Welcome to this distinctive vacation property managed locally by Island Time Hilton Head.

Exciting updates have just been completed at this property! A brand-new 5th bedroom is now finished and fully furnished with a full-size bed and an ensuite jack-and-jill style bathroom. Updated photos have been completed as of January 2026.

Elegance is understated in this Lowcountry home, truly one of a kind. The setting could not get more perfect. This fabulous home offers 5 bedrooms, and boasts multiple living areas on the inside, a gourmet kitchen, and a massive backyard that includes a private pool, covered outdoor living room, fire pit area, and a basketball court!

As you enter this quintessential Lowcountry estate, you are greeted with a wonderful living and dining area with a beautiful tabby shell fireplace. Just outside this space is a wonderful arbor lanai that is another outdoor living space that overlooks the pool and lagoon. The gourmet kitchen offers high-end appliances and is outfitted for all your cooking needs during your stay. The dining area just off the kitchen boasts a beautiful fireplace and wood paneling on the walls. There is an enclosed patio with seating areas to enjoy a cup of coffee or watch the kids in the pool. You can kick back and relax in the sunken living room just off the dining area, which has a sleeper sofa, a half bathroom, access to the covered grill, and out to the pool.

With this large property, there is one master suite on the first floor with a king-size bed. It overlooks the paver basketball court and beautiful landscaping. Bedroom 2, the primary suite, features a king bed overlooking the pool and lagoon, a beautiful fireplace, and a spacious spa-style bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate soaking tub. Bedroom 3 includes a king bed and shares a Jack-and-Jill full bathroom with Bedroom 4. Bedroom 4 is brand new and offers a full bed and access to the shared Jack-and-Jill bath. Bedroom 5 serves as a guest suite with two queen beds and a private attached full bathroom. A large laundry room is also located on this level for added convenience.

The true masterpiece of this home is the backyard. On a cul-de-sac private lot that backs up to the 11-mile lagoon system in Palmetto Dune, this property has an extremely large backyard. The pool offers ample size for swimming and has multiple seating areas around it for lounging, sunbathing, and even dining. There is a basketball court that allows for hours of outdoor entertainment for your guests. As you walk down to the lagoon, you will see the fire pit. You can enjoy conversations around the fire with your entire group. There is a dock at the lagoon for access to the waterway. You can rent kayaks or paddle boards and explore the 11-mile lagoon system. One of the best parts is the gorgeous sunsets you will be able to see throughout the year!

Wonderful week away

We were looking for a nice place, with room and a pool, for us to have a change of scenery during covid. We found just what we needed! A wonderful yard with enough space for two tween boys to tire themselves out. A short walk to the beach in the evenings (when the crowds went home) was all we needed, in addition to the pool. The owners were attentive and responsive and everything went smoothly. Would stay here again!

Perfect house and location for our post-college-graduation family vacation. Oldest graduated from SCAD on Friday and we traveled to 51 Haul Away to celebrate with a week-long family vacation on Hilton Head for our large family of 6. We wanted a place big enough to accommodate our graduate's friends who came out throughout the week to spend some time with us as well. We fished the lagoon, swam a ton in the pool, easy bike rides or walks to the beautiful beaches of Palmetto Dunes, biking and running on the beach was awesome, golf at the Fazio course, evenings sitting around the fire pit ... just perfect. Loved it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the house was great. The inside of the house itself was clean and was perfect for our 14 people. However, outside has issues:-The pool was obviously not cleaned & even had had algae growing up side. Called Island Time 4 times about it and they refused to come out.-Dock not accessible/old/falling apart-Trash along edges of property-Basketball Hoop Broken-outside grounds needs cleaned up.

Rent this house…you won’t be disappointed!

Home is a very well kept older home that’s been updated and maintained. Master suite is very nice with a large bathroom/closet space. Nice layout to the house. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped. No “leftovers” such as spices, sugar, etc from prior guests. No large pots for big pot dinners like spaghetti. Neither of these an issue just a fyi. The outside of this home is absolutely spectacular! From the pool to the firepit area and Adirondack seating, it was just perfect. We used every single area and enjoyed each at different times of the day. Garage is full of beach chairs, umbrellas and beach chairs. No keys to worry about. Access home with coded doors. Outside is well lit for nighttime. Beach access nearby. We rented bikes which was perfect (a bit of a longer walk to the beach…very easy with bikes). Landscaping at home is beautiful for pictures. Neighbors joined us while playing guitars at the firepit one evening. All in all, probably one of our best beach houses we’ve rented. No complaints and tons of fun for all! Island Time was extremely easy to work with too!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property had wonderful amenities. The house offered a lot of activities to do and there was plenty of space. The drawbacks are, the bugs were bad in the second floor bedrooms. The cleaning crew didn’t do a very good job. There was urine stains on some of the toilet seats and there was dirt in a lot of corners. All the outside furniture was very dirty from the winter. The pool was very dirty when we arrived and I had to call to get it cleaned. They didn’t come out until the next day. I would also recommend putting a garbage can out in the backyard and laundry room. There was also an awful sulfur smell that came out of every faucet that made the entire house smell terrible. I had to call the rental company and whatever they did, it resolved the problem. We came early in the season and the property didn’t seem ready for guests.

Idyllic Vacation

Beautifully designed and maintained. Thoughtful attention to details like plentiful chargers and kitchen utensils. House and property clean and inviting. So quiet and peaceful. Very nice neighbors. Comfortable furniture inside and out.We loved every day and want to come back next Spring. Thank you!!! Only question is why there are no changes of sheets available ?? And quality of toilet paper and lotions not up to the quality of the house. TV's very complicated and some did not work at all.

Beautiful property

Beautiful home and property. Good location. Short walk to the beach. The home was clean with plenty of space for our family. We had a very pleasant vacation. My only complaint was with our arrival. The property manager was not very good with communication on needing more than 1 parking pass. Then the location they sent me in an email to pick up parking passes was wrong after we just drove 14 hours to get there. It was an hour just to cross into island. Then to show up to the address we were given. We had to call the manager to get right location which they were rude and put out a bit since it was closing time. After that, the follow-up and conversations were polite and had good customer service. It just felt like they made it seem like we should have been able to read their mind upon arrival on where to go and communicated as if we had been there many times and this was our first time ever in Hilton Head and were not familiar with area at all.

51 Haul Away - a resort to ourselves

With so much space and amenities, it seemed like we had an entire resort to ourselves. Basketball court, pool, fire pit, dock for cayaks, and ping pong were among the amenities provided. Quiet and secluded in a cul-de-sac with an easy bike ride to tennis or the general store. Premium vacation experience.
