great vacation

It's a beautiful property in a great location well equipped and with homey touches like games and puzzles. The concierge service was excellent and made our vacation smoother than we could have hoped.

Great location

Perfect spot for our visit to the area for our daughter wedding. Renting both sides for family worked so well.

Family vacation

The Villas were perfect for such a large family vacation. With 17 of us there was lots of room and plenty of space to sit and have a quiet minute! The whole family enjoyed the pools, beach in the morning and pool in the afternoon! Aly, our concierge, was awesome at helping us plan tours and rent golf carts for getting around!

We really enjoyed our stay in Playa Langosta. The house had plenty of space for 13 of us, however some of the rooms have direct access to the outside which wasnt a good fit for kids or even teens. Aly was super helpful! She reccomended that we rent a golf

Perfect location for beach & activities

My group rented the entire Villa, and had ample space for our group of 15. Additionally, Aly was especially helpful in coordinating fishing, a catamaran trip, and the adventure day, all of which my group thoroughly enjoyed. She also set up a dinner to cook up the fish which was fantastic. Mikel was very responsive throughout the trip and helped replace an AC unit that wasn’t working within the day. Overall, would highly recommend this property

Steven, thank you for staying with us! Aly and Mikel are great. That fishing trip, followed by a private chef to cook up the catch sounds like a great time! And we're glad we were able to replace that A/C unit on the same day -- 3 of the 12 units were older, and we actually managed to replace all three that day, so they're all brand new for guests to cool off after a hot day outside. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and welcome you back anytime! Brian and Nikki

Group travel

The house was very clean but had a lot of issues. Needs to update cookware and silverware and towels. There's links in the ceiling in both Villa. There was no AC in the master room the first night.

Family Christmas trip

We had a great time. The concierge was amazing at getting us all set up with a private chef and bartender, surfing, Academy, and Trippe. The only problem was we could not get in, but that was partly our fault for not showing up when we were supposed to do to traffic, etc. We only had to wait about 20 minutes. The property was a little hard To find but very spacious and we had both units. The best part about it was waking up to a family of nine monkeys, including two babies in the tree right outside the master bedroom on the third floor. We’ve gone to Costa Rica for 31 years and this is the closest we’ve ever been to Haller monkeys. I will recommend, this for people and A, especially larger groups.

Great location

We rented both villas for a family vacation and had an amazing trip. The villas are in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to Tamarindo without having to deal with all the crowds. There were 13 of us and there was ample room for everyone (we could had a few more people and still not felt crowded). The concierge was really helpful - we used Aly to book airport transfers and tours as well a cook for 2 dinners. I definitely would recommend the cook, the airport transfers and the catamaran trip. The two other tours we booked were 2.5 hours away (coffee and waterfall tours) as they take place in the rainforest - not near the coast. We liked the tours, but we hit outrageous traffic on the way home once and it took almost 5 hours to get back to the villas.Everyone in our group raved about the how comfortable the beds are in both villas! There is a small market and a sports bar that are easy walking distance as well as the beach which is much quieter than Tamarindo and has amazing sunsets! Can't wait to go back!

Amazing villas

We were a party of 13 and needed to book a villa to stay at since our wedding was happening nearby. The two villas were amazing, not only based on their price but with the space and amenities. Aly was great in helping us book excursions, massages, rental cars etc. The pools are a dream on their own, the rooms were large and the bathrooms were even larger! It was also nice to be able to use the garage to park our golf cart, but I would recommend to use Uber, as it is cheaper than renting a golf cart. Having two kitchens was great for such a large party, and being able to move between the villas through the door in between the two pools was very convenient. This was a calming stay, away from the busy town center (that was still very close, about 5 min by golf cart), and we saw many monkeys in the trees, particularly in villa 2. Highly recommend walking to the nearest beach which is a 5 min walk and watching the sunsets there.

A Perfect Stay

We booked both villas and can honestly say that this is the perfect property for extended families or small groups looking for comfort, privacy, and all the amenities. The villas are well appointed and each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom. There are two garden areas, and the lush pool yard has a BBQ and plenty of room for lounging and dining. Located in Playa Langosta, it’s just three minutes by golf cart to the heart of Tamarindo. The house manager, Mikel, was helpful and responsive, and his cleaning team was thorough, polite, and Covid safe. Concierge Alyssa was knowledgeable and friendly, arranging for our golf cart rental, delivery and pickup. She also booked a full day “Adventure” tour for our party of seven. What fun! We highly recommend her services and this tour. Owners Nikki and Brian are easy to work with and understandably proud of Casa Puesta Del Sol. We enjoyed our stay and know you will, too.

Mary, thank you for staying with us! We love hosting larger / multi families, and we agree that Aly, Mikel, and our cleaning crew are great. A full day of "adventure" is what CR is all about --- but so is doing nothing and enjoying a refreshing drink by the pool. Pura Vida! We would welcome you back to visit anytime. Best, Brian and Nikki

The rental is two homes side by side, was in a prime location, but it needs some fixing up. Changes are needed to reflect the current advertised description and the current pictures of the listing. The real estate agent, who showed up unexpectedly, described it to potential buyers as “needing some TLC.”When we asked for help, the owners’ reaction left us bewildered, especially with the pots and nonstick pans being so badly scratched. We waited for a new coffeemaker to be replaced to accommodate twenty people. Since both dishwashers weren’t functioning, we opted to eat out rather than use the toxic cookware. The linens were over-worn and stained, plus limited used towels. Torn and stained upholstery is prevalent, and the outdoor patio is missing cushions or has broken chairs. Despite the host’s delayed replies and apparent unwillingness to acknowledge the problems, their responses became increasingly accusatory. All video and photo documentation was collected to facilitate the response. To match the existing listing’s description, these improvements are essential.

Providing our guests with a great experience is very important to us. While issues can occasionally arise in any home—especially in the tropics—we make every effort to address them quickly and make things right. That said, we need to address several inaccuracies in this review: • Cookware & appliances: The cookware was functional and safe, but we replaced it to be accommodating. Both dishwashers were operational and in fact one was just replaced just under a year ago. • Linens & towels: Linens showed normal wear from use, not cleanliness issues, and were replaced during the stay. • Furniture: Outdoor furniture was functional during the stay and was scheduled for replacement, which occurred immediately after this guest's checkout on 2/5/26. Indoor furniture is well maintained and does not have torn or unsafe fabric. • Responsiveness: When concerns were raised, we responded promptly and courteously. Within the first day, we replaced the coffee maker, cookware, and linens, and sent a handyman the same day to address any issues the guest identified. • Property showing: Permission was requested in advance and approved by the guest. The walkthrough was brief and conducted professionally. We stand behind our home, our responsiveness, and the many wonderful reviews we’ve received. We take feedback seriously, strive to provide an excellent guest experience, and continue to invest in property improvements. At the same time, we recognize that sometimes a home and its guests are simply not the right fit

Gorgeous Property!

Our expectations were exceeded! This is a massive, luxurious home in a quiet area of Tamarindo referred to as Playa Langosta. We rented both villas and we had more space than we knew what to do with. There are multiple master suites with views of the ocean. The beach is a 5 minute walk and it is an easy 15 minute walk, or a few minute drive to get into town. Aly, the concierge provided by the owners, made it easy to book rental cars, excursions, a private chef, and more. She also recommended we try the restaurant Bistro Langosta, which was hands down our favorite meal of the trip. Get there before 6 to take advantage of the great happy hour specials and plan to stay a few hours to try the amazing food and cocktail list. We did encounter a couple issues with the house during our stay, the largest was an A/C unit that wasn't working. The owners have a local care taker that responds instantly to texts and had the A/C unit replaced with a new one within a couple hours of me notifying him. We strongly recommend choosing this home for your Costa Rican beach vacation.

January 21st to January 27th

I had an Amazing stay at the Villas, any issues that i had which were minor the Leonards were very punctual with a response. It was a memorable moment for my birthday. Nothing but Great things. The only complaint that I have is concerning the Concierge (Aly)Alyssa Nitsche. Every year when I travel for my birthday someone bring in another friend to the group, unknown to the others. Well, when 3 women backed out of the Adventure Day because 1 was in a car wreck a few prior to the trip. When i told Aly she spoke to me as if I was a child, very condescending. Also threatened to take any extra monies off my card if the people don't do anything i requested prior to. So i called to have my card blocked from any further charges. I refused to argue with her because i had 4 more days of vacation and didn't want for her to make things worse for me. I had a cook a few days, everything was delicious. The pool guy was courteous and nice.

Bonne continuation.

More amazing than expected

This property was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our group of 11 adults. The rooms were all very nice and the beds were soooo comfortable. The villas were very close to every thing. We were able to get everywhere by golfcart within minutes. The communication with everyone was very great. The best part of this entire experience was the concierge Aly. I has worked with her months before our arrival and she was always so helpful and patient. She helped book fabulous excursions, spa day, dinners, salsa lessons, golf carts and transportation. She went above and beyond to make this vacation phenomenal. I told her before we met that she was my friend in my head lol. She even stopped by one day and assisted with the washing machine. The only downside would be now that every place I go I will be expecting the same quality experience because every place needs an Aly. Overall this was a fabulous trip and when coming back we will for sure be staying here again.

FYI, the A/C issue is fixed and working fine (a drain was mistakenly blocked when we had work done in the front patio). We welcome you back to CPDS anytime to stay with us again. Pura Vida!
