Growing up in New Orleans, the oldest of six children, I wanted to recreate for my extended family and friends a more modern and easily accessible version of my grandparents’ lakehouse, where we would escape the heat and humidity of the summer, and enjoy slowing down in nature. Designed to allow for small gatherings and a variety of outdoor activities and games, it also provides a multitude of settings for solitude, rest, reading, and quiet reflection.

Hidden from the road down a long gravel drive, this property is extremely private and offers so many natural resources, including a pond, creek, boulders, waterfall, meadows, forests, wildflowers, ferns, and mountain hikes. The perfect escape.

What makes this property unique

Utana Ama is Cherokee for Big Waters. This property offers a variety of water features, including a large pond for swimming and fishing, as well as a creek that meanders throughout the property and along the back of the house. Listen to the rushing water from almost anywhere on the property, including from the comfort of the daybed on the back deck - a perfect place to read or nap. Float down the creek or in the pond with the tubes provided.
