About the host

I moved to this area several decades ago. I live in Buena Vista, CO, a popular and small mountain town, nestled next to the Continental Divide, at 8000 ft. I rent out my 15-acre ranch, Cottonwood Spirit Ranch, through this site. We have multiple creeks & ponds & lots of wildlife.

I also own Goddard Ranch, which sits on over 100 acres. (This is also rented out through this site.) It's surrounded by 1.2 million acres of public land and many miles of trails for Jeeps, hiking, or horseback riding. This ranch is surrounded by mountains. Our county is comprised of about 85% public land. We enjoy the breathtaking views, elk, deer, moose, and, of course, vast areas of unspoiled terrain.

For fun, I love to enjoy hiking, biking & camping. I also love to ride ATVs, motorcycles, or Jeeps. This works out great for me to rent my properties while I am out doing other things.

Why they chose this property

This amazing 2 story home is set in a beautiful valley, east of Buena Vista. Enjoy the majestic Collegiate Peaks from every balcony. You'll see spectacular stars, sunsets & sunrises, & possibly some amazing wildlife. We have just about any Rocky Mountain animal you could imagine, including elk & moose. The main home is solar-powered. We offer 50" TV (with cable), Refrigerator, Internet, Instapot, electric tea kettle & more. The outdoor cooking area, with grill, Coleman stove & prep table, is protected from the elements. We have sinks, plenty of solar power for lights, cell phone chargers, Bluetooth speakers & more. There's ample hot water, 2 toilets, 2 showers, 3 extra-large sinks & changing areas. The shower room can be used as a sauna. If there's anything else you need, we'll help you out. Your job is to have as much fun as possible.

What makes this property unique

This ranch is near Davis Meadows, a popular hiking trail, The Arch, Salt Creek Trail, Chubb Park, Fourmile Recreation area. Arkansas River Recreation Area, San Isabel National Forest, Buffalo Peaks Wilderness, Brown's Canyon National Monument, lots of BLM areas, award-winning fishing spots, numerous Fourteeners to climb & whitewater rafting down the Arkansas River. Hunters, this is GMU #49. Plan ahead on this one; lots of elk.
