We had a nice stay at Gary's place. The weather wasn't warm the weekend we were there (mid 60s), but that didn't stop us from spending an afternoon swimming. The water was wonderful!
The photos in the listing are exactly what you get. It's a nice, big space; very clean and comfortable. The views are spectacular! All the basics are provided. Gary was nice and greeted us upon our arrival, and after that left us to ourselves.
Some things that were not mentioned in the listing that you may care to know about:
- This is Gary's basement, which was a big surprise. And Gary was home. I found it inhibiting at first, but got used to it by the second day.
- If you have mobility issues, this may not be the right place for you. You must navigate stairs (half flight) to get in.
- The dock is *below* the house, accessed by a trail that is maintained, but uneven with roots and it's quite steep. I was only able to get there the day we arrived and then once again the afternoon we went swimming. I used my hiking poles the second time, which made it easier, but I almost didn't back down because of my mobility issues. My husband had no trouble with it, though.
- Gary has a small dog (poodle mix?) that barked at us and did not let us near, but it mostly stayed upstairs with Gary.
The reason we chose this listing was the water, which was lovely and totally worth the effort. It's a nice dock with loungers, table and chairs, etc. It's quiet and pretty, and we had a glorious time in the water.
