House is a Charleston single and was originally built in 1853. It still contains original hardwood floors, interior doors, and windows. Each bedroom, boasts great natural light, eloquent rustic furnishings and premium bedding. Open & adjoining kitchen and living spaces are great for group entertainment. Both living rooms offer leather furnishings, Flat screen TVs with Hulu access (no cable), and dining/work space table. Kitchens are fully equipped with ceramic dinnerware, Keurig coffeemaker, stemless wine glasses & more. Backyard garden is characterized by historic elements including a cistern and the foundation of the house`s original kitchen.
Our historic Charleston single located in Charleston`s vibrant and hip Elliotborough neighborhood. Locals favorites just steps away and two short walking blocks to Upper King Street Shopping & Dining district. The Charleston City Market is a 1.4 mile walk or short 5 minute drive. Broad St and the heart of the historic district is 1.7 miles and a straight shot down our street..
Upon arrival guests have two off-street driveway parking spaces at their disposal in our tandem driveway. Furnished rooftop deck great for enjoying a nice evening. Private backyard garden furnished with string lights, a picnic table and Adirondack chairs is also available for enjoying.

King Street: Two short blocks walking distance to Upper King Street shopping & dining. Locals` favorites are just a few steps out of the front door.
Charleston City Market & Historic District: The Market & Historic District are a short 3-5 minute drive away. Most of the downtown peninsula is reachable via bike, uber, or walking.
Restaurants: Neighborhood favorites (D`alesandros Pizza, Chubby Fish, Trattoria Lucca, Barsa, Elliotborough Minibar, Warehouse & many more) all within three blocks!
Beaches: Sullivan`s Island, Isle of Palms, and Folly beaches all within ~20 minute drive. Airport is a short 20-30 minute drive away.
Upper King Street is 2 blocks away.
Most of the downtown area can be reached within a 20-30 minute walk with many options walkable in less than a 10-15 minutes.
Visitor center is a 12 minute walk where there is a stop for Charleston`s affordable city buses.
If walking is not an option, pedicabs, ubers/lyfts, and taxis are all available within 5-10 minutes. Bike rentals a 5 minute walk away (3 blocks). Reasonably priced ride share and/or airport shuttle to downtown will drop you at the doorstep.
Rental cars not a necessity to get around downtown. However, if renting a car, I recommend using Turo.
Respectful bachelor and bachelorette party groups are welcome!

Due to our vibrant urban, downtown location, the eclectic mix of neighborhood residents, and the historic charm of the home (with its thinner walls and original windows), guests may occasionally notice a few city sounds or quirks — like creaks, footsteps, or nearby activity from neighbors, street traffic, construction sounds, or emergency vehicles. We’ve done our best to make the home as comfortable as possible, including providing white noise machines for restful sleep.
At the moment, there’s a city improvement project taking place in the neighborhood, which may bring some daytime construction activity. While we’re not connected to the project, it’s typically limited to regular business hours, and evenings are peaceful and quiet. We’ve thoughtfully adjusted our pricing to reflect this and ensure great value for our guests.
This house is two apartments, one above the other. The downstairs apartment is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms while the upstairs apartment is 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Although separate apartments, the house has large, open-concept living rooms that are great for large groups to spend time and enjoy meals together.
Beach Essentials - Towels, Chairs, Coolers, etc. available for rent (delivery & pickup included)!
The driveway has some height limitations. Some campers, trailers, and high profile vehicles have experienced difficulty fitting. The driveway accommodates two standard sized vehicles best.
Ring cameras are mounted on the exterior of the building for guest and property security.

I stayed here with a group of 13 women for a bachelorette party. The home was absolutely beautiful, thoughtfully stocked with all toiletries you could need, clean, spacious and in a very convenient location to walk to great restaurants and bars on Upper King. We had an issue with AC on our first night and the host was very responsive and got it fixed first thing the next morning, as well as sending us a round of drinks at dinner for the inconvenience. 5 stars well deserved!

Mauri was an excellent host with great communication. Her place was top notch and accommodated a large group of friends. We had everything we needed within walking distance and the house had everything we could’ve asked for and more. Stayed in both units. Great location, great amenities, and quiet. One thing I would improve as owner is move the two A/C condensing units off the back bedroom roof and down to the backyard. Current location makes upper unit back bedroom noisy, we could not occupy as a result. This may not bother some people but it bothered us.

Hi Pat, Thanks for the feedback! We have never received the comment that the back bedroom is noisy. In general, noises are easier heard in the house due to its historic nature that differs dramatically from that of new construction buildings. Had I known that this was an issue, I could have suggested using the white noise machines that we provide in the house. Hope you had a great stay & time in Charleston other than that!!
My friends and I (7 of us total) came to Charleston for a 40th birthday girls' trip, and we had a wonderful time staying at this property! The location was nice, the inside was decorated and appointed very nicely, and it was rarely noisy. (We drove by some other properties we have looked at online and were thankful we didn't book the ones that were on busy roads!) We especially loved the garden in the back and the cozy living rooms. I didn't realize at first that we rented 2 separate apartments within the same house, and that there was no way to move between the apartments unless you went outside, but it worked out fine and we used the upstairs apartment living room as our central "hanging out" spot. Mauri was lovely to deal with! I would recommend!

Like you some people don't realize the house is made of two apartments, but it often works out well to have two of everything (living spaces, kitchens - fridges, cooking appliances, etc.) as well as some separated space/bedrooms for any individuals who like to go to sleep earlier or need extra space. Luckily, both living spaces are very spacious with plenty of seating for a group of 15! Happy to hear you thought the same! Hope to have you back sometime!
