About this property

Cozy home with fenced in yard-Dog Friendly . 2 block walk to historic downtown!

My husband and I stumbled upon this cozy home at the mouth of the Susquehanna River and the top of the Chesapeake Bay in historic Havre de Grace. Only a few miles to I-95 for easy access to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. or New York City. The Great Wolfs Lodge and Perryville Hollywood Casino are 10 minutes away. This is a small single family two- story home built in 1880. A dog door opening leads to a fenced in back yard. (There is a non- refundable $200 Pet fee). The large porch is one step into the home. A combo lock box is between the storm door for easy entrance. Code will be supplied a few days before stay. Parking is free, but parking can sometimes be difficult, as there are so many visitors to the town. Handicapped parking is available across the street.
The Queen size bedroom and dressing room are on the second floor. The home was built in 1880 so these stairs are narrow. As you walk in the front door, a small couch/bed to the right side has a window air conditioner. The main room has a baby grand piano which you are welcome to play. We have internet and wifi with a TV and an electric fireplace for chilly nights . The dining area and kitchen have microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher. There is a door leading to the large fenced in back yard with a large pet door. We welcome pets, there is a $200 Non- refundable pet fee( with references). Yes, the cats and dogs in the photos are real to let you know if you have allergies, this is not the place for you. Our pets are with us at our other home. The bath area is a newer shower with seat and a washing machine is available for use. Clothes can be air dried either on the line outside or the drying rack upstairs. There is a cot available for one extra guest. The upstairs bedroom has a window AC unit and a Queen size mattress. The closet and all dressers, nightstand drawers available to the guests in both bedrooms. Coffee, linens, towels, etc are supplied.
Every weekend there seems to be a music, art or cultural festival. I have another home and are not able to take advantage of all the great events and happenings. Walk to restaurants, theater, the Opera House, Library, Post Office, Museums and the beautiful water. Go sailing, Kayaking, Paint, Hike the Lafayette Trail or enjoy Bombay's treats. Hollywood Casino and The Great Wolf Lodge is only a few miles away. Please note that the police department is only 1 1/2 blocks away and there are 5 fire departments in this town. Great for safety concerns, but sometimes the siren will go off. Also the train to DC runs right thru Havre die Grace. You will hear its whistle and horn. I try to accommodate everyone but this home is not suitable for more than 3 people with one car. Please let me know if you have any special requests and I will do my best.

Cozy home close to the waterfront

Super cute house in a quiet neighborhood(unless the fire department has a call. It is right around the block.) Really enjoyed our stay. Just be warned, the stairs to the upstairs are not for someone older. They are a bit steep and narrow.

A weekend in Havre de Grace

Visiting for a workshop. The accommodations were very nice. Our host made every effort to make sure we had what we needed, even welcoming us with a box of wine in the fridge. The house is just a few minutes walk from shops and restaurants but still on a quiet street. We were able to park right in front of the house.

Just as described- great little house in a great quiet community near thexwater

The house was perfect for my husband and I along with our dog. The house was in walking distance to everything so we could park the car when we arrived and not get back in until it was time to go home. Havre de Grace is a quaint little community with cool shops and great restaurants.

Home is well-loved and clean. Kitchen is updated with dishwasher, refrigerator, and gas stove. Microwave is available in armoire. Bathroom has washing machine, walk-in shower, great lighting, and comfy towels.Stairway is typical of an older home with slender passage, however sturdy and secure with metal railings.Stayed in the summer, so A/C window units were a welcomed relief. Back yard/porch was serene and quiet.Street parking was easy to find. I thought the Amtrak train would have bothered me at night, but I never heard it in the evening.Suzanne was more than hospitable! She was the perfect mix of attentive and available while still letting us have a quiet, secluded vacation. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and has a fantastic resource binder full of ideas and brochures. We said multiple times during our stay that we want to come back next year. We've loved it!

Historic Town - Great Location

We enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time exploring this historic town. The house is located in the historic district,, so you could easily walk 10-15 mins. to shops, parks, restaurants, etc. Suzanne, the owner, was great to deal with. She made sure the house had everything we needed. The house is small, but it was perfect for my husband, my small dog and me. Plus, we didn’t spend a lot of time inside, as we were sightseeing most of the time. We had a great time and hope to return again in the future.

Just a bit more improvement

Porch is filled with cobwebs. Steps inside need a lot of improvement. Inside was very clean, if dated. However I was pleased with the updated shower, refrigerator, kitchen. No tv made the down time lonely. Netflix did not work, nor did dvd player. For me I needed a much more closer bathroom on the second floor. Getting up 3 times a night to use bathroom & navigating those poorly constructed stairs was scary. I did not want to stay in the single bed right by front door. SUZANNE was very accommodating personally, as far as consoling me when I couldnt get the Master Key to work, and then on top of that I lost the hidden key. Just wasnt my day. One other thing, again not her problem, the outdoor dogs living next store were frequently barking. One was very aggressive and scared me back inside the house. I guess that's the neighbors' fault, but it affected my stay. It was a bit further walking to the river area. Coffee was great, milk was provided, sweetner, cups, microwave. Clean inside. Very cozy older house. I now know to ask more questions, but I would recommend this vrbo as long as the next renters asked a but more questions than I did. The next renters may not have the same concerns. as Milk, ciffee, needed to
