Our place is perfect for family and friends or business. Brand new renovated and well equipped with all the essentials you will need after a day of exploring - you will LoVe your stay!

You will feel our nautical details in every room and can learn a lot about Whales at the same time if you like. The koholā (humpback whale) was well known to the early Hawaiians.

Our space offers a brand new Kitchen - designed in the colours of blue, white and Autumn Blush. The kitchen is well equipped as well. Another Highlight is the new renovated Bathroom especially the Shower - Throughout the home we have nice lighting plus ceilingfans and curtains in every room. The rooms are Breezy and have all the privacy you need to relax. Another Extra of this Home is also that we added a Brand new Washer and Dryer a guest feature as well as some Beach Essentials like Beach Towels for you to use so you do not have to bring it.

You can self Check-in with our Smart Lock. Easy Self Check-in via Code.

We are always available for our guests via phone call or text message or simply through the messenger just reach out to us we are happy to help.

Our single family home is located in Downtown Hilo with an upstairs and downstairs. You will have the Street level House all to your self with 2 Private entrances.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this charming two-bedroom home. We were thankful for the air conditioning in the bedrooms for sleeping. The main room was breezy and an enjoyable hang out spot for our family of four. We will be back!

House was very clean and convenient to airport. The neighborhood had alot of homeless people and drug activity not making it a good fit for our family as we did not feel safe. There are only window AC units in bedrooms and we couldn't hang out in living room because it was stifling hot.

Thank you for your feedback, Christine. We’re very glad you found the house clean and convenient to the airport. Our home is located in downtown Hilo, which has a more local, urban feel than the resort areas of the Big Island, and we understand that can sometimes be different from what first-time visitors to Hawaiʻi expect. As noted in our listing, the bedrooms are air-conditioned, while the living areas have ceiling fans and additional fans. Because electricity costs are very high in Hawaiʻi, whole-house air conditioning is not common in many local homes. Most of the year the fans keep the home comfortable, although we understand that particularly warm summer days can feel hotter. We appreciate your comments and are always looking for ways to make our guests’ stays more comfortable. Mahalos 🌺

Great location! Easy walk to restaurants and the farmer's market. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. Everything a person would need was in the house. There was always an open space right in front of the house to park our car. Overall, a great stay and would highly recommend.

Simone thought of everything! The kitchen had everything one would need during their stay. The towels were fluffy, there was plenty paper towels, TP, tissue etc. Even a flashlight to find your way to the bathroom at night. Comfortable beds, books about the island, food recommendations. I would definitely recommend this home for a stay in Hilo.

Such a cute place, very clean and inviting. Located in a quiet neighborhood very centrally located. Just a quick walk into town. We came for our son’s wedding at Honoli’i beach park. Would I stay her again? Yes!!!

Great place to stay right in the heart of Hilo. Whaler's Inn earns its name; part of the enjoyment of staying here is discovering all the little nautical details throughout the house. For example, the drainer basket in the kitchen sink has a little whale on it; later in the stay, I noticed that the TP dispenser was a whale's tail. Very fun, and always in good taste. Recommended.

The house is lovely. Thank God for the window air conditioners and laundry machines. We really liked the decor and it had everything we needed. FYI, the bathroom sink is very high. I'm 5'5" and I had to stand on tippy toes to wash my face. Not a big deal, though. There is also no recycling bin in the kitchen but we just kept recycling in a bag and walked it out. I also didn't realize that Hilo is the rainy side of the Big Island, lol, but that's on me. For activities, we enjoyed kayaking with Ocean Adventures (Eric was our amazing guide) and of course driving to Volcano National Park, which is much closer on this side of the island. The Japanese gardens in Hilo are lovely. However, the real highlight of Hilo was the culinary scene. Two Ladies Kitchen mochi is amazing. There will be a line but totally worth it. The shaved ice at the farmers market is also a must. For dinners, our favorite was Sushi Hideo. They only take reservations and only through the Yelp App but wow, worth the planning ahead. Other good places were Pineapple, and Pesto Bay Cafe. Papas Palaoa Bakery was also amazing, especially the cinnamon rolls and sourdough baked with poi. If you want a tattoo while there, South Seas tattoo shop with Matt is the best tattoo shop I've ever been to.
