This private casita is a new studio apartment boasting a bright, airy open space just steps from the private beach and beside the new fresh water pool. The casita is self contained with a full kitchen, private bath, living area and lovely outdoor patio perfect for dining and entertaining. The apartment is modern with cement counters, stainless appliances, with traditional wood louvered windows (with screens) to let the beautiful sea breeze through.

THE PROPERTY
Soliman Bay is an undiscovered gem on the Riviera Maya. The Casa Playa Maya property is situated in the central location on Soliman Bay which has a rock-free beach with soft, white sand. The beach is at your doorstep and largely private and undiscovered, so the beach is never crowded.

Protected by the second largest coral reef in the world, we have the safest snorkelling, calm, warm water and abundant sea life.

Casa Playa Maya Properties is ideal for families, groups, or weddings. Each unit on the property can be rented individually or any group combination.

SERVICES
We want your stay to be relaxing and stress free. for a small fee, our property management team can provide:
• Stocked fridge upon your arrival – including beer, wine, tequila
• Concierge services to help with airport transfer, attractions, and local restaurants

Luis and Anabel will attend to your every need. They have restaurant training and can provide a dinner service with excellent Mexican flare. They also:
• Keep the beach clean
• Ensure your room(s) are fresh and tidy
• Address any maintenance issues immediately
Luis will even cut you a fresh coconut from one of our many trees for the perfect afternoon cocktail.

THE BAY
Soliman Bay is the hidden gem of Tulum. Just a few minutes north of Tulum center, it is exclusive and private. Entry to Soliman Bay is protected by our Security checkpoint staff.

GETTING AROUND
We can provide shuttle service from the airport or you can rent a car from the airport or in Tulum. Regular bus service can transport you to Tulum and other attractions with very inexpensive fares. In Tulum, you will find old town Mexico, which has become the chic destination for visitors across the globe. World class restaurants, authentic Mexican dining and an American-style department store for your every need. Tourist activities include kiteboarding, scuba trips, cenote dives and swimming, adventure parks, Mayan ruins and more.

TURTLE NESTING
Between July and October is turtle season. Because Soliman Bay is quiet, abundant sea turtles choose Soliman Bay to make their nests here. Many of our guests have had the once in a lifetime opportunity to view this amazing natural phenomenon of nesting and hatchlings returning to the sea.

Peaceful & Perfect!

We absolutely LOVED our 4 day stay at Casa Playa Maya! It was the perfect quiet, restful getaway for my husband & I. Luis met us as we parked and gave us a tour, instructions, and answered all our questions. Throughout our stay, he was always available in person or by phone for restaurant & activity recommendations, setting us up with snorkeling equipment & kayaks, and any other thing we needed. Casita #4 was lovely - clean, well equipped, private, and comfortable in every way. It was nice to have our own deck overlooking the pool & a bar-b-q to use for cooking (on top of the nicely stocked kitchen.) The beach was fantastic with hammocks, lounge chairs, shade, and such a gorgeous view. We thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling for the first time in the clear, warm water with coral reefs accessible (a small one 50' from the shore and lots more out in the bay.) I highly recommend this place and the staff who manage it!

Beautiful casita on a glorious shelter bay

We loved it! Prompt communication with Glynis. Luis was an incredible host. The casita had everything we needed for a self catered 6 night stay. A car is recommended for freedom of moment to the surrounding area as there is only the restaurant at Jashita hotel. This is a secure community and we shared a private part of the beach with the 4 other casitas and the villa on the property. It is a stunning bay and we highly recommend staying here if you would like a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Apartment in Tulum

I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. The host was awesome and responsive to my questions. The caretaker Luis who lives on the property was great he was there for our needs. The beach is 100 yards away and snorkeling gear and kayaks were available for the guests use. You won't be disappointed.

Cozy studio

Very satisfied with this studio which we rented for 2 weeks. We arrived late the first night and we were exhausted! It was so wonderful that Luis was up and waiting for us - and helped us get our luggage up to our room and get us settled in. So appreciated that! The bed was super comfortable for us, everything was in working order, and Luis (on site property manager) was easy to contact and quick to respond to any needs. Soliman bay is a very special place to be. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out on the beach out front - using the kayaks and snorkeling in the protected bay. The coral structures, fish and warm water makes this a great place to spend time especially if you value a quiet environment to read, relax and chill out. Only occasional beach walkers going by. I would stay here again - my only suggestion to the owner would be to have 2 adirondack chairs for each cabana lanai instead of 1 so that 2 people can sit comfortably together instead of 1 person in “the good chair” and the other in a straight backed wooden chair that is not for long term relaxing! Again - loved it and would stay there again if the price point stays reasonable.

Michael and I purchased Casa Playa Maya from it's original owner (Bill) in 2016. Bill built Casa Playa and was the 2nd property on the bay some 25 years ago. Bill wanted to retire and travel the world so we took over as owners...one of the best things we have ever done. We really want to share this amazing location with others and make memorable holidays and memories. Most of our guests are return visitors and welcome you back and new guests.
We have extensive experience in construction and had the skills and resources to do major improvements to the property. This includes a complete refresh on existing Casitas 1 and 2. A new Casita Building with units 3 and 4. A brand new beach front Villa. Additional upgrades are new septic, water, swimming pool, landscaping, outdoor furnishings and our own internet tower. What more could anyone want and we want our guests to come away feeling like they have truly escaped!

Soliman Bay remains the best kept secret on the Riviera Maya and we feel blessed to have discovered it.

What makes this property unique

This is the polar opposite of an all inclusive resort. There are no crowds, but Tulum is close enough for some night life, great award-winning restaurants, mayan ruins and other attractions. Soliman Bay hosts only 48 properties and sits on the 2nd largest reef in the world. The beach and water have lovely white sand, the water is warm and aquamarine. Because the bay is uncrowded, guests can expect to see lots of sea life like sea turtles, rays, tropical fish, crayfish and more. Our community operates the Bahai-Soliman Turtle Protection Program and we hatch over 3000 baby turtles on the bay each year and it's climbing. These are only a few special things...the rest are you...when you visit.
