to know for our stay at the cabin. Someone was always available for any questions or needs we might have during our stay. The location of the cabin was great- Close to town-but we had our privacy also. The new deck on the outside of the cabin was wonderful to sit on in the early morning and watch the sunrise. This was the perfect place for our family of four to stay for an entire week and enjoy Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. We have stayed at VRBO sites many times-and this was one of the best! Everything was so clean!

Hope to Return

Glad we checked in before shopping at Safeway... our hosts provided several Keurig coffee flavors, fresh mayo, ketchup, etc. No need to buy many staples for a few days' stay! The mountain cabin was very clean, well-equipped, and located a short drive from town. It took about 15 minutes to reach the Beaver Meadows entry into RMNP. Our hosts were easy to contact and very helpful. We would come back in a hot minute!

Home away from home

Like many vacationers in 2020 our travel plans to Amsterdam got canceled due to COVID. We needed some R&R, and since we've had Estes Park on our list of travel destinations we chose to finally visit Estes Park. What an awesome place to enjoy the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park where we hiked a few trails. We can't wait to return! As for Rich and Joy's "Cabin". It's really a small home. It's home away from home. Comfy & cozy! When we return to Estes, this is where we are staying!

Exactly what we needed to get aware we

Started the trip with fantastic communication from all involved which continued throughout the entire time we were there. Directions to the cabin were precise and easy to follow and the cabin was better than the write up on VRBO describes. Beer in the frig was the only surprise, and that was a great surprise when we arrived-perfect timing. Cabin is decorated exactly the way a mountain cabin should be, great overstuffed furniture to relax in and read a book or watch The Shining. Quiet area was exactly what we were looking for, deer in the yard on Monday was a great treat but we weren't surprised as Laura told us that they were hanging around. We definitely felt that this was the best cabin rental we have ever had-it was worth every centThank you Rich, Joy and Laura we will be back.

The house is not a lake front, but a mountain property. The stay was exceptional, as the house was comfortable and cozy, with. Very well stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable, showers were excellent with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The laundry room was well equipped. The location was quiet and relaxing. The owners were friendly, responsive and genuinely nice people. I would definitely stay again!

We have vacationed in Estes Park since the 1970's, so when it was time to retire we chose the most beautiful place we know. We live right across the road from our vacation cabin which was recently our home.

Why they chose this property

Charming, historic forestry service cabin, built in 1945, on 1 acre in a very quiet wooded neighborhood, beautiful mountain view, great for a relaxing vacation yet minutes to Rocky Mountain National Park, downtown, outdoor activities or shopping and restaurants. You choose, an active, 'on-the-go' vacation, close to the Lake Estes trail, or a peaceful, relaxing get-away. This is the perfect setting for either.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful 'cabin in the woods'; yet still close to town in a residential neighborhood, perfect for a couple or two or family. Pack 'n Play available on request. We have a full kitchen perfect for dining at home, (put dinner in the crockpot while you enjoy the area) or many restaurants to choose from within minutes. Hiking trails or fishing in the Big Thompson just a couple minutes walk from your front door.
We will send you contact information when you book your stay and directions and access instructions shortly before your arrival.
