The place is absolutely beautiful, with a dreamy kitchen, too. (Because of Covid, we ate in more often than we might on vacation, and I loved cooking in this kitchen!) The location was perfect, so close to everything. We really enjoyed Fleur de Sel (restaurant about one minute walk away), as well as the market in front of St. Catherine. There are tons of great spots within walking distance for apero, pastries and bread, a full meal, coffee, or whatever else you need. The local shops and art galleries were fun to explore and people were so friendly.
The townhouse is enormous and very well appointed. All three of our children were able to have their own bedrooms and the common areas were comfortable and great for eating and socializing. Both bathrooms are renovated, and one even has a tub (heavenly, especially after staying in a studio apartment in Paris). The internet worked well, too, and we were able to telework and stream sports in the US, very important to our children. (Less so for me, but there was plenty of space to escape, both in the property and out and about, so this was a win for everyone!)
The location was great, perfect for day trips. We visited Le Havre, Deauville, Rouen (for Christmas Day with family), and Etretat. (Special note for golfers: We played in Deauville and Etretat and really enjoyed both. The views from the cliffs are absolutely magnificent. It was easy to rent clubs and get tee times, even without a French golf license.) We also took a day long tour of the Normandy beaches with a personal guide, which we highly recommend. We arrived from Paris by car and the drive was quite easy. When we left, we headed to Le Mans, another easy drive, for another family gathering. Parking was super easy.
Lesley is such a great host and was very helpful in providing local information and answering any other questions we had. She is very quick to respond. We were there over Christmas, so she asked beforehand if we would like a few decorations. We did and they were so pretty! Perfect for our stay.
Thank you so much, Lesley. We had a wonderful time and your beautiful home was a big part of that!
