About this property
A beautiful period house sleeping 6 in a quiet hamlet overlooking The Dordogne
Built about 250 years ago, this self-catering Gite has immense charm and once was home to a farm labourer and his family. La Maison Perigordine has been renovated to retain many original features such as exposed beams, large fireplaces and floors of stone, tile and wood. Double doors open out onto the terrace that has commanding views over the surrounding countryside and towards the Dordogne River. Across the valley sit some of the 1000 Chateaux for which this Perigord region is well known. Ideal for family holidays in this part of France.
Please note though that La Maison Perigordine is suitable for infants but NOT for crawling toddlers due to a steep staircase.

We (family of 5, mom, dad and kids of 16, 18 and 20) spent a very nice week in a nice and quite gite with character and a pleasant and surprising touch of Africa in the decoration. Nice, large pool and garden with privacy.
Our hosts, Stuart and Tish, were very wellcoming, helpfull and spoiled us with some small attentions. They showed a genuine interest and gave us some good tips on things to do and to visit, restaurants etcetera without being too pushy. We had a great family holiday and can only recommend this stay !!!

Many thanks for your kind words and we so enjoyed having you to stay. Thank you for leaving the Gite so clean and tidy and one day we hope to be able to welcome you back.
We’ve rented several houses during our trip in France so far and most have been ok. This house is our overwhelming favorite. It’s in a very small settlement of lovely old stone houses with views of the Dordogne valley from many windows. Fairytale-like. The hosts live nearby and were available for any info we needed. Plus Tish brought us fresh baguette and croissants every morning! The house has electrical outlets everywhere, a full equipped kitchen and large bathrooms. It is within driving distance of St. Emilion, has nearby excellent restaurants and is close to many other lovely villages in Perigord. We highly recommend this wonderful home

Apologies about the tv, French tv has been available in the past but due to a relocation of a transmitter we currently are unable to get signal. We are working on a solution for this and hope to have it fixed soon. Thank you though for coming to stay, we can only say how desperately sad we were that the weather was so poor during your stay.
