Your vacation awaits you with only steps to the private white sandy beach at Sand Pebbles Oceanfront complex! Located on "Pleasure Island" where the Chamber of Commerce offers FREE weekly activities from May to Sept. Weekly fireworks visible from our private beach, outdoor movies, and free concerts are within walking distance and provide an atmosphere of a warm, family friendly environment. Walking distance to everything. Sheets are provided with 6 bath and face towels! your morning coffee, breakfast, and lunch on the covered balcony. End your evening under the moonlit sky with the sounds of the soothing waves as you enjoy evening refreshments or a walk on the beach. The master suite accommodates a queen-sized bed with its own private bath and flat screen TV. The second bedroom has two single beds. A queen-size sofa sleeper is available in the living area for additional guests. There is a 40" flat screen TV in the living room and also a Bluetooth stereo to play your favorite jams. A full guest bathroom is available for everyone.Our condo is our personal condo. We have included extra amenities, including high speed internet wireless internet access, cable TV, beach chairs and washer/dryer. All furniture and appliances are well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare your favorite meals. Seating for four is served at the bar. There is also seating outside on the patio.

First time at a beach in NC

I believe the place could use a little paint , was told that it was ocean front or ocean view it may have been to some tenants but not ours. The people on the floor above us running all night long in their rooms I knocked on Ceiling several times but to no avail. All the way until 11 at night. Some days you had to fight for a parking spot.

Good Location-The Rest-Eh

We booked this location for a short stay at the beach with our grandkids (6 & 8). We ran into instant issues when we arrived, first was the internet/wifi did not work. VRBO was truly useless helping to solve this issue. After 6 1/2 hours, it finally solved. Apparently, the internet provider had changed out the equipment, and changed the login information. This was not communicated to us (the guest), or apparently VRBO. I also am not sure, but I believe the provider did not notify the owner, but regardless it should of been conveyed and verified by the property management company. The Property Management company was also totally useless and unreachable. There were some other issues like the dishwasher having rancid water and mold in the bottom of it. We did convey this to the owner, and we opted not to operate the dishwasher because we were not sure it was operational. One would expect the beds to be made upon arrival, however this was not case. There were clean linens but we were required to make the beds. There were cleanliness issues, and the bathtubs both had issues. I contacted VRBO, sent them 43 pictures and they gave me a case number. They opted to do nothing with the case stating "there is no visiable mold or any potential health hazards in the pictures". One would think the appearance of dried blood on one of the bed pads would of checked that box, along with the dishwasher. This definitely was a good VRBO experience. The property owner did apologize.

Property was not cleaned

The property had not been cleaned when we arrived. Martha, the host, was very responsive and had cleaners come and clean the property. We met the cleaners as they came into the property, and one of them mentioned that the owner (Martha) was "... freaking out because the home may have been broken into..." This certainly did not give us peace of mind. After this, we headed out to our pre-arranged dinner plans in our dirty travel clothes and without showering, making the first night here a bad experience. When we arrived back at the property that had just been recleaned, it was mostly clean, but not perfect. There was a used bar of soap clinging to the shower curtain, along with some sand in the shower. Given we were exhausted, had yet to unpack our vehicle, and were ready for bed, we did not report this to Martha. Later that evening, the internet gave out, and was not restored until the next day when Martha organized a group call with the internet provider. The final two days of our three night stay were a bit better, but there was a constant uneasiness about the safety of the property due to the comments from the cleaners. During the stay, Martha was very responsive. After the stay, Martha refused to return my phone calls or text, and simply gave us a $50 refund for the cleaning fiasco. IMO, the overall hassle of the uncleaned property was work much more than $50, but Martha refused to return my calls or texts.
