Capt. Tony and Nancy are friendly, well-organized, helpful hosts, and great communicators. They put a lot of love and creativity into their cabin. I loved the fall decor and fresh flowers from the garden. Everything was very clean, the bed was super comfortable with high quality pillows and linens. The views from the private covered porch were gorgeous. The quiet, high country environment was just right for my solo retreat. Thank you!

Our anniversary getaway at Captain Tony and Nancy's beautiful mountain home was everything we could have hoped for and more.Their place was spotless, cozy, and so thoughtfully prepared-it instantly felt like a home away from home. We loved every moment, from peaceful walks along the Oconaluftee River and relaxing time at Lake Junaluska, to exploring the charm of downtown Waynesville with its great food and local shops. It was the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and small-town magic. We're already looking forward to our next trip back to this wonderful state filled with kind-hearted people

My husband and I had a really great time staying in this mountain cabin over the Labor Day weekend. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, beautiful, stylish, very clean, well-equipped with modern amenities, we had everything we needed during our stay. The view from the porch is spectacular, especially during sunset! The property is situated in a convenient location, close to all local amenities and facilities while peaceful and quiet. The owners are very kind and welcoming, provided lots of helpful information about the surrounding area, such as river walks, numerous waterfalls, hikes to awe-inspiring mountain and valley views, historic sites, local restaurants and more. We were lucky to observe some animals in their natural habitats, including elks, black bears (make sure to keep a distance)), chipmunks, rabbits, groundhogs, hummingbirds and many other kinds of birds. We will consider this place for our future mountain retreats!

Wonderful Second Stay

Captain Tony and Nancy are exceptional and highly attentive hosts. This is our second visit as we enjoyed our stay from last year so much. The property is very comfortable, has all the amenities, and the mountain views are magnificent. Captain Tony is extremely helpful, offering great recommendations for both dining out and sightseeing. We brought our dog, Sophie, and Tony gave us good recommendations for hikes and restaurants that allowed us to include her. Tony and his wife, Nancy, are incredibly gracious, and words can’t fully capture just how wonderful they are.

Breathtaking Stay at Qualla Cabin – A Smoky Mountains Gem!

We had such a great time staying at Qualla Cabin in the Smoky Mountains. The view from the porch was absolutely incredible, you could see for miles, and watching the sunset with a drink in hand was something we’ll never forget. The cabin was super clean, the bed was really comfortable, and it had everything we needed. You can tell it’s well taken care of.Captain Tony and his wife Nancy were the best hosts we’ve ever had. They were so friendly and helpful—gave us great tips on where to hike, where to spot elk and bears, and even recommended some awesome places to eat and shop nearby. The location was perfect. It’s only a few minutes from the entrance to the national park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is just down the road. We ended up driving that way a lot because the views, waterfalls, and winding mountain roads were way more fun than the main highway. There were plenty of great places to eat, especially some nearby brewpubs with good food and outdoor seating. And we can’t forget Joey’s in Maggie Valley, one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a long time.If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing views and great hosts, this is the spot. We’re already talking about coming back!

Wonderful Stay

This is one our best VRBO stays and our first visit to the area. Qualla cabin was immaculate and centrally located to all areas of interest. Easy drive to Great Smokey Mtn. National Park, Waynesville, Gatlinburg and Blue Ridge Parkway. We greatly enjoyed watching evening sunsets while sitting on the porch. Views of the mountains from the porch are magnificent. Capt. Tony and wife, Nancy, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They provided superb recommendations on places to visit. Thank you, Capt. Tony and Nancy for making our stay so enjoyable. Our dog, Sophie, also thanks you.

A little piece of heaven

STOP LOOKING AT OTHER VRBOs this place is perfect. The photos do not do it justice!!! Fantastic hosts (Captain Tony & Nancy) communication was fast and in-depth and both were extremely friendly. Sophie and Merlyn (furry babies) were delightful. The cabin is spotlessly clean, well equipped everything you will need. The views are out of this world, mountains, trees and sunsets!!!! Peaceful with nothing but the sounds of nature to listen to. The home is soundproofed so you don’t hear a thing when you are indoors. Thank you for an amazing stay!!!

Lovely Mountain Retreat!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Quallah Cabin with Capt. Tony and his wife, Nancy. Communication with the hosts was very clear and prompt. Getting to the cabin was easy, and we were able to take a route up the mountain that did not need 4-wheel drive. Inside, the cabin was very quiet and private feeling. The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook an easy meal and it was very well organized. I appreciated that they provided some decaf coffee packets. The view from the cabin was phenomenal and we enjoyed watching the sunset each evening. They had a nice porch with rocking chairs and a swing, and we were able to watch the birds on their bird feeder! Definitely a 5-star accommodation!

Amazing views, wildlife, close to park

We loved our stay at Qualla Cabin, with it's great view of the Plott Balsam mountain range. The sunsets were spectacular (and we hear the sunrises are, too, but the bed was so comfy, we slept too late to see them😉)! We appreciated how close the cabin is to the parkway and the GSMNP, which we drove through nearly every day, and that it also is an easy drive to Waynesville and Bryson City, and very close to Cherokee, though we didn't spend any time there. We have been in the Maggie Valley area several times but visited the Deep Creek area near Bryson City and did the waterfall hikes this visit, which we enjoyed a lot. While we went all over the park, the Deep Creek area was far less populated on the trails near the Road to Nowhere. The location is also an easy drive to Asheville...we made an enjoyable day trip to visit friends. Owner Tony's restaurant recs were great. We especially enjoyed the Sweet Onion and Pappas and Beer in Waynesville Tony and Nancy are good humans who genuinely care about the quality of your stay. Their passion for hospitality is evidenced by the warm, cosy, attentively decorated studio space you'll be staying in...small but well laid out, great for two people and carefully designed to maximize comfort. Wild turkey and other birds were abundant and the weather was perfect for us. Felt like the ideal time of year to be there. Thanks, Tony and Nancy!

What a gorgeous cabin! Everything was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Lovely furniture, appliances, linens, overall feel of the place — all wonderful. The views are spectacular! It is quiet and peaceful, and there are so many stars without the light noise of a city. Capt. Tony and Nancy were so welcoming, and were incredibly helpful in suggesting sights and restaurants and towns to visit. They answered messages immediately, and were so hospitable and warm. They even had dog treats for our pup, Ella. If I could give this place 15 stars, I would. (By the way, the VRBO app had us rate skiing—it was October, no skiing that time of year in NC, and I don’t ski, but I had to fill that in section for VRBO to complete the recommendation, which I wanted to do because we enjoyed it so much.) We will definitely stay here again. Plus, there is so much hiking around the general area, dog-friendly towns if you’re bringing your pup, and the elk at Oconaluftee Visitor Center fields were fascinating. The Blue Ridge Parkway is spectacular. Don’t wait — book it!

My husband and I love this little cabin. The mountain views are perfect from all areas inside the cabin, but my favorite view was from the front porch. Capt Tony and Mrs. Nancy were the sweetest hosts and ensured we were ok and comfortable throughout our stay. Capt Tony gave us suggestions of things to do and places to eat while in the area….. his suggestions did not disappoint, all were amazing!! The hospitality given to us by Capt Tony and Mrs. Nancy was phenomenal!! 5 stars all the way!!! We will certainly book this cabin again! Thank you Capt Tony and Mrs. Nancy!!

Excellent!

The cabin was great as were the hosts. Everything was clean, private, and well maintained. The hosts went above and beyond for us. We had to find a place quickly because my husband’s brother took a turn for the worse and we got there just in time to say goodbye. Capt. Tony bought a sympathy card and treats for my pups. The special little touches like fresh flowers in the kitchen, bathroom, and front porch made it welcoming and homey. He was very helpful with restaurant advice and things to do that I hope to one day be able to do. The reason for the visit was the only downside.
