Casa Cavu is located on the white sand beach of Tankah Tres, 80 miles south of the Cancun airport and 10 minutes north of Tulum. Relax around the oceanside swimming pool and spend your days lounging around this beautiful beach house. Three restaurants, a small convenience store, and a freshwater cenote are within a short walk. Parking, beach towels, purified water, and professional cleaning service six days per week are included.

General Layout: Casa Cavu is a two-level beach house with three bedrooms and an open floor plan. The main level consists of an open layout living room with a flat-screen Satellite TV and DVD, a dining area with a breakfast bar, and a fully equipped modern kitchen. There is WiFi throughout the house. Sliding glass doors highlight the view over the beachside pool and Tankah Bay.

Two bedrooms are located on the main level and share a bath.

- The lower king bedroom with AC enjoys ocean-view windows and has beach access via sliding doors.
- The second bedroom has one queen and one single bed with a/c and garden view.

The master suite is on the upper level, furnished with a king bed and private bath, and air-conditioned.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Over all awesome. A few small things. The fridge did not cold enough and I had to fix the toilet every time we used it. Erma was awesome and we really loved the place. The beach images are a little misleading. It was a lot more rocky than it looked like.

We were a 3-generation family (ages 3.5, 67 and late 20-year-olds) visiting Tulum for the 1st time. We had an excellent experience. Casa Cavu was a choice location. We had plenty of space for all of us, excellent hosts and wonderful day trips to nearby Maya ruins, cenotes and the downtown area. We enjoyed the kitchen, grill and pool every day. We even broke through the sargassum with the kayaks to do some snorkeling. Looking forward to a 2nd trip to this wonder location.

Great stay! Wouldn’t have changed a thing. Privacy and seclusion. Outside of the city to avoid tons of people but close enough to come in enjoy and close to all the outside attractions! Jose who maintained the property was great, had fresh food for snacks and was out going in maintaining or pleasure during the stay!

We arrived to find a huge construction site next door. Only 10 feet away, were 30 men crashing and banging from 8am to 6pm. I had contacted the rental company to make sure this would not be the case because I had seen reviews mentioning work before and was assured that no work had been done on the site in the last 6 months - the cleaners told us that work had been going on for at least the last three months. So complete misinformation and one can only imagine it was deliberate.

In this case, construction had actually stopped for about 6 months and then restarted unexpectedly just before your arrival. Unfortunately, we were not made aware in time to notify you beforehand. The caretakers at the time were also new to this property and hadn't been there in the previous months. As soon as you brought it to our attention, we acted immediately and offered both a discount and the option to move to another property. We’re glad we were able to relocate you right away so your stay could continue more comfortably. We’ve also had other guests stay during the previous construction period who shared that they did not find it overly disruptive, though we completely understand that everyone’s sensitivity to noise can differ. We would never intentionally withhold this kind of information, and we truly regret that this situation impacted your experience. We had 5 guests and another couple two door down. The house was a great central location. Pool, beach, kayaks lounge chairs were wonderful!. We arranged for a welcome dinner, which was amazing as well!

Great Vacation

My wife and I stayed here for 6 days for a short getaway and much-needed vacation during these difficult times. The house and property are beautiful. Isidro and Rocio are great and we had a very nice meal prepared and served by them! We rented a car and did a bit of sight seeing, hung out a lot at the pool and beach and had a great time. We definitely recommend staying here.

Gorgeous beachside house outside of Tulum

I came to Casa Cavu with four friends to enjoy a week together. The place is beautiful - fantastic beach, delightful pool and near several cenotes. The caretakers are lovely and quite accommodating. The house was impeccably clean. If you stay here you should budget for taxis to and from Tulum, but this was worth it for the quality of the space we had. Highly recommended!

Wonderful!

We stayed for 8 nights and had the best time! The pool was lovely and clean, the beach was very private feeling and we floated and snorkeled in the ocean everyday right there. Jose and Delfina were WONDERFUL! They made us homemade salsa (the best we have ever had!) and guacamole several times, cut us fresh coconuts to drink and eat and were there for anything we needed or to answer any questions we had. We set up massages at the house and several excursions through Akumal Direct and everything was flawless. Loved every minute here!

Wonderfully beautiful waterfront near Talum and Akumal

Casa Cavu is a beautiful house and made our stay perfect. Pool and beach were picture perfect and soooo relaxing. Kitchen was large and dining room beautiful which allowed us to have wonderful diners (wonderful grocery store in nearby Talum). The beds were wonderfully made by senora Rocio and she clean the house every day just like at a 5 star hotel :-) Isidro and Rocio were just excellent and made our stay extremely pleasant. Talum and Akumal were just 15 minutes. The Kayaks, Snorkeling, and a local Cenote just down the street added to the fun. Can't wait to return to Talum & Akumal and would definitely stay at Casa Cavu again!

Beautiful Property - Perfect Vacation Rental

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the caretakers, Isidro and Rocio. The property is located in a quiet area of Tulum right on Tankah Bay. Beautiful snorkeling right outside the property. Our family loved the property so much, that our favorite days of our vacation were simply staying back and enjoying the ocean and pool. Isidro cleaned the seaweed and raked the beach every morning. During our stay, the seaweed was a non-issue. Very small amount. Rocio cleaned the house every day. They were both diligent and it was so appreciated. The pool and home were pristine. The home had everything we needed including filtered water, oil, spices, etc. Everything was truly perfect for our family. We hope to be back again!

Casa Cavu is wonderful!

It is a wonderful property. We loved the view and being able to walk to a few restaurants. The location is perfect. It’s a quiet area with a Cenote within walking distance. It’s convenient to Akumal and Tulúm. There is construction next door, but it wasn’t disruptive. The groundskeeper and housekeeper were attentive. A place on the beach was cleared daily. Some of the furniture needs an upgrade. The living room sofa was difficult to sit on. Cushions were uncomfortable and didn’t stay put. It could be a problem for people with limited mobility. More/nicer outdoor furniture could really put this house at the next level. We would rent this house again.

Lovely and accurate getaway

The house was exactly as described, and all of my questions prior to our stay were answered promptly. The managing company was attentive and helped us feel prepared for our stay, then were just as prompt to respond whenever we reached out during our stay. The caretakers on the property were sweet and kept the house and beach clean and fresh water and towels stocked. On a rainy day, they brought us fresh coconut and hot chocolate! The house was a great home base for us as we explored nearby akumal beach, cenotes, and tulum ruins, and we made great use of the pool. We ordered groceries to be delivered ahead of time, but there are plenty of great grocery store options on the way from cancun airport or a 10 min drive away in tulum. There are also great restaurant options a short walk away. The road from the highway to the house is very bumpy - not so bad that it kept us from leaving the house when we wanted, but we won’t miss it. Overall a quiet, safe home for our family trip to Mexico!

Casa Cavu private paradise

Other than difficulty finding the property (directions need updated) and the major pot holes in the road in and out of the place - everything else was pleasant. The construction going on next door got loud at times. There were several restaurants within walking distance but not much else without leaving the area. If you are looking for a remote tranquil place to stay this is it. Beach was pretty private with not many people around when we were there. Very close to Tulum where we did grocery shopping. The caretakers are exceptional. We had one issue with the safe not opening, I contacted the property managers via email and they were on it quickly enough. No issues at all with the house itself. Wifi worked great and we were able to bring in several main stream television channels. Property is very secure.

Gorgeous house, wonderful stay, great location

We stayed for 5 nights with my sister, wife and 2 kids. We had perfect weather other than a stray T storm and Isidro made most of our BFs and dinners. He's a good (but not amazing cook - we stayed at a different VRBO last year and had a very talented chef so our expectations were high - but he was very personable and presentation was great.) Rocio as a cleaning lady was a godsend. Overall, enjoy the white sand, gorgeous bay, perfect pool, and tons of cenotes for great morning trips. Even a day trip to the ruins was nice. The only downside has nothing to do with the house, but the tons of seaweed that make the water murky and cover the beach in the mornings. Isidro does his best, but it's a problem for the whole Yucatan coast - we wish it would go away and so does everyone else I think too! We stopped at Playa De Carmen on our way back to the airport and it was even worse there. Rhett was also very helpful when the internet went out one day. Overall, would def. return if the seaweed situation clears up! Very good value!

Some days there is a large influx of the seaweed to the shore while other days there's nothing. The situation is slowly improving and everyone is doing their very best to clean the beaches.
