Traditional scottish farm cottage with Highland Cows on your doorstep
West Ferlochan is a well appointed 4 star traditional Scottish hill farm cottage in Benderloch. Our cottage, near Oban, is in a tranquil location close to Loch Creran. It is situated by the A828 Oban/Fort William road and therefore provides excellent access to the best of the West Highlands and a whole range of recreational facilities. Just a 20 minute drive to Oban - "the Gateway to the Isles" or a 50 minute drive to Fort William - described as "the outdoor capital of the UK".
On the first floor there are two main bedrooms, each with 6ft beds (which can be divided into twins if requested) with views overlooking the farm and onto the two small lawns to the front and rear of the cottage. Both rooms have Smart HD Ready LED TV's on the wall as well as vanity dressing tables. Bed linen is provided along with a hand and bathroom towel for each guest. The first floor bathroom has a bath with a shower unit, hand basin and WC. Guests are provided with toiletries which include hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and bath soap.
Downstairs there is a smaller children's bedroom with twin 2'6" beds (which can be made into a double bed if required). There is a bathroom with a shower cubicle, hand wash basin and WC.
The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with utensils, pots and pans, filter coffee machine, electric oven and hob, microwave, sink, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The dining table seats 6 comfortably. There is a limited amount of tea and coffee, semi skimmed milk, salt, pepper and sugar provided. The cottage has a filter coffee machine however guests are required to provide their own coffee for this.
The lounge sits six in comfort. There is a cosy open fireplace and a 43" Freely TV with WiFi throughout the cottage.
There is a good sized utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, twin Belfast sink, boot storage and coat hanging space, which is ideal for the Scottish Highlands. A small amount of washing powder and cleaning tabs are provided.
Guests have the sole use of the two small lawns to the front and rear of the cottage. We have outside table and chairs and an egg chair for our guests.
There are many walks to be had on the farm from almost sea level up to the top of Sguir Mor - the owner's Mount Everest! From here you will have spectacular views of Loch Creran, Mull and mountain views towards Ben Nevis.
The accommodation will be ready after 4pm on the day of arrival and must be departed by 10am on the day of departure.
