My family and I had a very comfortable stay. The house, the view, the property, it was all amazing. I would never have thought that we would ever get to experience a full tropical island experience like this.

Great property in an amazing location - off the beaten track on the windward coast, sunrise views over dramatic lava-rock shore. Very comfortable house and room to spread out and relax, including a big lawn and pool. Easy to get to Volcano National Park, up to Hilo and down the coast from here.

We had a wonderful stay! The oceanfront views were absolutely breathtaking and the highlight of the property. The home has a charming, rustic feel with beautiful woodwork and so much character. The location was perfect for exploring the east side of the island, including Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach, while still being a peaceful place to come back and relax. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting the Big Island.

If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful estate, with a private pool, this is it! The property is about an hour away from the Kilauea Vocano, and, on the rain-forest side of the island. The kitchen is well-equipped, plus there is a BBQ, and a fireplace too for roasting marshmallows. The main bedroom is on the first floor, and the other sleeping areas on the lower floor. We highly recommend this home for those who want to get away from all the tourists in Lona-Kailua!

We had a great time staying here! The views are breathtaking, and the house and grounds are beautiful, very well kept, and thoughtfully maintained. There are plenty of sights to see and activities to enjoy in the surrounding area, which made the stay even more enjoyable.Jim and Meagan are excellent hosts who truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable and stress-free. This beautiful home is for the visitor that wants to experience the iconic Hawaiian vacation. Just the short drive from the gate to the house was jaw dropping as we meandered through a jungle. The home is beautifully appointed and the view is stunning. The sound of the ocean crashing against the lava rock shoreline was mesmerizing and very relaxing. (There is no beach) Pool area was nice and the landscaping was stunning around the house. The house is spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything except condiments and spices. Bring your own if you want to cook. Overall, we had wonderful time spent at the house and, being from Texas, the beautiful drives to Hilo and Kona didn't bother us. Be prepared for rain and noisy frogs at night, but both were much appreciated. We plan to return to this beautiful home in an iconic Hawaiian setting. The Ivey family from Terlingua.

This is a truly stunning property with an incredible ocean view. The home and grounds are very beautiful and feel secluded although the house is in an easily accessible neighborhood and close to amenties. There was plenty of space for our whole family and we enjoyed making meals in the large kitchen and then enjoying them on the massive lanai. It was also a good home base for visting Volcanoes National Park and for day trips to Hilo.We loved our time here and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful grounds and home. We stayed here for a few nights to wind down at the end of an extended family trip. It was a great retreat and we enjoyed cooking a few meals in the kitchen. The living room could get a little warm during the day, but the bedroom AC was plenty comfortable.

The house was beautiful and the setting was gorgeous. We were very comfortable there. We had a couple of people who had to work during part of the stay, and the internet worked great. Also, it was nice that there were several desks for the working people. Some of us enjoyed running on the Government Beach Road - just gorgeous! We also really enjoyed breakfast at Pele's Kitchen in Pahoa.

This was an exceptional home for our family to spend the holiday together. Great comfortable location. Very private.Well equipped kitchen, great looking interior but countertop maintenence a bit fussy. One downstairs bedroom had dampness issue after rain which was quickly taken care of by the friendly, and efficient Colin! It was an excellent location to the Kilauea volcano. We were able to get there before the mass of others and traffic arrived. It was a simple drive to Hilo and longer to Kona coast. So worth the privacy and to be away from the tourist scene. Thank you for sharing your home!
