Peaceful historic dog friendly house that we enjoyed whilst in Normandy. The kitchen was spacious, allowing us to comfortably prepare and indulge in locally sourced food and wine. On rainy, lazy days we spent time in the lounge taking advantage of the numerous television channels. We enjoyed our stay and found Jennifer to be a lovely host.
So quiet and tucked out of the way. Lovely garden to explore. Character quirky home with especially lovely kitchen / dining room. 1 mile walk to bakery and short drive from everything else! Birdsong every day in the garden!
If you don’t mind driving it’s a great quiet place - we loved it! The quietness was exactly what we wanted!
My 3 person family enjoyed our week long stay at Jennifer’s beautiful millhouse at the end of March. The house had everything we needed or wanted during our stay. The kitchen is very well-equipped, the sitting room is very comfortable (especially with the wood stove) and we enjoyed great sleep in the very comfy beds. My daughter loved exploring the property and having her own bed/bath “wing” under the eaves of the house. Waking up to birdsong everyday was amazing, too! The location made a great base for exploring all the region has to offer. Highly recommend this property!
A great place to be - just on the outskirts of a classic French village with a supermarket nearby and an excellent boulangerie. Peaceful, warm, well kept and with an extremely well equipped kitchen.
In all, just a really nice place, easy to get into.
Would say the mattress in the main room could do with replacing - this one is just starting to sag in the middle, but otherwise, I have no negative comments at all.
A great welcome pack when we arrived, too, with a bottle of Pommeau and various other bits. A lot of attention to detail in the finishing of the building. Great.
The property contains everything you need for a holiday. The local supermarket and boulanger can provide all you are likely to need and the local cave has a superb calvados liqueur. It would suit walkers and cyclists with adjacent tracks otherwise a car is essential. The woodlands around the property contain many bird species but would benefit from much more of it to be made accessible. This is an old property so do not expect it to be spotlessly clean. It would benefit from a manual to some of the equipment.(We only found the washing machine in the cellar on our last day and the TV is temperamental) Overall we enjoyed our stay and it is close to the Spar town of Bagnoles with many good shops and restaurants.

Rustic Charm
We stayed with our labra doodle, Wilson at The Mill House over the New Year period, we were given a warm welcome by Jenny and her husband on arrival. Due to Storm Dylan and Eleanor, the weather was pretty appalling but fortunately the Mill House has two wood burners, one in the lounge and one in the kitchen, plus radiators in all the rooms, so we were as warm as toast. Again due to the weather, rain or wind is fine, but both together, horizontally, not conducive to being outside, even Wilson did not want to go out! We were not able to sight see as much as we had hoped, lots of reading and TV, catching up on Christmas/holiday films. There was a dog walk right beside the house, which was great, other than being quite a steep up hill drag initially, great on the way back though. This sadly very quickly got too wet for us to use, so we drove 7mins down the road to a lovely town called Bagnoles-de-I'Orne, which is a very pretty town that has a tarmac walk along the river, a god send. There are several good super markets close by to buy food. We really enjoyed our break, despite the howling gales, the house has all you want with plenty of cut wood for the burners. We found the bed a little hard for us and because we were pretty much house bound a bigger TV would have been nice but other than that it was great. We left Normandy mainly under water, it and the Mill House must be a lovely place in the sunshine.
Heerlijk!

Wij komen graag terug!
We were very impressed by this clever conversion of two quite plain houses into a well designed and characterful place. Everything worked, and everything looked good, if slightly quirky. We did wonder if the encouragement of wild life in the garden might have gone a little too far, as the bushes and trees had grown excessively in places.
The house was all I wanted it to be. Not too orderly not too square and modern. We both loved it. The location was superb, which is always a bonus. Lots of pleasant towns and a city or two. I didn’t want to use the car too much being on the road a lot for work so just to relax and enjoy the house was ideal and I’d think nothing of booking the property again.
Natuurlijke omgeving met veel wandelmogelijkheden. Met smaak ingericht historisch gebouw. Keuken is goed uitgerust. Voor beide houtvuren is hout beschikbaar.
We had a very enjoyable and memorable week at the mill. It has a huge space and lots of useful utensils. It feels like a small manor house and is delightfully quirky. The nearby Auberge de Corbonnieres is well worth a visit for excellent food and cider.
Prachtige woning in een prachtige streek. Goed uitgeruste keuken.
It was another amazing stay in this beautiful house (we stayed in 2019 as well). A wonderfully warm welcome was the start of a lovely few days. The house is romantic, quiet and well maintained. It is a great kitchen, with both woodfired oven and conventional oven. The woodfired stove in the sitting room is a delight too. The shutters are great - a quiet and dark nights sleep is ensured. We can't wait to return!
