Fabulous Apartment in the Heart of Oban overlooking the beautiful Bay

Argyll Mansions is an imposing sandstone Victorian building with a prominent waterfront position. Beautifully presented and spacious, this 3rd floor three bedroom apartment oozes charm and elegance. It sleeps up to five, so is large enough for a family but is cosy enough for two and is centrally situated on the third floor of the prestigious, Category B listed building. Built between 1905/07, Argyll Mansions has been described as “one of Scotland’s finest tenements” and represents a late work by architect William Leiper, with stunning panoramic views over Oban Bay and the islands beyond of Kerrera, Mull & Lismore.
Everything is on your doorstep, from Oban’s many renowned restaurants in the town and surrounding area to its many curio shops and streets to keep you busy and entertained. There is also a two screen cinema and a leisure centre. Or you might enjoy taking a walk down to the beaches at Ganavan, or a short ferry trip to the Island of Kerrera with its very own castle, and in summer a Tearoom! Oban is known as the "Seafood Capital of Scotland" with a fishing boat fleet in the bay, a good range of seafood restaurants and an excellent fish shop, and it is also known as the “Gateway to the Isles” with its busy Calmac ferry terminal for trips to Mull, Colonsay, Mull, Tiree, Lismore and Barra.

Beautiful Location

Perfect location for access to Mull and beyond. The flat is lovely, beds were outstanding, and fully stocked kitchen with washer and dryer was much appreciated. Certainly would recommend to others.

What a location!

We loved our stay at this beautiful apartment. With its breathtaking views and clean, comfortable accommodations. We had everything we needed here to feel right at home. I wish we could have stayed longer to explore Oban a little more, but we had a wonderful time here and you could not ask for better location.

Lovely Appartment

We enjoyed our stay here. Very spacious and immaculate apartment right in the centre of Oban harbour. Beautiful views over the sea from the front of the building and views of McCaig’s tower at the back. We’d definitely stay here again in the future.

Great location

We felt lucky to be staying in such a lovely apartment in a prime location - fantastic views and right on the main street. Enjoyed some trips to Lismore, Mull and the local castles and beaches. Recommend the apartment and Oban.

The Center of Oban

This property faces the port of Oban. Lovely apartment with three beds. We really enjoyed Oban and having an apartment nearby was really worth it.

Excellent location to explore Oban and the Western Isles. Apartment very comfortable, capable of facilitating a family holiday, close to all facilities in Oban and surrounding region of Argyle and Bute. Need to address the incoming of rain water via the window frames during inclement weather.

Central, walkable with stunning views

As noted in the title, everything at your fingertips. Stunning views of harbour and mountains. Just a note for those with limited mobility - there are quite a few stairs involved but that pretty much was everywhere I stayed in Scotland. Overall, clean, beautiful and a very attentive host.

Oban Argyll Mansion

This property is dead center of the main street overlooking the bay. Perfect location. Excellent accommodations. I have to really work hard to come up with anything negative. The only thing I can think of is that it would have been nice if the lights in the stairway had been motion activated.

Highland Odyssey

Lovely stay in Oban in a well equipped, well located apartment. Amazing views and close to local restaurants and amenities. Good base to explore the wider Highlands. The apartment can sleep 5 comfortably so for 2 of us was brilliant. As others have said 72 steps up to the 3rd floor is a challenge after a day exploring but hey, keeps you fit !!

Oban in August-

Its a beautiful old apartment with separate living-kitchen-dining rooms. I wholly recommend but do note that there are ~70 stairs to access, so not suitable for less mobile folks, there is only one bathroom/toiler and there is no associated parking (but there is cheap parking very nearby).

Best View in Oban

Rather “puffed” after scaling 72 steps with our luggage, but the facilities once up there made us feel at home. The views of the bay, with ferries and other craft constantly on the move, were a joy to see. We explored the islands of Lismore, Kerrera and Easdale via the various small ferries in perfect summer weather. Dunollie Castle was an interesting place to visit, and the food excellent. The TV reception was poor though, ‘mosaics’ spoiling the picture. Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy Oban and surrounding area once again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious apartment with its lovely views over looking the bay.Even out of the windows at the back there was an interesting view of a folly lit up at night with blue lights. If you don’t mind climbing 72 steps you’ll be happy with the result.One negatives we had was that there was no free street parking and sorting out the £30 parking tariff for a week was difficult because the website of the Argyll and Bute Council was poor but the tourist information office were very helpful.Another was that the oven in the apartment was very fierce and we think this could be mentioned in the information pack.

Lovely holiday in Oban

A lovely property with excellent views. Great location in the town though the 72 steps and lack of parking are a challenge with bags. The oven thermostat didn’t seem to work so the oven got extremely hot. Overall a lovely apartment, a great place to stay and a lovely holiday. The information provided in the property was very good apart from the instructions about where to empty the bins.

Argyll Mansions , great location in the centre of Oban in an iconic building on the waterfront with beautiful views out over the bay , very comfortably furnished, spacious and clean, an excellent kitchen with necessary appliances , included good WIFI. We have scored location as 5 but would note that location is on the 3rd floor with stair access only which some may find a challenge. The apartment was very welcoming for the Christmas season in true festive spirit. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return and stay in this beautiful apartment.

Excellent stay.

Excellent apartment with fantastic views of Oban's main street, the harbour and adjacent islands. Something to see at all times! Apartment was very comfortable and roomy. Couldn't hear any neighbours at all. Great base to explore surrounding areas. Only drawback is the three flights of stairs when carrying luggage!
