Our Brown County Shack offers a rare level of space, privacy, and immersion in nature. Perched on a hilltop with no neighboring homes in sight and built in 2020, this custom-built log cabin delivers the kind of seclusion travelers search for but rarely find. The newly built cabin showcases exceptional craftsmanship throughout, with thoughtful design across multiple levels. The lower level features a comfortable den with satellite TV, DVD player, mini fridge, and microwave, along with a king bedroom and private full bathroom. The main level offers a spacious living area with a wall of windows overlooking wildlife and water, a fully equipped kitchen for family meals, and three additional bedrooms—one king and two queens—each paired with oversized showers and convenient bathroom access. Smart TVs and satellite service ensure modern comfort in a peaceful, off-the-grid setting.
Outdoor living defines the experience at Our Brown County Shack. Massive covered porches, and a fire pit area provide endless places to relax, gather, or simply take in the quiet. Guests can hike private trails, explore the creek, watch wildlife, or enjoy stargazing far from city lights. Dog-friendly for well-behaved small dogs and located near Brown County’s hiking, biking, fishing, zip-lining, and arts scene, this private Brown County cabin on acreage is ideal for guests who want room to roam, space to breathe, and a setting that feels truly their own.

The property was spacious and well designed. It would be great for families with children because of the two family areas. Beds were comfortable. Communications were prompt and clear. Very friendly.

We are so glad you had such a great time at "the shack" and thank you for staying there. We look forward to your booking with us for your next visit.
Great house in the woods secluded with tons of hiking trails and a fishing pond. The house is appointed and has the minimum of what you need to stay. There are a lot of items they do not provide in the house so be prepared to bring a lot of necessities. Other than that it’s an amazing place to stay to get a break

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at OUR BROWB COUNTY SHACK. That owner loves looking after that property and wants the guests to have a goog time while there. We do try to make sure you are aware of what to bring and what is provided, which is why we provide that list for your in the check in information link we sent to you in several emails. With over 109 cabins in this area that we manage, and have done so for over 25 years, we have found this to be the best system. We do hope you will come back and hopefully book with us and save the extra expenses.
We had a great time. Beautiful home with hiking trails on the property. Then came the tornado on Friday evening. Unfortunately, loads of trees came down blocking the entrance to the home as well as covering 2 of our cars. Also, the power was out. The owner came the next morning with chain saws and an excavator to clear the downed trees and uncover our cars. We cut our trip short due to the lack of power. I can't say enough about how safe we were in a really well-built house! Look forward to returning.

We are so glad you felt safe in this wonderful cabin and that owner took such great care of you. We look forward to you booking with us for your next visit, and no storms then for your next stay!
Five ladies who have all been friends for decades (some for 6 decades)and our 2 doggies enjoyed a great time at "Our Brown County Shack". It was very clean, had everything you'd need to cook all of your meals which we did every day. The beds were very comfortable and having 2 covered decks was awesome since it stormed a few times and we could sit outside and watch/listen to the rain. The only drawback and it was a minor one was there are not a lot places to walk your dog unless you go down a steep gravel driveway to a grassy pasture. There are hiking trails you could use, but we were a bit concerned about ticks. All and all, the dogs adapted and everything worked out fine. And, we did get our workout everyday with the steps! Added bonus, the ladies at Hills O'Brown County Rentals were great to deal with when checking in and out. Great place!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to you all getting to come back again soon. That owner does try to keep the trails sprayed for the ticks, but we certainly undterstand your concern.
Hopefully you can come back in the fall sometime and avoid the issue!
Thoroughly enjoyed our Brown County Shack experience. With no wifi and limited cell service, it's the perfect, peaceful location to unwind and unplug. We enjoyed the trails, exploring the property and sitting on the deck. Tons of room and space for our family (5 adults). The location is about 10 minutes from Story and 10-15 minutes from Nashville. We'll
definitely stay here again.
