Visited for a family wedding and the house did not disappoint. Lovely mixture of modern amenities and a beautiful historic setting. Lots of room for everyone in the house was super cool for the summer heat. Would definitely stay again.
Super place to stay, clean, comfortable, well equipped, beautifully decorated to historic era charm, adequate parking. We had a wonderful stay! Convenient to everything, would love to return next year! Beautiful place!!
This is a wonderful home for a large family. We have 12- 6 adults & 6 kids. Lots of room to spread out and beautiful grounds for the kids to play. We have stayed here 2 years in a row, and will be booking our 3rd year soon.
This beautiful historic property had everything you could need: plenty of silverware, condiments, coffee, and all the comfort of home not to mention this place is beautiful. i’ve been with Vrbo for more than 15 years and this is by far the best place we’ve ever stayed. I would highly recommend it for families.
I could live here. Everything was top notch. We had a small 100th birthday celebration for my mother. Out of town relatives stayed in the house and we had the party here. We had everything we needed. And Wend was the best hostess/owner.
This was our second time here. Plenty of space for all age groups. We love the historic feel of this home. Within walking distance to several restaurants. We hope to return again!
We had friends come from Nashville, TN and this property blew them (and us) away! It was spacious, yet inviting. It had plenty of rooms for the us to spread out at night to sleep, but also had spaces for us to all gather and hang out through our time here. We loved hanging out in the kitchen, dining room, and living room! It was beautiful and relaxing!
We absolutely loved this house, everything was as stated and as expected. the view was fabulous. Everyone felt at home and comfortable. Would stay again and recommend to friends.
THIS HOUSE WAS A HOME! The monument you walk through the door you will feel right at home! It was so beautiful and clean, the rooms were so big and spacious and well decorated I REALLY LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS HOME. We can’t wait until our next visit.
Gorgeous historical home, super clean, and decorated for Halloween!!! We loved everything about! They had a complete coffee bar, and all the condiments and spices you could ask for. We will definitely be coming back.
It’s even better than the description! We hade two families in for a long weekend! The house (and surrounding area) were sooo nice. The house is so roomy. It was stocked better than almost any place I’ve ever rented. So much character!! Just lovely!!! We loved having meals in the beautiful/large dinning room. The place is so elegant! The rooms are huge!Parking was great! Basketball court in back. Beautiful yard! You are only a few blocks from the bath row area, with many good restaurants and shopping. Just a great place! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay. We will be back!Jon
This property was amazing. Wendy is the best host I have ever known. The house was fully stock with alll the nescessary items you need, all the paper products, plenty of towels, coffee, creamer and 2 coffee pots. The rooms are really spacious. The ice maker at the wet bar is amazing. The Sun room and the front porch was me and my husband's favorite. I would recommend this property to anyone. We will come again.
Gorgeous 120 year-old home! I had my 3 adult children and their spouses, one 12-year old and one 20 month old. Perfect and still more beds available! The house is so big with plenty of room and bathrooms, kitchen fully stocked, beds are very comfortable, beautiful yard with great location!! The 12 year old loved the basketball net! The host is so quick to respond and left us a very nice welcome basket of goodies. I don’t think we could have picked a better home for our family and the location was central to everything. If we ever return to Hot Springs, I would definitely rent this home again!!! HIGHLY recommend!!!
The house was amazing, makes you feel like you are at home. I had a birthday dinner for my husband with some of his friends and wives. They all loved the atmosphere of the house, they said it was so inviting. The only thing we did not like was that our time was short. Not a single one of us wanted to leave. One of the couples wanted me to contact the owner to see if they could purchase the couch, then said hell the house too. We really enjoyed this place. We will be going back soon.
We are a small friendship/prayer group that comes together every year for a 3-day retreat.
This was our 3rd year to stay at this property. It is absolutely perfect for us! There is room for all 8 of us. The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen has pretty much everything we need - and well organized. The décor is beautiful. Wendy, our host, is so, so easy to work with.
If there was anything not absolutely perfect, it would be that the wi-fi signal was weak. It was there, but would drop.
We can't wait to go back next year!
Our family loved staying at the historic Vaughn-Palmer house for our daughter's wedding. It was very clean and tidy and smelled nicely scented instead of musty. It worked great for adults downstairs and teens upstairs. The mattresses and pillows were really comfortable. There were enough chairs for a gathering of 20. The sunroom is a great early morning hide-out. The kitchen and laundry room were outfitted with everything we needed. The only thing lacking was that I was unable to correspond with the owner about what was available for use for the wedding such as pitchers, tablecloth, silverware, etc. I am not sure if that is a VRBO policy or an oversight that my question was not seen. Turns out they had everything, but I had packed up an entire SUV of serving things (and just needed 2 bowls). I also would have liked the dead bushes and trees trimmed, but I know the deep winter freeze has put all of us in the south a bit behind. We can just edit out the dead limbs from the photos. The lawn was freshly manicured and looked lovely for the photos. Overall, the venue was great, the owner was helpful upon check-in and with questions during the stay, and it was a nice location in downtown Hot Springs: easy to pick up breakfast food for the wedding party just minutes away. Many thanks to the owner Wendy and her housekeeper Rhonda.
The property is just as pictured on website. The rooms are huge, the house is huge and beautifully decorated. There were 5 adults, which included 1 couple. Everyone had his/her own space.
There are 4 areas I feel could be tweaked but did not affect the superior rating. 1. The incorrect network is listed to connect to WiFi. It wasn't until day 2 we figured it out. 2. There are 2 doors (bedrooms downstairs) that need repair. The knobs comes off when pulled. This was frightening when it happened as it made me feel I did something wrong. 3. The information sheet states to clean refrigerator out upon departure, but the doors are full of left over condiments/items from previous guests. 4.The 'master bath', there were leftover shampoo bottles and Dove shower soap left in the shower from a previous guest I assume. They were used bottles. As I stated these are minor things that should be addressed, but not show stoppers by any means. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Wendy the property owner is very quick to respond to messages which is very personable.
This house was wonderful. It accommodated our large group and was very well stocked from the kitchen to bathrooms. Check-in was a breeze and the location was close to everything on our agenda. The house was beautifully decorated and all the beds were comfortable.
