A modern town house on a quiet street neighbouring Holyrood Park which provides glorious views of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags. Laid out over four floors (climbing stairs is essential) with a double bedroom (shower en-suite) on the ground floor, two double bedrooms (showers en-suite), single bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, sitting room, kitchen and dining room on the second floor and on the top floor a large gallery/sitting room with desk work space. A single garage, off-street parking and enclosed garden.

If we could give this property 10 stars we would. Communication with Mike from check-in to check-out was clear and timely. The home is very well appointed with a complete kitchen set up, comfortable beds and plenty of seating areas for relaxing after busy days exploring Edinburgh. The location is perfect for walking the Royal Mile and access to other sites in the city. The views across Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat are the icing on the cake. We highly recommend this property.

The home is beautiful, wonderful space for a family or several couples. Especially loved the location. An easy walk to High Street and having the park and Arthur's Seat right outside the home was a treat for sure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great location and flexible property

This is a great property - everywhere in Edinburgh is walkable. The layout is also really good - we were able to accommodate friends and family across the multiple floors. Really clean and with great views it was a perfect retreat after a busy day in the City. Thoroughly recommend it.

Came to Scotland for a wedding and the townhouse was awesome. Centrally located, super clean, well appointed and beautiful views! Mike and Cheryl were super detailed and responsive when I had a question. Can’t wait to come back!

This home is absolutely phenomenal! The location is perfect. We hiked Arthur’s Seat every day. The house is clean and the beds are so comfortable. We had groceries delivered easily and enjoyed sharing family time together. My 15 year old son can’t stop talking about it…Edinburgh has stolen his heart!

Excellent, spacious

We spent 5 days in this great house with 4 adults and 1 dog. Accept from a little problem at check in causes by the previous guests there is really nothing bad I can think of in this house. Also great location adjacent the large park. Our dog had the time of her live! I would definitely recommend this to friend and family! Best regards, Ed Petersen

Great location and views!

This was a great property in terms of location and views. We stayed for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The walk to Royal Mile is about 20 minutes and the house was comfortable. The views are amazing and the area is quiet. We had 7 people so the home was better for us versus a hotel. The homeowners were very accommodating and communication was quick. I will put it on my list so when we are back in Edinburgh, it will be a place we may stay again. Thanks Mike and Cheryl!

Five snorrers in paradise!

We were five snorrers and need for everybody a single sleepingroom. In ths house it was possible to have a comfortable stay. With a lot of bus connections you were in few minutes in the city or othe tourist spots. Also the path throu the park to the city was only 20 minutes. All was well discribed and the WiFi worked very well. The kitches is very good equiped. The whole house is very clean and comfortable. Like to stay again!

Superb house in stunning location

We stayed at this property for four nights and had a wonderful stay. The house was beautifully clean on our arrival and was perfect for our needs. We were a party of three and had lots of space to spread out. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed eating in on a couple nights. The lounge faces on to Holyrood Park with lovely views across to Salisbury Crags. The location of the house is very special being so close to Arthur's Seat and only a short walk from the centre of Edinburgh. We enjoyed walking up Arthur's Seat with its great panoramic views of Edinburgh, Leith, Portobello and out across the Firth of Forth. We would love to return to the house in the future. Thanks to Mike and Cheryl for helping us make the most of our stay; also to Angela who was there to welcome us on our arrival.

Beautiful property

We had a lovely weekend in this stunning property. Prior to our arrival the host enquired about our requirements particularly with reference to parking. He provided detailed and accurate instructions for our arrival and for gaining access which got our stay off to a great start. To have parking for 2 cars is a huge advantage. The property was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. We were particularly impressed with the high quality of all the furnishings, fixtures and fittings. It felt like everything had been thought of and catered for. It is a very comfortable property to occupy. It feels like being in a much loved family home rather than a sterile holiday let. This property enjoys an enviable location. To be so close to the city centre and all its attractions yet to have stunning countryside views from all it’s levels, we simply couldn’t believe our luck! To have access to a lovely garden was also a huge bonus. I found the host was easily contactable and dealt fully with any questions I had. We throughly enjoyed our time in this property and would not hesitate to highly recommend it. We would like to thank Mike and Cheryl for being the perfect hosts.

Fantastic vacation home

This property is an ideal location to stay in Edinburgh. The house is spacious and bright and is kept spotlessly clean. It is well equipped with everything from toys, games, books and everything you could possibly want or need in the kitchen. The dining room table is the perfect size for the whole family. Our recent visit included seven adults. We all had ample space in the house without feeling like we were on top of each other. Sainsbury's is an easy 10 minute walk for groceries and there is a wheeled basket provided in the house which makes grocery shopping very convenient. Waverley Train Station took us a little less than 1/2 hour to walk to. The terrace overlooking Holyrood Park is lovely. It was a pleasure to enjoy a cup of tea there each morning. We had excellent communication with the property owner Mike before, during and after our stay. We would certainly book this accommodation again when our travels bring us back to Edinburgh. Modern and spacious, with views!

Our family of 7 enjoyed our stay. We had plenty of room to spread out and have privacy. The kitchen was wet outfitted and we used it quite a lot. We used the attic family room as a 5th bedroom for our 12 year old and that worked well. All the bathroom amenities were modern and functional. The wifi worked consistently and was fast! The views over Holyrood Park were fabulous and also made it convenient for quiet morning walks in the park. The walk into town for restaurants was about 20 minutes walking, or about 10 minutes walk to the nearest major bus stop and supermarket. Be aware the house includes 3 sets of stairs, which was fine for us. There is a bed/bath on the first floor for those who want to avoid stairs, but the living areas are 2 sets of stairs up from there. There is space for parking 1 vehicle in front of the garage (only the smallest of cars could fit inside the garage). We had two vehicles and had a terrible time finding street parking. It's free, but just not available at certain times of day. Overall an excellent stay and we would be happy to visit again should be lucky enough to find ourselves in Edinburgh.

Every person enjoys their own bedroom/bathroom. Nice sitting area with a functional kitchen. Owner provided many adapters for those who forgot. Easy walking to the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle. Pretty quiet street - didn’t bother the persons in the front bedrooms.

We are Mike and Cheryl Cran who own the house. We lived in Edinburgh when we were first married but left over 20 years ago because of our jobs. We love Edinburgh and fell in love with this house as soon as we saw the stunning views. We use it whenever we can between short term lets and trust you will enjoy its beautiful location in the heart of the city and all that Edinburgh has to offer as much as we do every time we visit. Our profile photo was taken in July 2015, just after we bought the house and staying in Edinburgh while supporting our daughter playing Lacrosse for Scotland in the Under 19s Lacrosse World Championships.

Why they chose this property

The views from a townhouse set in the city are stunning - virtually rural - and yet you are only 6-7 bus stops or a 15 minute walk from the city centre and all that Edinburgh has to offer as a capital city.

What makes this property unique

A small south facing garden with Holyrood Park over the garden wall provides stunning views, an excellent walking / exercise area and without the normal city noise. The efficiency of a modern house providing warmth and efficient showers with copious hot water. A garage and second parking space are invaluable in a capital city centre property. All that a capital city centre offers close at hand but with the benefit of a "near rural" setting.
