House was fairly updated, with the exception of the bathroom showers, pool, and yard. The house overall was clean enough, but the bathroom had hair in the shower - not very clean. I found moldy hamburger buns in the kitchen cupboard and the microwave vent cover was missing. The pool was not heated, dirty, and the cement was chipping off the bottom in the shallow end and on the stairs. Could not swim in it. The listing did not state that the pool wasn't heated nor did the owner ask if we wanted it heated.
Property says walk to Old Town - it really is far and not walkable.
Photos are misleading, especially for the pool.
The owner was responsive and very easy to communicate with. Check in was great and the house is in a wonderful location.
However the pictures are mis leading and the house is very run down. If you don’t care about the condition of the house and you only care about location. This is for you. But we stayed for over two months and there are a lot of maintenance issues. The pool looks horrible. The retaining wall around the pool is falling down. There was duct tape on the microwave. The handle on the dishwasher fell off. All the towel racks / hangers were loose and fell off the wall. Every room has a hole in the wall from the door knob and holes from various picture’s that used to be hung up. The carpet looks 30 years old. The curtain rods fall down. Basically everything that gets wrecked in a rental property was wrecked.
I personally fixed the following items. Replaced dishwasher handle. There were 2 cupboard doors that were broke. ( I fixed them.) I re hung a shower curtain. I re hung and tightened 2 different towel racks in the bathrooms. This is all basic maintenance, that a handy man could fix in 2-3 days. Finally the furniture is worn out. The pool furniture is all broken. The dining room table has 3 plastic Chairs from the 80s.
If you don’t care about these things and you’re staying for a day. Then rent it and enjoy the great location. If these things matter. I couldn’t recommend the place until basic maintenance was done.
We stayed at this property for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. We worked from here during the day, both of us on the internet which worked very well, and were close to everything for dinner and adventures out in to Scottsdale during the evenings and weekends. We enjoyed the pool, even though it wasn't heated the temperature was still perfectly fine on the 90 degree days. We also loved the neighborhood, very quiet and friendly but super close to everything. We would definitely stay here again, it was perfect for what we were looking for!
Great place for us. Near Old Town Scottsdale for brewery and restaurants. Great hiking nearby. Backyard, pool and patio made it even better.

Area was good house not great
Kitchen and dining room were dark there were no bulbs. The garage was dirty and had stuff scattered. The washing machine was dirty. Didn’t have a check in or out sheet. When I reached out. I received two responses then nothing.
Didn’t know if we were to strip the beds …
We loved the location. The house is very comfortable, clean and we felt very safe. We will return when we come back. The owner was very punctual when responding to our questions. Thank you for sharing your home with us Steve and family!!
The house is tucked in a quiet neighborhood in which friendly people greeted us. The bedrooms were a good size. The property manager got back to us quickly regarding any concerns.

Terrible Experience - Property is not as advertised
The property looked great on the VRBO website but it is not as advertised. Upon arrival I found the property to have a foul smell, urine stained carpeting, plaster missing from the pool, old food left in the refrigerator, the microwave oven held together with duct tape, urine and toilet paper still in the toilet. The property is not clean. My wife and I could not stay in this property and had to hustle to find somewhere else to stay at the last minute. Since it was last minute, I had to pay more for the other property. I contacted VRBO and the property owner who both refused to refund the required full payment for the stay. I could not be more displeased.

Unfortunately, there are guests that are willing to lie In order to circumvent the rules and Dan is one of those individuals. Let this be a cautionary tale for other potential hosts out there. Always document the condition of home prior to
Guest arrival. Luckily, I did, and am able to prove that the home was in immaculate condition when Dan arrived. Initially, Dan was unhappy because the pool wasn’t heated but changed his tune when he realized that a heated pool wasn’t part of the listing description. In an effort to try and get out of the lease he made up stories about cleanliness. It’s unfortunate. I always try and work with guests but given that it was a 2 week stay over the holidays (peak season for AZ) I could not provide a full refund. Dan then went to his credit card company to stop payment and is now trashing the reputation of this wonderful property. Please see the other reviews....
We had a wonderful time staying here. Home is lovely and in a very quiet and convenient neighborhood close to Old Town, restaurants, hiking. Spent lots of time outdoors on patio area/ pool.
Owner was very accommodating and prompt answering questions and making recommendations. Highly recommend.
The owner was great to work with and we loved the location. We spent a lot of time in the pool and the dogs loved the yard.
It was clean and well equipped with necessities.
We will reserve again!
