This cosy cottage is a semi-detached wing of the owner’s cottage, in the village of Great Urswick, and can sleep two people in one bedroom.
The Crook is a quaint semi-detached wing of the owner's home set in the heart of the village of Great Urswick, three miles from Ulverston. With one bedroom and a modern shower room, this cottage can sleep two people.The rest of the cottage is made up of an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is off road parking for one car and a decked patio garden with furniture. The Crook is a lovely, rural base for exploring the Lake District, and is an idea, romantic retreat.
Amenities: Gas central heating with electric stove. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with FreeSat, DVD, CD, selection of books and games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Off road parking for 1 car. Decked garden with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops 2 miles, pubs and restaurant 2 mins walk. Note: Children under the age of 2 only.

Town: Great Urswick, with its two characterful pubs and restaurant, is a hidden gem, a lovely village just two miles to the south of Ulverston. Along with its neighbour, Little Urswick, they lie on opposite sides of the same tarn. The tarn is a wonderful wildlife habitat with a whole host of water birds occupying its sheltered corner. Birkrigg Stone Circle is one of several prehistoric settlement sites in the surrounding countryside. Locally, the start of the Haematite and Cumbrian Way footpaths can be found. Nearby Ulverston is an ancient market town, which still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Facilities include a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, a cinema and a leisure centre. All of the attractions of the Lake District National Park are easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Windermere and Coniston are within easy reach, and nearby family attractions include the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Steam Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Muncaster Castle and the Aquarium of the Lakes.
