About this property
On the banks of the Gande - SALORNAY-SUR-GUYE
In love and perfect ambassadors of their territory, Jean-Luc and Chantal welcome you to a former oil mill, fully and carefully restored, along the Gande River and a stone's throw from a magnificent little medieval bridge. Nestled in the hollow of a valley, this cottage offers a magnificent, relaxing and unobstructed view of a hilly and wooded landscape specific to the Clunisois and Charolais. This village has several marked trails and a remarkable "sensitive natural area" classified within the Bois de la Roche where fauna and flora are abundant. A mini "green belt" along the Gande hosts an arboretum listing around a hundred species, a conservation orchard as well as a sports trail and a playground for children. The tombs of Lucie and Raymond Aubrac also tell a more contemporary story revolving around the Resistance and the maquisards hidden in this magnificent wooded and bucolic territory. Comfortable, bright, and perfectly located cottage with a contemporary country feel. The pleasant 400m² enclosed, landscaped, and flowery garden features a large, shaded terrace, a small part of which is located at the back of the house! Ideal for enjoying the coolness of the river and for fishing enthusiasts. Composition: Gite on the 1st floor adjoining the owners' home (complete independence and not overlooked). Wi-Fi. Electric heating. Living room/kitchen/lounge (double sofa bed 140x190cm as an extra), 1 bedroom (double bed 140x190cm + single bed 120x190cm), bathroom (shower/toilet). Enclosed grounds + terrace + private parking. Shops and services 200m away. TGV stations: Mâcon Loché 33.5 km, Le Creusot 36 km. Former 19th century mill – with a pleasant enclosed garden of 400m2 along a small, relaxing and revitalizing river – fully restored and full of history. Located 200m from the small, quiet and commercial village of Salornay-sur-Guye, close to numerous hiking trails, on the Romanesque churches circuit and 9 km from the greenway. In the heart of the Cluny countryside, in the hollow of a valley rich in wooded massifs and hedged areas. Between Mâconnais-Clunisois, Chalonnais and Charolais, in the heart of a territory rich in gastronomy – renowned cattle and sheep breeds –, wine – wines from the Mâconnais and Côtes Chalonnaises –, and heritage – the abbeys of Cluny and Tournus, the cathedral of Chalon-sur-Saône, the basilica of Paray-le-Monial and numerous castles. Privileged location: 11 km from the village of Cormatin with its magnificent castle renowned for its gardens, 13 km from the abbey-city of Cluny, 29 km from Charolles and Tournus, 30 km from Montceau-les-Mines, 34 km from the sumptuous landscaped jewel of the Roche de Solutré labeled "Grand Site de France", 37 km from Mâcon and 42 km from Le Creusot (& its Combes amusement park). Ideal for a relaxing moment with the family where the gentle sound of the river and the nature trails allow you to recharge your batteries in peace!
