The Ranch is a quiet and relaxing Vacation Rental with up to date amenities. Your home away where you can enjoy the game room with pool table and foosball or the back yard hot tub.

We have kayaks available for rent.

2 miles away we have space for you to park a trailer and pasture for horses.

2 blocks from the City Park with kids play areas, pavilions, ball fields, walking path and a fishing pond also has a aquatic & activities center with a indoor swimming pool, weight room and basket ball courts inside.

Our Guest who has stayed here has said that they have felt right at home while they enjoyed how peaceful it is. With the full kitchen with plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, toaster, can opener, microwave, mixing bowls, aluminum foil, trash bags, zip locks, paper towels, coffee maker, coffee, multiple creamers & sweeteners. The sleeping areas come complete with sheets, blankets, pillows. The bathrooms have toiletries, towels and hair dryer.

There is a large screened in back porch furnished with outdoor furniture for you to enjoy your coffee in the morning or just having some R&R with that special person. No matter the occasion you will enjoy the spacious screened in back porch.

The back yard is nicely shaded so you can enjoy a picnic or just an evening of relaxation. Just bring yourself & your clothes and any foods you want and enjoy!

For all you outdoors enthusiast we are in the center of Southern Illinois and just 16 miles from Lake of Egypt, Rend Lake and Crab Orchard Lake. Here in our own little piece of heaven where you can enjoy Biking, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Spelunking, Sky Diving, Scuba Diving, Fishing, Hunting, Golfing, Horseback Riding, Lakes for Boating/Canoeing /Kayaking, Rivers for fishing, floating, camping.

A beautiful home!

This home has a gorgeous backyard with a hot tub and fire pit that is great for friends. A quiet neighborhood, with beautiful scenery. Would recommend this to anyone.

The property owner Kevin was lovely and accommodated my numerous questions with answers and insights. The house was fantastic, 3 great bedrooms , kitchen was stocked with pots, pans etc...The absolute best hot tub that was very clean....It was a top notch experience and I recommend it with 5 stars.

The property manager was awesome

The property Manager was wonderful! He was able to answer everything in a timely manner. The neighborhood was not in the best of places. The house was really dated and somethings weren’t to par. The cleaning company was at fault on a few things because some things were not clean. Snacks on the table were all expired. But the amenities were nice. The pool table and the jacuzzi were great. It would have been nice for the jacuzzi to be inside or to have privacy but with neighbors close enough to touch it was hard. We won’t be back to this VRBO which is sad because the property manager was great

Uninformed Extra daily charges

Regardless of rebuttal from host- my 6 yr old and 8 yr old grandkids visited me and spent various nights. I was initially charged an ADDITIONAL $350.00 on my second day of week long visit. Even at this ridiculous overcharge they were not there every night. I was not told verbally or in writing host expectation was $25 per night per child. If that specification was in writing, there would have been NO booking. I had to contact VRBO to intervene. Dogs barking and raging neighbors cursing at one another. Additionally, the ad does in fact state here is camera surveillance. And there most certainly is. Its Totally uncomfortable.

I understand that you felt the need to vent, but it seems that some of the things you said are not entirely accurate. If you had read the house rules or been honest about the number of guests that would be staying, you would have known what to expect. Unfortunately, I have no control over the neighbors' arguments. On the positive side, I appreciate that you left our place in good condition even when you were upset. It speaks volumes about your character and shows that you are a good person at heart. This home is advertised on Rend Lake and is no where near there. States it on a lake and has kayaks. Non of this is true. I also never received my check in info. I had to call at 8p just to get into the home. For the amount of money paid for this very shoddy property it should at least be where they say it is. The neighbor is a run down trailer with trash piled up right next to the hot tub. Unless a refund is issued I will no longer use vrbo.

Sorry you feel that way. But I did respond and told you to engage the refund policy with Vrbo. As for my not responding all the many other text we was dealing with something ourselves and was out of pocket till the following Monday. But you shouldn’t miss lead by posting you had an emergency because as you stated yourself you had changed your mind and that was sometime later that afternoon after check in time that you sent your first text and at that time you stated that you was still a couple hours away and had decided not to come. I could post the texts you sent saying so. But you are the one who has tried to usurp the cancellation policies and cancel after the fact, and so you understand my position I had turned two groups away earlier that day for the time you had booked. I am truly sorry that you didn’t take the time to come and stay we believe you would have truly enjoyed your stay.

Most of the summer

My daughter had an internship and so we ended up staying for eight weeks at this property. It was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It also has a pretty backyard and the owners were wonderful to work with. They even put in a pool table while we were there! It made our extended stay so much more enjoyable than a hotel! Thanks for everything!

Life at the Ranch

The house is very cute. You can tell they put thought into the decorations. They were lots of linens and supplies. The beds are comfortable. There are plenty of pillows. The owners are very nice people who are very responsive to anything you need.
