Quelet – A Charming Catalan Stone House with Stunning Views of the Pyrenees

Nestled in the open countryside with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, Quelet is a beautifully restored Catalan stone house that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern comfort. This lovely property, which has been in our family for four generations, was originally built in 1840 and has since been fully renovated to offer contemporary amenities while preserving its original character.

The house is available for rent as a whole property, perfect for groups of up to six people. Set within a generous private garden of over 3,000 m², the property includes a private swimming pool, offering an ideal retreat for relaxation and enjoyment.

The private garden and swimming pool, surrounded by the breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, provide the perfect place to relax. The interior is equally special. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including a convection oven, ideal for baking bread or preparing delicious meals. The cozy living room, complete with a fireplace, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere — perfect for spending quality time with family or enjoying a good book.

The living room also opens directly onto a large outdoor terrace (47 m²), allowing guests to take in the views of the garden, swimming pool, and surrounding countryside while enjoying the fresh air.

A newly renovated large function room on the ground floor features natural stone walls and an authentic Catalan roof structure. With excellent acoustics and a relaxed atmosphere, this space is ideal for gatherings or simply enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings.

Fantastic house has everything you could possibly need. Very clean and comfortable. The garden is beautiful with a great pool and an amazing selection of pool toys. We enjoyed the evenings on the terrace watching out for the wild boar in the field at the end of the garden. Àngels was very helpful with suggestions on places to visit and local restaurants. Overall a brilliant stay would definitely like to go back again and spend more than a week.

Casa preciosa y acogedora en un lugar privilegiado

Hemos pasado dos noches en esta bonita casa de la Garrotxa. Nos recibió Angels, la propietaria, que con mucha amabilidad nos explicó todo. El sitio es ideal, cerca de Olot, pero en medio de las montañas. La casa preciosa, perfectamente equipada, no le falta ningún detalle y está decorada con mucho gusto. Hemos disfrutado de la terraza, la barbacoa, y el inmenso jardín con la piscina. Una experiencia para repetir.

Magnifique propriété et maison pour des vacances parfaites

Nous avons passé deux superbes semaines à la Masia Quelet; très beau terrain, piscine, équipements et la maison est très bien équipée, agréable et décorée avec goût. Au calme dans le Vall de Byana, nous étions à moins d’une heure de la Costa Brava, 1h30 de Barcelone, et avons pu nous promener dans le parc des volcans et les Pyrénées catalanes.

Prachtig huis, fijne sfeer

Het huis is mooi ingericht met lichte meubels. Door de verschillende plekken waar je kan zitten (bij het zwembad, de lounge-hoek, het terras) is er ruimte voor iedereen. Mooi uitzicht op de bergen. Wij hebben in de omgeving gefietst, gewandeld, Gerone en Figueres bezocht, allemaal goed te doen vanuit deze lokatie. Gastvrouw Angel was fantastisch, heeft ons goede tips gegeven. Een huis om je direct thuis te voelen!

An absolute dream house in The Spanish Pyrenees!

Run by a lovely host who was born in the it, we fell in love with the house. It has fabulous vistas on the Pyrenées, and there is so much wild nature to hike in. This part of Spain had its own culture, great food and wine, and very kind people. We are inspired!

Deze authentieke vakantiewoning is een goeie uitvalsbasis om Vic, castellfollit dela roca, Besalú, Girona en Figueres/Empuriabrava te bezoeken. Olot is een aangename stad op 5km waar je alles vindt. De tuin heeft een fabuleus zicht op de bergen en het zwembad is top! Enig minpunt is de drukke gewestweg maar dit valt al bij al nog mee.

Fantastic! One of the best places we've stayed.

To start off with, Angels is a lovely host - friendly, smiling and accommodating. This is always a great start to any holiday. The house has a great blend of old character and modern renovation. We lived mostly on the middle floor, where the bedrooms, kithchen and living room are. These are tastefully decorated with good and modern facilties. Downstairs is an additional dining area, with two hang out spaces. Our kids used this area a little - it has it's own TV, access to the garden and bathroom with a shower. Outside, the pool was refreshingly cool. The garden is immense, with 360 degree views. There is a little traffic noise from the nearby road, but it doesn't intrude and becomes unnoticeable after a while. Bikes were provided, and there are tracks to local villages on the far side of the main road. Modern Samsung TVs are provided. There is a small collection of books in a couple of different languages if you're stuck. There is small music center and a large bluetooth speaker for your entertainment. While the location seems a bit remote, there are plenty of things to do within an hours drive, such as Figures (Salvador Dali museum), Girona, Vic, Nuria, Besalu, the Gorg Blau & Alta Garrotxa, Croscat Volcano, Camprodon, Mollo Parc, etc. All in all, a fantastic house, host and location!

On a passé de très bonnes vacances au sein de la maison. Tout est prévu pour que l’on se sente tout de suite comme chez soi. Angels est adorable et très à l’écoute. On a été très bien accueilli. Concernant la maison c’est juste magique. La piscine, l’espace extérieur et le confort intérieur vraiment rien à redire. Des vacances de rêves ! Merci encore !

Unique house with huge backyard in a breathtaking setting!

We are a family of 5 (children aged 11,12 and 15) who stayed at Masia Quelet in july 2018. We had a blast! The old house has been beautifully restored while still keeping its original charm. Although we didn’t use it, the ground floor has a kitchen, bathroom, dining room and 3 living spaces. The main floor has 3 bedrooms, a complete bathroom, a living room, a dining room, a well equipped kitchen and a terrace that leads to the backyard. And then the backyard!! The pool is so inviting and the grassy area is big enough that we could play soccer and frisbee... at the same time! The house is located next to a fairly busy road, but we stopped hearing the noise very quickly. A tip for dealing with the hot and humid weather: open all doors and windows early in the morning and close them after an hour. There’s so much to do in the area! Don’t miss the Dali museum in Figueres, Girona, a hike in the mountains, Besalu village and Olot. There are 2 highend restaurants nearby: Les Cols (2 michelin stars) and our personal favorite Cal’enric (1 michelin star). Casa Nasia, just down the road, was a great meal to mark the end of our stay. Angels is a wonderful host and provided us with great recommendations. We would love to come back!

It was absolutely superb in every way, the owners where there to greet us and show us all the house.

The house was amazing and all as described if not better,with so much space and in lovely condition with all the facilities you could need including a brilliant pool. The town of Olot was really nice with all the shops you could need. The owners were so kind and met us when we arrived to show us around and explain all the facilities, the house is an old Catalan property brought right up to date and could not have been bettered. We visited Barcelona , the Pyrenees and lots of picturesque local villages. We would thoroughly recommend this property. Jan and Tony Howe.

Why they chose this property

Since my great-grandfather built this house in 1845, it has been a cherished home for my family. As a result, it holds a deep and special significance for me. Although I am uncertain how long I will continue renting it, I may one day return to live here with my family. In the meantime, I take great pleasure in welcoming guests and ensuring that they experience the rich history of the house during their stay
